I'd be happy to log in and teleport you to a platform no one can see Czari if you want me to check out whether there is some error. I'm still on the old viewer and I can take a photo of your av and send it to you. Just let me know. I had a friend who was concerned about appearing naked and often asked me to check her out. I almost always saw her properly clothed, but often told her otherwise. I never told her she was clothed when not, so I did address her concern, even if exacerbating it. She was not wiley enough to ask me for photographic proof. Czari, I'd extend the same offer as Melita, but I've already taken the fun out of it. Welcome back, Phil. I didn't know you'd been away!

Yes, my PSU has no info on the side that I can see and I can't see the other side of it just by taking the side panel off, there is another metal "wall" that I assume is connected to the MB and I'm not about to mess with that. I have been hoarding Christmas gift money until I could decide what I really, really wanted to spend it on. It is just enough to get a decent 650W PSU. Since I'm going to make sure I buy one with a single 6-pin connector to the graphics card, do I still need to be concerned about "rails?" I'll guess that your current PSU is basic and has only one 12V rail. So paralleling two molex connectors should not be a problem. It's just a matter of being sure the PSU can handle everything. If all you have is the motherboard, GPU, one hard drive and one optical drive, it's probably big enough. More sophisticated PSUs with 6 and/or 8-pin connectors may power each connector with different 12V circuits, so the GPU vendors must allow for that if they use more than one 6/8-pin connector. Your GPU has only one 6-pin connector, so there is no worry. The GPU should never draw more power than the 75W allowed over a 6-pin connection. Similarly, the PSU should be designed to provide at least 75W over that connection. The 8-pin connections are specified for 150W.
  3. Sassy Romano wrote: Czari, go back and re-read what I said about adequate power on a single 12V rail. You just want to make sure that the power supply isn't dividing it's total power between multiple rails. Although you're not likely to run into a problem, go for quality, not just the cheapest "hi-power" one that you're presented with. Oh, the good ones are also usually very efficient (cheaper to run!) and have entered into voluntary certification. Read here for more details http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/80_Plus In simple terms, if you have an 80% efficient power supply, 20% of the power from the wall socket is just being converted to heat. Draw 200W and that's 40W doing nothing but warming the room slightly but you're paying for that and getting only heat from it. My PSU right now is reporting 97% efficient, that's just 8W warming the room from 249W drawn. A very highly efficient PSU, while not being the only factor, should be a further guide as to the design and quality. This does bring up a consideration for Czari's current power supply. If it has completely separate 12V rails, feeding different pigtails, it may not be possible to "Y" two of them together into the single six pin connector using the harness that came with her GPU board. Czari, can you give us the make/model of your PSU so we can make sure you're able to use two 12V Molex connections to power the GPU? Also, there's no need to upgrade your PSU if it's actually capable of powering the new GPU along with the rest of your computer. It may look nicer to have a 6-wire cable going directly from the PSU to the GPU, but once the hatch is closed, you won't see it.
  4. I don't think I've purchased anything to wear since Six posted the OP over a year ago, so I don't change anything much. But there are a few true constants in my wardrobe. I very rarely change hair. I made my own skin based on some web template I found years ago, which I never change. I've made custom tattoo layers that have moles arranged in constellations. I have Orion on my back, the Seven Sisters above my left breast and The Big Dipper on my tummy. Here's Orion... I also wear my homemade "Anne Francis" mole. It's actually a spinning globe of the nighttime Earth. I like knowing I can lick the world whenever wish... And I also always wear a pocket watch. My grandfather gave his broken pocketwatch to my Father back in 1952 (or 54, I can't remember). Dad gave it to me when I graduated from engineering school. It still doesn't, and never will work. The idea being passed down with the watch is that we should not be slaves to the clock. Here's a picture of the watch pinned to my bikini bottom... When I visit nude venues, I'll wear an untied men's necktie to cover my top and my pocketwatch to cover my bottom. I have had offers to wind it. That's another reason to keep it broken.
  5. I haven't seen many episodes of "Cheers", Tari. But, I certainly understand the theme song, and friends have called me Ms. Claven. I live outside a smallish town, and have been here almost my entire life. It's nice to walk into a place and hear "Maddy!", even if it's in anger ;-) It's pretty neat that a group of you migrated from TSO to SL. I've left behind many circles of friends as I've switched venues over the years.

Make it so that everyone has to walk, run, bike, drive, take a plane, mass transit, whatever. Location would really matter. Hubs would truly be hubs. The journey would once again be part of the fun. As it is, there is no travel... travel and transportation aren't necessary. We can have parties at the sim borders!

