Basic accounts can own Private Regions with actual real life money and last I checked a single month of paying for one of those with actual real life money makes LL's balance sheet a lot shinier than a Premium account payment with real life money.

Good for you that you have enough money to do that but not everyone can afford that luxury. SL is not a need to have for the vast majority of people and most will now have less L$ to spend in world on virtual items because they only have so much discretionary income in a given month to spend on a game like SL.

Here's the problem though it's gonna be way more than two bucks for some transactions under the new buyer fee structure of 7.5% which is egregiously high for any business transaction.
