  1. Oooh, I went to check out this Tiny marketplace community and the first two advertisements were for a certain popular male attachment. I guess size does matter!
  2. Hi Tor, The objects will be found in the "Lost and Found" folders of their respective owners. They'll be aggregated into "coalesced objects" which have an icon that looks like a little pile of boxes. If you've been using Firestorm, you can right click on the those things and select "Restore to last position" which may put everything back where it was. If that works, you might still find a few objects in the <0,0,0> corner of your sim, under water. You'll have to drag those leftovers back to where they belong. If you are using the standard SL viewer, you'll have to rez the coalesced objects, then find all the pieces and relocate them. Good luck!
  3. Resize scripts are the best thing that ever happened to SL...

Love ya big time lovely crazy Hippie! Let me know when I can host breafast next time btw, already put some pumkins on the land, lol. Hugs you my friend Who's gonna guide the noobs, Val? Researching answers is hard work. Your help is invaluable...

I had no posts there at all when my rank was raised to an Advisor. I was scratching my head what did it? The only thing what I can think of is that when one has a certain number of kudos for their posts the rank will be upped from Member to Advisor. So all Members interested to get (cool :smileytongue:) Advisor rank should start posting good posts to those forum areas where kudos are enabled. Good luck! :matte-motes-big-grin: PS. To get a next higher rank; I have no idea at all what one must do. Well, the ranks do not mean much anyway. :smileyindifferent: I thought only the Answers section had KUDOS enabled. But TBH, I hate the Answers section. There is just something about the way it is formatted that feels like chalk on a black board to me. I have tried using it a few times and grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I may be stuck forever in my lowly state. We may all be stuck. To earn badges, you have to help people. To help people, you need people to help. Traffic here is declining. I agree, the design of the Answers section seems intended to dissuade us from helping. As a result, most questions are asked in the forums, where you can not vote for the quality of the answer, nor earn kudos to advance your rank. The Lithium software in particular, and customer relations in general, seems outside LL's wheelhouse (I'm trying to avoid the word "competence" ;-)
  6. Hiya Destynee, I'm not sure just what you are asking for, but if you want a script that randomly says something like "Male" or "Female" when you touch the thing it's in, this should do it. I've written it to be easy to expand to larger lists of choices. Just add more genders to the list, just like real life does! ;-) list genderList = ["Male", "Female"]; default { touch_start(integer total_number) { integer length = llGetListLength(genderList); // Get the number of items in the list integer index = llFloor(llFrand(length)); // Generate a random index into the list, constrained to valid values llSay(0, llList2String(genderList, index)); // Say the selected gender } } If this is not what you had in mind, come back to your question, select "Option" on the right and edit it to tell us more. Don't ask a new question, as that will split our responses to you and push other people's questions off the front page. Good luck!
  7. Hi Rillieno, It sounds like you have rezzed the boxes and copied/moved the contents to your inventory. The next step is to find the clothing items in your inventory and right click on them to select "Add" or "Wear" to put them on. "Wear" will replace any similar item (top, undies, hair, etc) with the selected item in your inventory, "Add" will leave what you are already wearing in place and add the inventory item. So be careful which you choose, most of us don't look good wearing two hairstyles at the same time! Here's are a couple short videos that might help get you going... If I've misunderstood you (I do that!), come back to your question, select "Options" and edit in any additional info that can help us solve your problem. Good luck!

  9. Hi Dulcie, It's possible the griefer rezzed a bunch of things that overloaded your graphics processor, causing your viewer to crash. Linden Labs appears unable to prevent this type of exploit, so I'm afraid the only solution is to move away from where the griefers are operating or perhaps reduce your draw distance so the things they rez are not in view. I also recommend filing an abuse report on the griefer as well as reporting the attack to the club's owner.
  10. There may be some overlap with the site Rolig recommended at this site... http://dwellonit.taterunino.net/sl-statistical-charts/ Note that some of the charts are not current, as LL has stopped providing the data.

Shelby Silverspar wrote: Just a word of warning, be careful with gifts from unknown sources, especially gifts that contain parts you must "attach" to your avatar - nefarious folks sometimes hide evil scripts inside those. Not accusing anyone of anything, it's just good advice. Don't want to see you posting something about "I tried on a new necklace and all of a sudden my avatar is distorted and I can't fix it!! HELP!" or something like that! Oooh, yes! This is SL. Sometimes you DO look a gift horse in the mouth!
  12. If they transferred an object to you, or you received it as a gift from the marketplace, a record of it should be in your transaction history. I don't know why you don't see it. You can, as I described in an ETA to my other post, look in your IM chat logs for a file created on the day you received the gift, named for someone not in your friend's list. If you've enabled IM logging, that file will contain any IM they sent you. If you received a notecard, that will show who created it, and if you sort by date, it will be near the top of your notecard list.
  13. Hi Chai, Log into your web dashboard and look in Account->Transaction History. The gift will show up there. ETA: Once you've figured out the name of the donor, you can dig into your viewer's support folder for your avatar folder to find a log of the IM they sent (if you've enabled IM logging). That's probably in the viewers Application Data folder or something like that, I'm not a PC person. On a Mac you'llfind it in Library/Application Support/Viewer_name/Avatar/donor_name.txt . You get to the Library folder by holding down option when you click on the "Go" menu. "Library" will appear in the menu. Good luck

  16. This has happened to me as well. Toggling "Tap-tap-hold to run" in Preference->Move&View->Movement has sometimes fixed it, otherwise a relog. Good luck, Charlie!
  17. The B-17 shadow from the B-52 was one of my favorite things about "Dr. Strangelove", maybe because none of my friends noticed it. I thought Kubrick had done it purposely, but I've since learned (thank you Internet) that the only aerial movie footage he could get of terriain that could pass for Russia was shot from a B-17. In the movie "Airplane" the jet makes a prop plane sound, a clear (to me, if nobody else ;-) tip of the hat to "Dr. Strangelove".
  18. I rez a box, set it phantom (so it won't push me out of the way), then drag it so it half enters my body. Then I stretch it up to just cover my head (I remove my hair) and down to just cover my foot (I remove my heels). Then I look in the edit window to see how tall the box is. This requires a bit of camming around, sometimes under the floor if my hover height is wrong, but it can be done.

