Only in 2022, is it such a chore and such a contested social action (as portrayed by online sources) about saying "Hi".

What it means is how it was meant for centuries. It's a greeting, and you're supposed to say "Hi" back. It's called courtesy.

"Hi" is not a threat.  "Hi" is not unwanted attention. "Hi" isn't meant to scare you away in a Premium sandbox. "Hi" doesn't mean someone is hitting on you. "Hi" doesn't mean someone has sexual interest in you.

I wouldn't say I suffer from social anxiety - but I am developing social anxiety only reading how others react to the most simplest of things - in RL a 'hi' can be met with a complete ignore, or 'taken aback' (how strange, do I look like a goblin, lol), or a pensive "hii? (Why are you speaking to me)" type reaction (strange), or any other number of strange encounters with reactions far out of the norm for what I would expect.

If I said "hello" to you, or complimented you on a product or build or something else you were working on, it would have no sexual intent at all. I'm sure others would agree that if saying 'hello' has become offensive, or giving someone a compliment, or even asking a question or engaging in any way is a 'threat', it can severely damage social interaction in SL.

I still say "hello" if I want or give compliments if I want, I'm not going to change - I'm just reporting the negative responses I get that are not warranted, and it is not me who needs to change but some people's response to an time-honored courtesy.

If I get a 'Hi' IM from a random guy, it's never yet been anything but him wanting to take things further. Why not state what you want rather than put it on the other person to carry the conversation? Hi gets no response, Hi, I love your profile/dress or Hi, I'm new here and was wondering how x works does

thank you for sharing your page with us cuz I was curious. But having seen it, I am really confused now. if the fee is 249 annually and then subtract $58.85 from it, that should leave 190.15. But they are only charging you 89.17. What happened to the other $100.98 of the fee?

My Sister had this happen too. I think they don't take the full year, they only take it up until your next billing date. Hers says $249 will be due on her next billing date, which is the date it was originally going to renew I think (very confusing)

Really the 3 month plan doesn't seem to me that good of a deal when considering the required Vat on top of it. Looking at (rounded figures) 4x$33=$132x1.20Vat=$158.40 vs $100. That is quite a surcharge for what is being considered the low income people.

Instead, it would be nice if S/L sold a yearly premium subscription payable in 4 equal installments of say 27.50 each, allowing them to not have to charge Vat and saving those most challenged to only have to fork over a total of $110 with the extra $10 being a surcharge for the extra paperwork.

This could satisfy the lindens and us, maybe. I wonder if they considered it, I'd definitely go for that

I think LL may change their mind and reinstate quarterly payments. It is something they will not lose money on. Keep customers who can't pay annually, and give them a few dollars off. Better that, than they go back to basic.

And then LL can tell how they listen to us residents.

I really hope so, yearly is such a lot to find in one go. I think a lot more would sign up for quarterly @Patch Linden is there any hope at all?

People don't need to justify their finantial RL satus to the LAB,  we have the money or we don't have.

The main question with quaterly is that there are people who prefer that for reasons of their own, and the LAB won't lose money,  from a business perspective it is better to have clients paying for 3 months than for one. But this is how I see it,

    My thoughts exactly

it makes some sense that their is no quarterly Premium Plus plan

back when Linden raised the price of Premium they also planned to drop quaterly at that time

it was pointed out to Linden that there are people on low fixed incomes (pensions, disabilities, etc) actual poor people, who do not have an immediately available $100 to spend. That they have to save up to get this amount

and one of the example given, was that for some people the time needed to save up this amount was between now and next pay day. While with others (actual poor people) on low fixed income the save up time can run to 6 months or more. Like if can only save up $5 a week then will have to go without for 20 weeks to be able to have the $100. And in this case the overwhelming number of people in these financial situations go with the monthly plan. Spend $10 a month

that when so (as it is so) then the subscription plan is regressive. Only those who can put together $100 in a lump sum will get a discount. The poorest RL residents do not, not unless they go without a Linden Home for the duration of the initial save up period

so the need for a quarterly discount to reduce the saveup time to get a discount

Linden took this onboard and put the quarterly Premium discount subscription back in. For actual RL poor people to be able to get some discount, while also keeping the saveup period shorter than 20 weeks or more had there only been a annual plan discount

this said. given the then argument for actual poor people, it makes sense to not have a quarterly Premium Plus account,.  Objectively, we are not RL poor when we opt to go for a Premium Plus account, which is 150% more than Premium

I may be wrong, but couldn't the same be said for premium eg we're not rl poor if we upgrade from a free account, to premium, which nobody needs

    Two pricing questions.

    1.  The $24.99/mo price - is that only for this month, or, if you choose that, do you pay $24.99/mo until that price is no longer offered, or does it go on until you change your plan, even if it is no longer being offered?  (Note: 24.99 comes out to $299.88/yr, so you wouldn't want to do it for a long period anyway, since a year of PP is $249).

    2.  Is the $L3000 signing bonus only offered today, or in perpetuity, or only this month, or?

1 - I would like to know this also

2 - You get it 45 consecutive days after upgrading, no matter when you sign up (so long as it is the first time +)

I just read about 3 pages of posts to catch up with what I had missed since my last reading. I love it that a lot of people have opinions on this and are expressing them here. For the most part, I really enjoy hearing from everyone.

But there is one thing that made me uncomfortable.  A few posts made fun of the Lindens and/or ascribed evil motives to them.

I think it is one thing to say, "this product offer is bad" but it is quite another to attack the character of the people making the offer. I think that, despite the occasional mistakes, the Linden leadership are good people who want to do good for SL and for each of us.

I would agree with this, the Lindens and Moles work hard to bring us what we want

I knew in my first week I had found a true diamond in the rough and would be here right till the very end. Everyone gets jaded and disappointed in SL as it fails to live up to initial heady expectations, not everyone can take a step back and recognize that if its ever going to meet those hope and dreams, they are going to have to stay.

There needs to be a new paradigm for Linden Customer communication.

A Linden pops up and says "I have an idea, would this be cool? What do you think?" Lets the thread rumble on for a week and then comes back with an updated idea that takes in the feedback and offers a refined and realistic solution .. we all rumble on for a week, rinse and repeat. Maybe the idea grows into 3 different ideas, but in the end, we get that communication and a clear expectation.

Imagine the thread if @Patch Linden popped up and asked "What lindy home themes would you like to see .. " it would be chaos, but not unproductive. Came back a week later with a new thread that narrowed it down to a few choices and asked for concept art to help flesh things out .. and a week later finished with a poll .. and let us just vote on the future theme, a theme we all had a hand in shaping. Being able to wade though the trash and find the gold is never going to be easy, true consensus is impossible, but the journey together is a far more important goal than the actual end result. We all gain perspective. We all feel involved. We're all in this together. There will always be next time.

LL really need to leverage the enormous love and dedication people have for this platform, especially when that motivates and inspires us to action. Linden homes is a taste of what that inspired action can look like.

    Totally agree

My google-fu is lacking today. I remember reading in a topic that there's a way to go around the 3 homes a day lock out, does it still work and how is it done?

We get 5 tries a day, not sure of the way around it so will be watchin with interest. I know you log out and back in to save waiting after to many tries
