  1. Hello! .:UR:. Building Components is seeking high quality mesh to put under the .:UR:. name. We design and build full perm mesh items which we sell inworld and on marketplace. If you would like to join the build staff and have a chance to put your mesh work under a high quality SL name this is your opportunity! There are certain caveats and standards that the .:UR:. brand holds that any potential mesh builder would have to conform to, and this will be discussed at length for any persons interested. If you are interested please contact Laurie7983 Gothly for more information.

  7. I'm dipping my toe in the proverbial water here looking for a scripter to make a system for a contest. These are the aspects that I want this system to be able to do: Allow a person to rate an item by a custom amount through popup menu on touch (Say for example 1 - 10)Throw out any voter that has not voted on all options set outTake the results of the ratings and turn them into weighed averagesOnly allow one vote per person per rating.*Only group members may vote (must join XXX group)*Manager features (can be managed by more than owner of script)*Optional but not essential features We do not want this script as exclusive (scripter may sell it when done building it). We are able to negotiate on fair fees. Please reply here or contact me inworld.
  8. I wouldn't say he's being impolite honestly. I would say he just isn't using grammar in the simpliest of forms because he can't or perhaps rude as you say. I agree he's asking a whole lot of work done (hundreds of linden worth in My opinion) that includes texturing, high quality mesh design, AND scripts. I definitely agree he needs to -learn- to be more open and shown how he is possibly being impolite. Also, freaking copyright city lol. He should have said "Jurassic Park like" or something.
  9. Thanks for all the quick and timely replies. This advice helps our sim a great deal, thank you again!

  11. How low of a prim count can a sim legitimately handle before it becomes an issue? What's a bare minimum (if any) that our sim should keep free. This isn't a question regarding script usage or textures, it's a question regarding prims.

  13. It used to be that gifting an item let the person who recieved the gift be able to review it. When I first gifted and tried to review I figured this little nugget out. I don't know if that option is bugged or removed but I do agree that the gifter has -no- business reviewing a product. Either way, money was exchanged so I think someone -does- have the right to review the product, gift or no.

  15. Kwakkelde Kwak wrote: I can think of two things. First one is one to avoid like the plague. Split up your floor into multiple planes and texture them seperately. This would be the "texture memory killer" option. For example, a 4x1024x1024 floor would use 12MB of texture memory, quite a lot for the low end computers out there and a big chunk out of the 512MB SL lets us use. Second one is a bit more complex and can be a bit tricky. I'm also not sure if it will survive future updates to the render system, but it has worked from the moment we got mesh until now. In 3ds max, copy your floor, assign a new material (or ID) to it and attach it to your original floor. The one floor you can texture using repeats, the other floor you can texture with a lower resolution shadows or occlusion map. Make sure the occlusion/shadows map you upload to SL is transparant/opaque rather than black/white. The two floors will have two faces in SL, just like any other object with two materials. In 3ds max you will probably see the textures flickering. In SL one will show on top of the other though, without any glitches. This way you can have something similair to two layers in photoshop. It should even work with more than two layers, but you might have a terrible time selecting the correct face in SL if you do that, I think only a script would work then. Kitsune Shan has a blogpost on this "trick". In fact I think that's where I picked up the idea. Thank you for the reply! Firstly, I'm glad you told Me about the plague option. That was the first choice I -was- going to attempt. Secondly, you made it really click on why/how limited our use of texture space is when you regarded it that was. (Why does SL only have 512MB when there are cards that support 4Gigs?) Thirdly, thank you thank you thank you! I think that trick is -exactly- what I'm looking for and I think it will work. I'm doing testing on it now and will post results here. EDIT: Works FANTASTICALLY! For very large spaces we will be using this method. Thanks a bunch!

  17. Hi there! Medhue Simoni wrote: The fuzziness is a product of the resolution. It could be that the UV map for that section of the floor is too small and needs to take up more of the total UV map. As I don't know what your UV map looks like, I can't say more. You could also up your total resolution on the texture to at least 1024. The stretching is likely a product of how the verticies are placed, and possilby needing more verts for the mesh. Just my thoughts, without seeing more of the model and UV. The texture used is 1024x1024. I'm showing a screenshot of the UV map of the mesh object below: http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h402/Laurie7983/4f35aae82f6196bb071cde71948c7480c503b47e_zps50280f5c.jpg I'm not sure how to change the resolution/repeats without going outside the UV box.
  18. I've been having issues lately with mesh. With mesh on small scaler scales texturing isn't an issue. When trying to texture larger mesh buildings however the texture gets stretched and 'fuzzy'. I don't know what to do besides splitting the mesh into different sections, but I don't want to have 6 sections of large textures just for the floor. I have a picture of the texture here to highlight the issue. http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h402/Laurie7983/Firestorm-Release2013-08-1218-34-22-93_zpsb4ced29b.png Tips or tricks I'm missing out on I implore you to share!!

Or did you find a better solution? The solution was to buy a radio system that we could place into the rezzers of our skybox system and control based on channels to the proper deeded parcel radio. In effect we have a couple of streams that a handful of renters share based on an up-to-date shoutcast list brought by demand of the renters. Renters still need to share one music streaming link, but at least they have reasonable options now in how to do so in a simple system setup.

  23. Qwalyphi Korpov wrote: The "radios" I know about use the land audio URL to provide access to steaming audio. The OP is looking for a "radio" that works differently - to provide multiple "radio station" choices on a single parcel. The MOAP feature seemed to be designed to solve this problem. I'm not aware of a product that does this. Some certainly could exist but there are obstacles. It's very simple to create a MOAP object. However MOAP attempting to play shoutcast "radio stations" gets this error: Which seems to eliminates a large source of potential content. Some other internet radio "stations" will play but it's a mishmash of different interfaces and controls. The MOAP distances for "hearing" can be adjusted to individual preferences but that's a hassle. Thank you for being able to clearly define the issues I have with MOAP regarding radios. Our rentals currently use a MOAP television for the video preferences of our rentals. MOAP (as far as I'm currently aware) just doesn't support many radio options. In regards to the fact that each parcel has only one stream in which to use, I am aware of that fact. ^.^
  24. We are looking for a scriptor to help us build a radio system for our rental business. What we desire is a radio system that has a central prim on the sim which talks to other remotes in the rentals we provide. We want this radio central script to be able to have a list of stations that the remotes can call upon from anywhere on the parcel, and it should be easy to update the station list. We have many rentals on one parcel so the more traditional giving a deeded radio to each owner will not suffice. If anyone has comments about our desires or wishes to help us in this endeavor (or has knowledge about a product that does something like this already) please IM Me inworld or send a reply to this post. Thank you!