  21. If this is a Seven Seas question, you might have better luck (you couldn't have worse than here ;-) asking it over at the Seven Seas Fishing Forum. Cast your line over here... http://www.7seasfishing.com/forum/index.php If this is not a Seven Seas question, then I'll tell you how I do it... First I trick people into falling into one of my worm barrels, which I lash flush with the dock's edge, their bottoms in the water (this keeps the worms cool and moist). I'm fairly nefarious, so it's not hard to do. Then I give them a few seconds to gain their bearings and develop a truly heartfelt desire to get out of the barrel. Once they're ready, I extend my hand in what appears to be an offer to help, while asking for what I believe is a fair "tip". If they refuse to pay, I cut the rope and watch them float away. Good luck Addicted!
  22. Hiya Kill, When you launch the viewer, does it just endlessly bounce in the dock? Does it produce any error messages? You haven't give me much to go on. Make sure you have removed all viewer related files. You'll find a folder named for your viewer in Library/Application Support, you'll find another in Library/Caches and perhaps another in Library/Saved Application State (where the folder name may be of the form "com.viewername.savedstate". Toss all of those folders, as something in any one of them might be causing launch failures. If you can bring more detail, do it by editing your question rather than asking another one. This will keep everything in one thread and avoid pushing other unanswered questions off the front page. Good luck!

  24. anselm Hexicola wrote: What is the difference between & and &&, specifically in the context of a portion of a (LSL) script like this:- if (a==b & c==d) { //lines of code};if (a==b && c==d) { //lines of code}; The LSL wiki on Operators is a bit opaque for me; and my trials in the LSLEditor didn't enlighten me. & is a bitwise operator. It evaluates both sides of the equation. So in your example, both "a==b" and "c==d" would be evaluated, and if both were true, the if would fire. && is a logical operator. It evaluates only the left side of the equation before proceeding to the right or not. In your example "c==d" would only be evaluated if "a==b" were true. If the thing on the right had side effects, those effects would be conditioned on the outcome of the left hand side. In your case, the right has no side effects so there would be no difference in the outcome of the two methods, other than a small speed advantage to the second example when "a==b" is false. In other situations, the difference between & and && is much more significant. For example: 1&&2 equals 1 or "true" because both constants are non-zero (which is generally taken to mean true) 1&2 equals 0 because the binary equivalents... 01 and 10, when anded bitwise, do not both have ones in the same bit position. 1&3 equals 1 because the binary equivalents... 01 and 11, when anded bitwise, do both have ones in the same (rightmost or ones) bit position. 2&3 equals 2 because the binary equivalents... 10 and 11, when anded bitwise, do both have ones in the same (leftmost or twos) bit position. ETA: cleanup and added examples ETA2: More background on "bitwise"... I have a technical background and often worry that my explanations are too techy. The underlying binary nature of everything we do in computing is not widely understood. If you have a bunch of yes/no things (which can be expressed in a single binary digit, or bit) you want to store in a computer, it's terribly innefficient to give each one its own separate address in memory, as the memory of most computers is chunked up into eight bit "byte" sized pieces or even 32 bit "words". So, we use "bitwise" operations to individuate those bits. LSL makes heavy use of one bit "flags" to store the state of things in 32 bit words, like whether a people are allowed to fly on a certain parcel, whether scripts are allowed, or building, etc. It's difficult to remember where these bits are within the larger. So, LSL has countless named constants like PARCEL_FLAG_ALLOW_FLY. Here's an LSL wiki page that shows the packing of flags in the word variable that is returned by a call to "llGetParcelFlags". In this case, the flags describe characteristics of the specified parcel... http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlGetParcelFlags You'll see they've packed 32 yes/no flags into a single 32-bit word. You generally needn't know where the flag bits are, as the named constants take care of that for you, but the table on that page shows you where in the 32 bit word each flag resides. The "Value" column contains a hexadecimal (base-16) "mask" that, when decomposed down to base 2 (binary) has only one of its 32 bits set to one. Here's a "hex to binary" converter page that may help you understand how a hex digit maps to the underlying four binary bits. http://easycalculation.com/hex-converter.php If we do a bitwise & of one of those named flag constants, like PARCEL_FLAG_ALLOW_FLY with the variable returned by llGetParcelFlags, we'll get either a zero or nonzero value. In general, zero is considered "false" and anything nonzero is considered "true", so the result of a bitwise & with one of the flags will be either true or false. So, without really needing to know where the bits are, we can test them using the LSL flag constants. It can get much more complicated than this when you wish to test more than one bit, but I hope my explanation at least gets you started. It's pretty exciting to tell a computer to do something and then see it do it. I have my fair share of difficulties making that happen, but not nearly so much trouble as making the same thing happen in humans, dogs or (heaven forbid) cats. Have fun!
