But why? I never look at the map, let alone mini-map. I TP into somewhere and if I have an itch, I can to all the avatars on the people tab on region to appreciate the effort they put into their looks, and then I go on my merry way to cam to whatever I came to the region for. I fail to see how hiding a dot on the map will help when you can simply use the nearby people option. Very rarely do I walk too far in SL. It’s unnecessary for me to do what I wish to do. I log into SL to be more social, more often than not, because if I didn’t want to, I’d simply not log in and rewatch a sitcom for the 80th time. Additionally, you can appear offline to strangers and friends alike, assuming they don’t have a tracker hud and don’t message you. You can limit how you appear in search, and to if your online status is publicly viewable. For your friends, there is an eyeball next to their name on your friends list - if you click it, you will appear offline to them.

I’ve used The Q Translator from Imitation of Life for many, many years. It translates local chat but is a HUD that the person in question must own. The downside? It’s a hefty sum of nearly 1K, but it’s outfitted with so many options and languages. As a wedding photographer, it was worth it to me as I am frequently hired by couples who don’t speak English, and it offers the ability of two way translation. The translations can be set to local chat, or whispers. That way you can see the translations of what somebody else says, and it doesn’t translate & spam it to the whole parcel. That being said, it sounds like you’re looking more for something that you can rez out in the place, so it may be best to have Google translate ready instead.

As a note, it would probably help if you took a screenshot of what your graphics looks like, as troubleshooting can’t begin without evidence of the steps.

The reason this likely happens is because you may have teleport routing turned on like @LittleMe Jewelldoes. If this is set this way, all teleports into the region WILL go to the landing point because that’s what you have the tp routing set to. It overrides the settings you have in the group and takes priority on initial landing. Perhaps I’m not understanding what the question is lol. Landing points are landing points, but with tp routing on, anyone not in the group who double clicks or attempts to go anywhere other than walking is going to end up back at the landing point. To have both set like this is basically a no go for me because I double click TP wayyy too often and eventually I’ll throw a fit and leave in tears, or just set up camp at the landing point exactly. Everyone has their limits and I know mine. 😂

An option different from listed as above - set the land to your group (deed isn’t needed, I believe). Give yourself a role in the group (if group is not your own) that has the permission to ignore landing point. voila.

Nobody in my RL knows I play SL aside from my husband, and I’d like to keep my dirty little secret just that - a secret. 🙃
