  1. Only purchases made through the app (buying lindens with real money, specifically) would go to the platform. A regular user buying stuff in-world or on Marketplace with lindens wouldn't be subject to that rule (and it's a cost LL would eat -- prices would not be increased).
  2. How far we've come. (And by we, I mean Fortnite.) Over 7 years ago, during closed alpha, I remember when the devs were working on a community building mode where players could claim a little square building area (next to other players) that could be shared with a code. These were just static buildings made of preset pieces available at the time. That mode didn't really materialize until about 3-4 years later, and then here they are.
  3. The web profile picture cannot be changed. Linden Lab is in the process of getting rid of the web profiles.
  4. If you don't have any other last name, your last name is Resident, even if it's not visible. Your full name is SnakePliskins Resident. All new accounts have the last name Resident, though it's not shown by default.
  5. It was explained in that thread that there is no logic for it. It's not deterministic. The order will be whatever happens by chance in your RAM. SL-faces are ordered by alphabetical name of the materials in Blender. LODs with matching names are also handled properly by the uploader.
  6. That change affected over 37'000 apps, including games that I personally know no longer exist / are valid. (Like the Anomaly 2 multiplayer beta... the full game was released in 2013. Or The Division 1 Beta which was held in 2016.) https://steamdb.info/changelist/18076822/
  7. These types of animations are done by offsetting/rotating the avatar's attachment point, in combination with normal finger animations. Animesh is not required.
  8. From what I understand (from reading posts from other people), the reports for sales/clickthroughs is broken and doesn't necessarily reflect your actual views/sales. If you know roughly how many sales to expect (and you have no inworld store or other revenue sources), could you check your transaction history to see if you're getting paid anyway?
  9. Related reading: https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/#user-generated-content Second Life has all of the requirements listed by Apple; a content-rating system, abuse reporting (maybe not speedy enough for Apple), blocking, and contact info. It does say that "Apps with user-generated content or services that end up being used primarily for pornographic content ... do not belong on the App Store and may be removed without notice." So there is a chance that the viewer won't stay on the app store forever, unless they remove the 3D view. 😋
  10. Just use this search tab, and you'll find the store you're looking for: Your store's products can be found by your store name anyway, since you've put it on all of your product names. LL's fix barely affects you.
  11. It's an intentional change, mostly a good one. There has always been a separate store/creator search. Many stores have names that pollute normal product search with completely unrelated stuff, so now the search ignores store names and creator names. The downside is that you can't filter *out* stores with spammy listings anymore.
  12. You should definitely post that video on LL's Jira so they can fix it. Really good demonstration.
  13. A group can't be deleted unless it's empty, so if the owner wants to get rid of it, they need to eject all members first. It's an accurate message as far as the action is concerned (since there's no way to know what their intention is).
  14. Attaching it to your own HUD is all you need to do. When you give a copy to someone else, it will attach to their HUD.
  15. Can you somehow create an example of what you're trying to make? I'm also having trouble picturing it in my head. Since attachments can't be physical or coalesced, it sounds impossible.
  16. When the HUD is not attached to you, right-click it in your inventory and choose "attach to HUD..." and the appropriate point. All objects will remember where they were attached previously, even after they're transferred to another avatar. (The right hand is the default location.) When you wear/add an object, it always goes to the previous attachment point.
  17. To be fair, Lumiya was one of (if not the) first mobile viewer to give a full 3D view of the world, and it worked well despite the flaws. We don't really have a better standard to compare to. Other mobile clients are still catching up.
  18. The people who bought Grandfathered regions have made their money back and then some, right? I have never interpreted LL's messaging about GF status as some "perpetual discount rate." Hasn't it always been described as a set rate, unlike education pricing? (I feel education/non-profit is a very different thing anyway, and deserve to be treated differently.) We know LL wants to bring down land prices by moving their revenue to other places (like the Marketplace, and Premium memberships). I don't really understand the downside of giving the grandfathered (or even cheaper) price to everyone. GF-owners dropping the status is not a negative thing, because the cheaper price of land is a bonus to Second Life overall, because more people will have the opportunity to own land in the first place. If someone (in the future) gains ownership of a GF region right before the non-GF prices become equal, I would see that as unfortunate and hope that LL waives the fee to keep the sim's GF status.
  19. That's the thing I was referring to. 🙂 Using a debug build of the viewer doesn't reveal anything out-of-the-box (I've encountered it while working on other things), someone would have to add more logging to that process to see what the viewer is doing, but it probably won't give a full picture of what's happening since we can't see what the sim(s) are doing.
  20. When you teleport from one region to the next, the region you're leaving is basically throwing you out and yelling "Catch!" to your destination. If your destination misses that event, your viewer is no longer connected to any region and you get logged out. There's no reconnect feature and nobody's bothered to make one since "it's just easier to restart the program." The reason why you end up all the way back to region A in your example is because the avatar's state or "last location" is only saved during a proper logout process. When you fall into the void, there's just nothing to save you. They could, it just hasn't been done yet.
  21. The 'dangly bits' could not be dangly in SL, since we lack that feature for rigged mesh.
