While I do agree generally, being "short" doesn't equal "kid avatar". I've seen many avatars obviously with the proportions of a child or young teen who are taller than me (which is 1.82m, according to the Appearance tool in Firestorm) - and I did work hard to create a shape with the proportions of an adult.

Dunno, I've never bought a shape. I used the Appearance settings to create my own. There are good tutorials on the internet how to create well-proportioned shapes (for people who draw tho), and over at SLUniverse, there also was a tutorial on how to create a well-proportioned shape inworld, elaborated by @Vaelissa Cortes if I remember correctly. However, I bought my current skin and hair like 5y ago - and haven't changed shape nor skin since then. Even though I'm now wearing a Maytreia Lara mesh body around my shape, I still wear my system head and my flexi hair (when not wearing the hood, anyways). Why I prefer the old flexi hair? Simple: Because it looks and moves more naturally than mesh hair.

I have a newbie outfit which I put on whenever I'm a fog at login. Once that is loaded,, I go back to the shape and outfit I usually wear.

A (female) friend of mine (JonaWebster Resident) played an androgyn teenager for a long time - back then she mostly wore Jeans, DocMartens and wide sweaters or tshirts, had short hair, and used to act very tomboyish. Her back-then best friend even used to wear a self-made tshirt reading "Jona's not my BOYfriend" on its front. I need to ask her next time we're both inworld which shape she used, and where she bought her clothes back then..I do remember though that her hair used to be a dark brown version of "Natalie" from a shop named "sWEET HAIRs sWEET FACEs", because I'm wearing a blonde version of the same hair when not wearing my hood.

Btw, Klytyna: Singularity is not a V1.x- clone: It's - just like the Cool VL Viewer - rather a rather current SL Viewer, underneath the UI of V1.x. The latest Singuiarity Alpha Build even has all shinys and stuffs the latest SL viewer has - my only objection to the latest Singularity (Build 6937, from two weeks ago) is that it's just an Alpha Build, not a stable release yet

That escalated quickly. Anyhow: I don't really recommend using the SIngularity Viewer anymore - simply because any known version after June 2016 has been an Alpha build, so there may be nasty bugs. If you really need a stable slick viewer with the look & feel of a V1.x, I recommend the Cool VL Viewer. Though not on the official TPV list, it's TPV-policy compliant. And it's always up-to-date (it's updated once a week at best)

When I still was roleplaying (on Gor, at a Fantasy setting, and later at Highschool settings), I did create background stories for my designated RP-Accounts according to their RP - though I only wrote "Find it out during RP" in their profiles. Yeah I know, some consider BDSM in SL to be nothing but RP as well, but I don't count it in.
