  1. I just went and read the first bit of the old home thread.. so many memories- hope this one will outlive it all ♥. Promise I will drop in and post from time to time and do my part- heck, I may even do a little more SL time to contribute...
  2. I have tears, people- I may even have to dig up a picture for my forum avatar And /me waves to everyone specially the Thread Father- Hi Mac!
  3. Ahem... I have returned from worlds far flung to embrace The Undying Thread.
  4. Hey Sonja- It's true that in SOME things, IW is like old time SL. It's true also that the popuplation IS lower- to be expected for a world not out of beta yet. It is also true that the biggest draw right now is from a Builder's point of view as opposed to social- because of the lower number of folks. However, I'll tell you, last night I spent about three hours dancing in a club to live music. The night before, same thing. In both places there were between 20 and 30 other people at all times. It may have somethign to do with your time zone. It really is most populated in US time zones at the moment, although there are Euros present as well. As for freebies - there is an awesome thing called the Freebie Ring that you can tp around the grid getting your av up to speed with out it costing you a single cent. As for exploration, there is an Explorer HUD you wear that will also get your around to some wonderful sites. IW is a big supporter of the arts and you will find a very large artist presence there, if you are into that. I hope you will give us another chance some time - It is up and growing! If you drop in again, send me an IM- same name - be happy to get you started. Good luck and enjoy any world you choose. That is really the ultimate thing- to enjoy - no reason to choose one over the other. Be well. (edited for typos)
  5. Thank you Madeline- I will check this evening when I get inworld.
  6. This may be a sort of Builder question... I made a tiny hold drink animation and have attached it- however... while the tiny's arm DOES move (being a prim paw, of course) the cup stays floating in space. Any ideas? Should I attach to a different place- attached first to hand- then to forearm thinking forearm was wearing the prim I can see move... but no- mug floats, arm moves... Thirsty Tinies all over will thank you for your help!

  8. Well alrighty then! It seems I am owed some back pay (I was, however, a mentor way back when, when I actually had the time- but haven't mentored in years. ) As for googling me- feel free, I am pretty boring.
  9. Confused as to why your post is directed at me. I am not now, nor have I ever been, an InWorldz employee - just a happy resident - as I am a happy resident of SecondLife as well and I for one do not have any axes to grind nor do I see a need to bad mouth other grids- here, there or anywhere. When I have been upset at LL, I have been quite vociferous about it- if you search the archives you will find plenty of posts of mine as I am an old resident. When I have been po'ed at IW and any Founder I have been quite vociferous about it there as well. I have no qualms about stating what I believe - in other words - I can be quite opinionated. Frankly the majority of the uninformed opinions I have read here are exactly that- uninformed. And some are so ludicrous they don't even merit mention. I have been reading though because like most folks I enjoy a good laugh and the perennial trolls are always good for those. Am only commenting now in direct response to you since you took my rather kind and bland answer as some sort of personal affront or an insult to LL. I have nothing but praise for SecondLife and the beauty found here- however, I choose to make my life elsewhere. It is a matter of free choice, nothing more. Have a nice day Edited to add that I am not any sort of mentor - head, feet, stomach or otherwise.
  10. Did you mean Sculpty Paint? SculptyPaint
  11. And thanks specifically for this, Dz. I am not scripter by any stretch but will take a look. Re stuff being removed from IDI, I understand there was some cleaning and requests to move things around- it is possible if they not get a response things were returned. No idea really, but just considering as the possibility. Thanks again.
  12. Hi- Apologies for not having gotten back to you sooner- I have now confirmed that yes indeed, IW has not implemented the part of the code that wd make this work. I did create a mantis (IW version of jira) so hopefuly as they thru the bigger priorities they will take cae of this. Meantime, I will look at your helpful answers and see what I can do to make this aspect work. Thank you both so much for your help.
  13. Hello folks~ I am at a loss here and I need help. First to be clear and open, I should let you all know I am mostly in an OS world, InWorldz to be exact, so I am not goign to pretend this is exclusively for SL. I do still have a presence and a business in SL so very possible anything I manage to do will end up in SL at soem point. OK- that having been said- I am currently working on an AO for a machine avatar. I have a bobbing sort of standard animation to do the stands and flights etc- but I want a unique one for turning right and left. I cannot seem to make those animations play at all in the AO. The standard and prevalent one is loaded at priority four. I had tried it at priority 3 but found that the built in default walk was over riding my walk! Problem now is that the turn right and turn left are being over ridden by my walk. These are also P4 since lower seems self defeating. I need help on understanding how to upload or how to manage the AO- so that the turns will over ride the walk and play as separate anims. Any help that you folks can provide wil be greatly appreciated as I simply cannot figure this one out on my own though yes I have been reading the wiki. Thank you again.
  14. Glad you are enjoying it over there! It really is a great grid with lots of up and coming innovations - check out this new hypergrid post: http://networkedblogs.com/IypxV I don't think SL will ever go away- we have seen the sky is falling stuff for as long as I can remember - but, like you, I am thrilled that there are options- and of all the ones I have "test driven", IW hands down!
  15. Well Physix has rolled out across the grid now. The Founders and Devs are doing the standard bug killing that goes with a major new rollout. Feel free to pop in during any time- there are always Mentors on the first rezz place-known as IDI - to welcome new Residents and get them settled in. Tons of high qulaity starter stuff to get you de-Ruthed. Us SL oldtimers remember Ruth fondly but she can be a bit of a shock to newer folks. Nope, no mesh yet on main grid, but being played with in the Beta grid- IW likes to make sure they have all their T's crossed etc to avoid stuff blowing up later. But come check it out sometime and make up your own minds
  16. And why exactly would I want to link my RL and SL identities like that? Anyone familar with the term.. hacking? How many times do we hear about cc numbers etc being comromised? Just one more thing that can go wrong- bad bad idea from the get go
  17. You mean like since RA??? Insert fainting smiley here
  18. If you want the absolute EASIEST way to make certain types of sculpts (and just read it says and mesh maker too, but haven't looked) download Rokuro here: Rokuro. They also have another called Tokoroten which to be perfectly honest, I find makes very "dirty" sculpts. Nothing could possibly be easier than this since u can put a picture on the background and "trace" it with the little "dots" - nodes. It makes things u wd normally make on an RL lathe tool- so think say cups, baskets, bottles.. it is not really that limited, but it is not as versatile as Blender. Also, once you get the hang of it- it might possibly help you in learnign Blender because you can import the tga file it produces and tweak and fine tune in Blender- it is a good stepping tool and unbeatable for an easy sculpt. Good luck!
  19. Linden Lab will not interfere or mediate between Residents. If you have any sort of disagreement with another Resident, beyond something that is covered by griefing and A/R'ing, you have no recourse through the Lab. You probably would have RL law options but most of us wd not think it is a financially feasible option. As for the images- perhaps you could watermark them? Good luck.
