  1. Yes. You almost never have to upgrade to the next version of a LL viewer. Reinstall any previous viewer (or a TPV) now. If you install a LL viewer, open Preferences (CTRL + P) >> Setup and UNcheck the box the authorizes automatic downloading of viewer upgrades. That way, you can keep on using the one you installed as long as you want. Get a previous LL viewer at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Category:Release_Notes Click on the link to the viewer you want, and then select Download. To install one of th eexcellent third party viewers, see >> http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory
  2. Please read my response to the OP, above yours.
  3. Selling L$ is a two-step process. When you sell L$ in the Lindex, you are actually selling them to another SL resident at whatever the current exchange rate is, or at whatever limit price you have set. That first step is usually rather fast -- a matter of minutes or an hour -- and it puts funds into your U.S. dollar ballance, where they will sit until you execute a credit transfer request to either a PayPal account (usually) or a bank account (by wire transfer). That second step can take up to 5 business days, limited largely by PayPal's system. If you made a credit transfer request eleven calendar days ago (October 13), that would make today the 7th business day (11 minus two weekends). It's time to call the billing office and find out where the delay is. LL's billing team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. ..... 5. Yes, unless you have paid for a Premium membership and have access to Live Chat, your options are limited. There is no good way to file a ticket for voice issues. If you can describe your problem more fully here, we might be able to suggest solutions, though. Add information to your question by clicking on the Options link in its upper right corner and selecting EDIT. Please do NOT start a new thread.
  6. This is just a stab at what I think the problem may be ...... I'm guessing that you do not normally use Microsoft's Internet Explorer as your browser, so log out of SL and try IE9 now. Then log back in and see if your browser and Search work. Whether the experiment works or not, you can go back to using your preferred browser then . My guess is just that your viewer doesn't know how to find IE9 on your computer when it needs to, so this may take care of it.
  7. Be sure that you are in the viewer's Advanced mode, not the Basic mode. Click the MODE button in the extreme upper right corner of the screen, select Advanced, then log out and back in again. Your Search and browser should work then. If not, come back here and add to this post by clicking on the Options link in it upper right corner and selecting EDIT. Please do NOT start a new thread. The camera control thing is a (stupid) change in the viewer. To orbit, you have to click and HOLD the control, or DRAG it. Frankly, though, that whole control thingeee is a pain. It uses up valuable screen space and blocks your view. It's much faster and easier to use your keyboard arrow keys or your mouse, in combination with the Alt, CTRL, and Shift keys for camera control. See >>http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Camera-point-of-view-controls/ta-p/700047
  8. I've been around a long time in RL and I have known a lot of people with titles and have had many of my own. Mostly, they just mean that you have stayed in place long enough to know what's going on and to have made a difference of some kind to the community. They help newcomers to any group see at a glance which people can probably tell you which end is up. If the titles here mean much more than that, the significance is lost on me.
  9. The easiest way to get money in SL is to get a job in RL. It pays a lot better than a job in SL and it means that you will be able to enjoy more of your time in world. After all, why would you want to come to a vacation from your daily life and spend it working? The exchange rate is about L$1,000 for every $4 US, so a dollar that you bring in world goes a long way in Second Life. Not only that, but SL is loaded with good quality free clothing and other items, so you can do quite well without spending a penny. If you really want to work, that's fine. Creative people have a ball making things, scripting, trading real estate, performing in clubs, and building in Second Life. Very few of us do it for the money, though. We do it because we like to be creative and we get a kick from the fact that people buy the things we make. This is not a game. It is a second life. We earn money (if we do) because we want to, not because we have to.
  10. Yup. Charlotte's got it. Your local cache copy of inventory is out of sync with the original on SL's servers. That commonly happens if you have two or more viewers installed, especailly if you have them sharing some storage locations. So hit the Clear Cache button. log out, and log back in to a quiet sim like Pooley. Stand there until your viewer has downloaded and rebuilt a new cached copy of inventory. It may take a while, so be patient. Just open the Recent tab in inventory and watch the fetching number increase............
