  1. Not my most attractive pose, I'll admit. My SL kiddo (not the creepy 1 prim mesh child) has been working on building a "stage" for an RP school performance that she's in. Grabbing my zombie-hunting gear, and I think i might just go shooting tonight.
  2. Going back to finding "the people" on your sim - a slightly easier way than zooming out. Since it appears that you are on the firestorm viewer and have your "people" tab open, I would suggest right clicking on those names. You can zoom to them or TP to them to see if they are alone, etc. Although I typically wouldn't advise TPing to them because you'd drop on their head, it would be the fastest way to get to them. Another way is if you use the keyboard shortcut "gth 3400" in your main chat line (or however many meters high they are). This doesn't always work because you aren't sure if the person-focused area is directly on top of you in the sim, but it'll getcha up there in the sky, at least!
  3. This one is similar here. But generally, those outfits are "put together." I would check stores like Emery, Foxes., Zenith, etc. Neve has a skirt out that looks like that one at the Uber Event.
  4. My sim says "fall" but my mind is screaming "CHRISTMAS COOKIES" - although that might just be my stomach.
  5. I think what makes me the most sad about that cup is how fast it will cool. I wonder if you could get it in a self-warming mug?
  6. Gracious, we're doing one of these posts. I recently find myself without an official SL job due to the last place I was working at has closed. A little about me - I've been in SL for roughly 10(ish) years, although Nora has only been rezzed in since early 2011. I have a lot of little side gigs that I do and always enjoy the extra practice to hone my skills. I create dancers, gestures, and similar sound objects. I also love photography, both posed and otherwise, although only recently have I been using my Flickr account again. I love landscaping and terraforming, and have years of experience in that, as well as sim management, community roleplay management, tier management, etc. I've done my dip in wedding planning, event planning, and similar decor-related things. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out Blender or meshing, although I hope to take more time to focus on that soon, as I'd really love to build houses. I truly love dealing with people and assisting in whatever way that I can. I take rules and guidelines seriously, and pride myself on professionalism. I'd love to stay somewhere in the real estate type of thing, but beggars can't be choosers. If you have any connections or know of anyone searching for a workaholic, I'm your girl! **I am NOT looking for a job related to "adult" shenanigans, and would like to avoid the club scene or anything that requires me to prance around in my panties. It's getting a bit too chilly for that
  7. Riding is scary - driving is even worse! But now you can live your life knowing that "ur sexy." Such a relief for you!
  8. Working on some landscaping. The main challenge? This is actually a skybox 3000m in the air - flat ground and everything. Creating land forms where there are none is a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Shout-outs to the wonderful creators in SL who make such pretty things for me to design with.
  9. Sure, they're capable, but you're capable of creating avatar outfits and meshes and selling them as freebies to new members in SL, too. If it's something you'd like to see happen, set up some avatars and stand around at sandboxes and welcome hubs and pass them out. LL is quite busy worrying about the other 10,000 complaints that residents have that the appearance of something that are set as default/starters that they've already improved quite a bit.. well, it just isn't on the priority list. SL is a place of self-expression and freedom. You are free to improve yourself however you can manage. Some creators sell those items that they've made for self-improvement. *shrugs*
  10. You've gotta do some shopping! Thankfully, the sim we're on currently was purposely split with "mountains" so we just help ours along!
  11. I am not sure how long you've been in SL in total, but the new default avatars in this day and age are FAR better-looking than they were when I started 11 years ago, and again when I came back in 2011. Secondlife seems to stay pretty up and coming with the fashions and mesh etc. Example, the current avatars of choice when you sign up are mesh. Additionally, Secondlife has it's own infrastructure and money transactions/system. In a way, I'm sure that income is a small motivation to add more lindens to the system. On the other hand, LL doesn't control what users create or suppress their imaginations and what have you. There are many resources out there if folks choose to create their own clothing. Yes, they would need to spend a handful of Ls to upload the mesh and the textures and the like, but that is to each person's decision. I see plenty of users standing in sandboxes in default avatars, building away, and they look just fine! Appearance isn't a primary concern to some folks, and even if it was, they aren't too bad off with the defaults.
  12. *pulls out flame thrower* I rent from one of the various "estates" here in Secondlife. Currently, my little family and I are renting a quarter sim, so we have three "neighbors" who we don't see due to how the sim is laid out. Our primary reason for doing so is the freedom. I landscaping and terraform a LOT (I have an unofficial business for it), and I love being able to do hills and streams and waterfalls and etc. Of course, it is possible to do such purely with prims (I'm actually working on 'terraforming' a skybox right now and it's turning out wonderfully). With the freedom of terraforming, we can build up "mountains" on the parcel lines instead of being rude neighbors and throwing out the dreaded 'privacy screens of yore'. I've had a linden home before, and it was nice, but I just really appreciate the freedom to rezz out my own homes and toss out bears and the like. I'd say you'd be fine on the mainland if terraforming isn't a big deal to you. Edited to also add that we've lived (and I've been manager/general manager) at a couple of roleplay communities, and they are wonderful, but the lag is greater with the connected sims and all the objects and the like. If you have a stronger computer, though, and appreciate roleplay, it's nice to simply walk out your door and start up a roleplay without TPing anywhere.
  13. That is a BRIGHT store! It's nifty how it all matches to theme!
  14. I can make and upload my own for 10L. I'll be right over. I hope you have flame-retardant coveralls.
  15. Gracious, I cannot drive in SL to save my life. I'll build roads and landscape mountains and streams and "national parks" but throw me in the drivers seat? Nope. Better be an empty sim or somebody is going to get thrown around. When do you have driving lessons?
  16. I'm not going to lie, I've been wearing the same thing for three days in a row.
  17. I really do need to watch my coffee intake, but that does look excitingly tasty! I'll be over with my mug, soon!
  18. Gnome, if you check the website SLSkinAddiction, it has a list of appliers for bodies and mesh heads. If the Omega relay system is too confusing, look for creators who do appliers for both the Maitreya body and the Catwa head. A lot of creators are going the Omega route now, but there are still plenty of creators who do both. SL is developing at a rapid pace, still, and new things come out to make us all obsolete.
  19. I've done the same once or twice, but I always seem to wander back. The issue with more people in SL means that we aren't all standing on an island with our pants on our heads anymore. Welcome back!
  20. Oh, breakfast too, eh? I'll grab the cream cheese!
  21. Working on refreshing my resume in SL. Does anyone have any tea this morning?
  22. Welcome back! Wondering if I can get in on those margaritas!
  23. Misa, I might be able to help you out a bit. It'd be my first time working with animals, but I won't shy away!
