  1. Sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere, if so, please just point me in the right direction.

I uploaded my mesh clothing which came out to be incredibly small in world.  I read here on the forums that SL uses Meters so I changed my Maya work space to display in Meters, but the avatar skeleton is very small.  Is there a way for me to get the skeleton to be the correct size so I don't have to resize once I get the mesh in world?

    Thank you!

  2. Thanks for both of your answers.  I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I did smooth bind and weighting again and reuploaded and this time it worked.  However, when I wear the item, it's positioned too far back on my avatar.  I am not sure why...I thought I had it over a good place on the skeleton, but I guess I'll have to do some tweaking yet.

Seems that is one thing there is a lot of when you first start out, tweaking.  As soon as I get this positioned right, I'm saving the avatar mesh with the skeleton in the correct placement so I don't have to keep wasting money on upload fees.

Ah, brings me back to the days of learning to sculpt LOL.

  3. First, if it makes any difference, I am using Maya 2010.

I created a clothing mesh, got it skinned and weighted, and got it uploaded into Second Life.  However, when I go to "wear" my clothing, it attaches to my right hand as any default object would.  From what I understand the clothing should be exactly where I had placed it on te body in maya if it was rigged correctly.

Is there any easy way to tell me what I've done wrong?  Or did I just completely screw it up?
I thought this was going to be a lot easier to do, but I've now been screwing with this for days, stuck on not even being able to get the mesh to upload after clicking the weighting option in SL, but now it uploads and isn't being worn correctly.  I'm just about ready to give up!  Please help!!!!

    Thank you!

  4. I understand and have found tutorials on rigging the clothing meshes I create to bring them into SL, but I don't understand what this weight thing is all about?  Is this something that happens when I'm rigging the clothing in Maya, or something I select upon upload into Second Life?  I haven't actually created any clothing meshes yet and brought them in because I tend to like to understand what I'm doing before I actually do it lol.

    Thanks for any information.
