  1. Yes, you are correct it is a DELL - Lattitude E6540. If it is a dual graphics laptop, how would I tell SL Viewer to use the AMD and not the Intel? Thanks!
  2. Well, have some good news that enabled me to get in, might want to try it. So, went into preferences graphics card tab and reduced the quality/speed from High to Mid, which also brought avatar complexity down from 300000 to 200000. After making this single change, I am able to login fine now. So, sounds like an issue with my Graphics card that SL Viewer cannot handle at higher settings. Here is an image of my current settings.
  3. I have exact same problem, no error message. I had the same issue in the Summer where version 5_1_5_515811 would crash me out of login connecting to the region. My solution was to remove that version and install the earlier version 5_1_5_511732 and it worked. Now SL has a mandatory update, that you must install, which I did 6_0_0_520636. And now can't connect as before, it is the same issue, every time it is in the login process, it gets to the message of "connecting to region" and it crashes. For help, here is my About details of my system: Second Life Release 6.0.0.520636 (64bit) Release Notes CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4800MQ CPU @ 2.70GHz (2693.92 MHz) Memory: 8098 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 64-bit (Build 7601) Graphics Card Vendor: Intel Graphics Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 Windows Graphics Driver Version: 12.100.14.1300 OpenGL Version: 4.0.0 - Build 9.18.10.3204 Window size: 1920x991 Font Size Adjustment: 96pt UI Scaling: 1.5 Draw distance: 128m Bandwidth: 1300kbit/s LOD factor: 1.125 Render quality: 3 Advanced Lighting Model: Enabled Texture memory: 512MB VFS (cache) creation time: December 01 2018 13:46:38 J2C Decoder Version: KDU v7.10.4 Audio Driver Version: FMOD Ex 4.44.64 Dullahan: 1.1.1080 / CEF: 3.3325.1750.gaabe4c4 / Chromium: 65.0.3325.146 LibVLC Version: 2.2.8 Voice Server Version: Not Connected December 01 2018 14:00:25
  4. Thanks Cindy, yes that looks like the problem I have. I am 64-bit, and I installed the 64-bit so I would still be affected. I see replies to the SL post have no answer as yet. Meanwhile I will continue to use the older version. I did try looking on the status page last night, and saw nothing. Thanks for the help!
  5. Hi, On June 1 my second life viewer auto updated to the current version dated May 31 I think, it is version 5_1_5_515811. Since then when I try to login, it boots me out of the viewer during the login process. It always is at same place, contacting REGION. So I tried to uninstall and reinstall, reboot computer no luck, same condition. Is anyone having this issue? I searched the web and nothing? My internet connection is fine. my computer appears fine. I have been on SL every day for months. Another questions, I am thinking of loading a slightly older viewer from Feb 2018 just 3 months old I still have the install file. Only problem is, when I go to launch first time, it will auto check for updates by default and I don't want to do that obviously. How do I stop it? I know there is a Preferences-Setup setting that I can turn off, but I first need to get into the login page first, and I think it checks for updates first. So is there a config file I can edit to stop it? UPDATE: I manged to get the Feb version 5_1_5_512121 installed, and guess what? I logged in perfectly fine! So the new version has a bug, how do I report that so Second Life knows about it? I also changed the Preferences-Setup to prompt me before installing optional updates. I guess at a minimum you must install a mandatory update. Thanks for the help! Earnur
  6. Hi All, Sorry this may be very simple, but I have searched all the WIKI and community posts and still can not find my answer. I have a sim with a steep staircase. When I walk up the default camera view works fine, I can see where I am walking. But when I walk down, I can not see where I am walking, the camera does not angle down like it does when I walk up. So I change my orbital view to look down so I can see the staircase. But as soon as I use the keyboard to walk forward, the camera reverts right back to default looking straight ahead. The question is how do I keep the orbital view I select and walk with keyboard arrows without changing the perspective? Seems like it should be easy, but I am clueless. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  7. I had same problem when I upgraded to viewer 3, my ATI card would "flash" black on my avatat and all over the screen. When I turned off VBO, pow, no more problems.