  14. Hi Wild, There may be a corrupted setting for the avatar that's having trouble. If there's nothing (like chat logs, graphics settings, etc) that you need to save for that avatar, hold down the Option key while selecting "Go" from the Finder Menu, then drag down to "Library". You should then see your Mac's Library folder, which will contain an "Application Support" folder. Within that folder you should see another folder named "Second Life" or "Firestorm" or the name of whatever viewer you use. Within that folder you should see folders named after all the avatars you operate. Drag the folder for the problematic avatar to your desktop and log-in again. If everything is working, you can recover chat logs by copying them from the folder you moved to the desktop back to the new folder that the viewer will re-create for your avatar. If there's nothing you wish to save, toss the folder you moved to the desktop into the trash. I hope this helps! Good luck!
  15. Hi DJ, It sounds like you're having a heck of a time. The orange mist you describe sounds like your viewer is having difficult rezzing your avatar. That happens now and then, and should be improved by the lastest updates to the SL servers, which are not completely rolled out across the grid. You can try forcing a "rebake" with ctrl-alt-R. I'm not sure what you mean by "it says I'm being consumed", but I'll guess at a few things. 1) If someone has sent a fireball after you, you can lose it by teleporting to another sim. Objects can't teleport, unless you are wearing them. 2) If you have worn a fireball, you can detach it like any other article of clothing. Right-click on your avatar and select "Takeoff->Detach All", or open your inventory window and click the "Worn" tab and then right-click anything suspicious and "Detach from Yourself". If neither of these things work, you'll need help from someone more saavy than me. Good luck!

  17. Hi Darnellie, Go to your web profile page (https://my.secondlife.com/darnellie) and click "Edit Profile". Then select "Real World Profile Picture" and you'll get a "Choose File" button that will bring up a search window for your PC. From there you can navigate to the RL photo you want to upload. Good luck!
  18. Dillon Levenque wrote: I don't know if this even has to do with the question but I found it interesting. I have a little fishing pond on which I used a water texture that wasn't fabulous but wasn't all that bad. When I finally forced myself off Phoenix and onto Firestorm (4.3) a few months back, I noticed the water no longer moved, no matter what Water settings I chose. It just looked frozen. I could still catch fish so I paid little attention and besides, it was wintertime. Last night I clean-installed 4.4.2, and after redoing my settings went for a short walk and noticed my pond had thawed and was rippling nicely. It looks better than I remember, actually. I hope you're catching bigger compliments now that the water has thawed...
  19. DQ Darwin wrote: I would like to answer this question, but, I am to out of sorts after draging Madelaine (Maddy) around on that damn locomotive :matte-motes-big-grin: Hey, I offered you the "basking in the sunshine" spot! It's not my fault if you don't want to bring out your freckles.
  20. Pamela, what things did you remove when you took out Firestorm? There's the usual spot... Library/Application Support/Firestorm But I also found recently changed files in... Library/Saved Application State/com.secondlife.indra.viewer.savedState Even though this folder file isn't named "Firestorm", it contains files that were modified the last time I ran it. (I don't use SLV, so it couldn't have modified those files). I don't know that Firestorm could have done to affect other viewers, unless that saved state stuff is somehow common to all viewers and contains something amiss. Good luck! ETA: For those that don't know, the "Library" folder went hidden in Lion (or Mountian Lion, I can't remember). You can reveal it by holding down the Option key while accessing the "Go" menu in Finder.
  21. I always enjoyed having chats at the table or in the wheat at "The Far Away". I'd follow that by trying to drag the locomotive out of the field while my friend basks in the sunlight on top of it (reversed if I think she's got the stamina ;-). Then I finish it off with a swirl around the windmill.
  22. Sephina Frostbite wrote: Wouldnt the make up stay the same if its applied after the tat layer is put on? Yes, tattoo layers stack in the order you wear them. If the last layer you wear is an overall tint, it will tint everything underneath. If the last layer you wear is something like lipstick, it will cover only the lips, thereby hiding the tint. This is why you have to be careful about the order of eyelashes and eye shadow/liner. Lashes have to go on last, or they might be covered by the shadow/liner. ETA: I generally wear only lipstick and eye shadow, which don't conflict. So I don't know what happens if you wear an outfit containing multiple tattoo layers, which might not stack the in the order you added them when making the outfit.
  23. badboymercy wrote: I hope that is it, I'll have a look. Is there any way to avoid an object being effected by such a thing? Or is it just a local setting? Note to other replies: I am not mixing float and integer values, the integer value is simply to allow the script to reverse untill it reaches a certain float. And the sleep was added long after the problem with the blue color, which seems to come no matter what I do, as I said I've written at least 3 variations of the script and all of them have the same problem. I edited my first reply to suggest "Full Bright" as a way to eliminate tinting by local lights. But that also makes your thing stick out of the scene like a sore thumb, particularly at night. I don't think I understand exactly what you're seeing.