  11. It sounds like you aren't talking about moving the avatar , but moving the avatar's head, right? If you move the camera positon, then that's what happens. Your avatar's head stops responding to mouse movement. So, hit Esc a couple of times to reset your camera position. That should make your head responsive again, unless your AO is running an animation that prevents it. See >>> https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8926
  12. My default is C:/Documents&Settings/My Pictures, but I have long since redirected SL pics to a folder called C:/SL/Photos
  13. On your own hard drive, wherever you told it to save them. The default is whatever your computer usually uses -- probably different from mine. ETA: My default is C:/Documents&Settings/My Pictures, but I have long since redirected SL pics to a folder called C:/SL/Photos
  14. There are two answers to that question. The answer that most people think of is in terms of coordinates relative to the sim's SW corner, which has coordinates <0.0,0.0,0.0>. Your position in the sim is measured in meters to the east and north of that point, and Up from it. So <100.0, 180.0.,50.> is 100.0 meters east of the SW corner, 180.0 meters north of it, and 50.0 meters above it. The other answer is that the sim itself has a position on the world grid. Again, that's in meters, relative to the GLOBAL <0.0,0.0,0.0>. That is a point on the Da Boom sim that is arbitrarily defined as GREAT ZERO. (Visit! It's a Linden Playground.) If you want to know where you are standing, put this script into a prim and click on it... default{ touch_start(integer total_number) { llSay(0,"My position here is " + (string)llGetPos() + " relative to this sim's SW corner."); llSay(0,"This sim's SW corner is located at " +(string)llGetRegionCorner()+ " on the world map."); }}
  15. LL usually has several development projects going at once. Sometimes they are alternate solutions for the same problem. Sometimes they are completely different projects. The sims running LeTigre, Blue Steel, and Magnum have different bundles of development projects in beta. If they survive testing there, the projects are rolled out to all servers on the main grid. To see what's currently being tested in each of them, visit >>> http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta/BlueSteel , http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta/LeTigre , and http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta/Magnum
  16. Don't give up yet. I'm out of ideas at the moment, but Peggy or one of the others will probably be along shortly with another suggestion. That card will work. We just need to know the right curse.
  17. Your best bet is to file a support ticket, choosing the category "Marketplace" from the pulldown menu.
  18. The in-world profile and the web profile are often out of sync. So long as the correct information shows on your web profile and on your dashboard at secondlife.com, you're fine. Your profile at https://my.secondlife.com/Rachael.Lundquist says "Payment Info used," for what it's worth.
  19. Loads of them..... There are many reasons for that very common problem. What works for one person won't necessarily work for the next person, and it may not be the same thing that works for you tomorrow. See the full list of possibilitites here >>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=fs_bake_fail . Start with the simple things at the top of the list and work down until you find what works for you today.

    ayuda gracias

  21. Hmmmm... Unfortunately, SL and other OpenGL programs often do not play well with ATI cards -- even a good one like yours. The JIRA reports are full of complaints, and we get a lot of questions here. The obvious first step was to be sure that the drivers really are up to date, which you have now done. If you have tried the solutions that were mentioned in those other threads and still can't get the card to work, try this ... Disable AI in Catalyst: Right click on your desktop (or right click the ATI logo in the bottom right tray) and select Catalyst Control Center; In catalyst control center go to the advanced options menu; Then click on the 3D tab on the left side. Catalyst A.I. will be amongst the labels there; Tick the box next to 'Disable Catalyst A.I.'
  22. That should work, except that you don't really want to say the full list. Try llSay(0,llList2String(show,0)); You do need to have your script in the prim that has hover text, of course.
  23. Check the answers to previous posts from people who have had trouble with Radeon series 6000 cards..... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/I-just-got-a-new-laptop-with-an-AMD-HD-Radeon-6770m-and-it-gives/qaq-p/1087927 See Max Tyler's response here, in particular >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/So-i-got-my-HD-Radeon-6770m-card-to-work-with-sl-but-there-s-a/qaq-p/1090217 Once you've read through those and tried what they recommend, if you are still having trouble, try a clean reinstall of your drivers >>>> http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Clean_Install
  24. Click the My Appearance tab to open the sidebar. Click the WEARING tab to view your currently-worn outfit. Click the Edit Wrench at the top of the sidebar to enter appearance editing mode. Select one of your Body Parts and click the corresponding Edit Wrench to begin editing it. Use the sliders to adjust the item's physical parameters to your liking. When editing your avatar's Shape body part, you may choose its gender from the radio buttons at the top of the sidebar.
  25. First thing .... You probably better remove the merchant's name from your post here before you get in trouble for violating Community Standards. If you haven't had any response to your IM to th creator, consider that (1) a lot of people don't log in every day (2) it's the weekend and at least some people have RL obligations, and (3) the merchant's in-box may be capped, so that he never received your IM. It's probably a good idea to try again. Be patient and wait a few days before you move to Plan B. Plan B is to file a support ticket at https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ . Select "Marketplace" from the pulldown menu, and be sure to include a cut & paste copy of your Marketplace transaction so that LL knows what you are talking about. To get a record of the individual items in your order, open Marketplace and click the My Marketplace menu at the top of the page. Select My Account >> Order History from the pulldown menu. ETA: Oh, and don't complain about the delivery issue in a product review. That's really not fair. It's not the merchant's fault that the transaction failed. That's a system issue with Marketplace. The merchant is probably just as ticked as you are when it happens.
