    Calling All Bloggers!

Are you a passionate Second Life resident who loves to write about your Second Life experience?

I am! I used to write columns regularly for the Metaverse Messenger, have my own SL blog (though I've been a bit lax lately, to be honest), and all that.

So... what's your pay scale? 'cuz while I may be passionate, it would seem kinda foolish to work for free. Especially in this economy. I mean, when Hamlet blogged for ya, I'm sure he got paid.

  1. If anything, I'm impressed in simply seeing you learn how the world works from the basics on up, and -- perhaps -- seeing the world through the eyes of a noob. Thank yu for that.

And, if I may, let me offer you a warm welcome on behalf of Livingtree Island, Second Life's many "Inner Kids," and the Bay City mainland community.

  2. I'll  have to give it a try, though what I suspect is a memory leak (I've yet to pin down a real "__ causes ___" for it) has caused me to not use 2.3 or 2.4 (2.2 still works fine for me). As that is nearing end of life, I'm more than a bit worried!

I assume the profiles will remain viewable inworld, in the UI, just using a web-based system?  Either way, they sure look better.

  3. I have to agree with so many others: this is a lot closer to what Viewer 2 should have been at its release. I am sorry that it was pushed through, really, before its time. The tear offs in the sidebar is a huge improvement over 2.0 and 2.1.

I'd still love to see at least the option of a lighter UI for those who really don't do well with light text on dark background.

I'd also love to see greater enhancements and flexibility with groups/friends/profiles/inventory.

Nevertheless, kudos for a big, big step in the right direction. I would *hope* that those who are adamantly opposed to Viewer 2 at least give this a reasonable try, and test it out for a week or so. If you still don't like it, or if there's some clear deal breakers for you -- by all means, file JIRAs and head for the third party viewers. But... try it.
