  1. I love Stardew Valley ♥ but, unless you have friends to play with - it can get lonely talking to NPC's... I have to give many kudos to Eric Barone/ConcernedApe -- he has provided excellent support over the years and genuinely seems to care about the customer satisfaction of his user base. LL could learn from that. (wink) I wish I could find more ways to be creative in SL ... but my lack of skills hinders me in that area. I've said before, I wish it was easier to build/create in SL ... but most do not agree (and I can understand how it would impact the "economy" of SL ).... I wasn't going to respond to this thread - so many like it and I've said all I have to say, but I had to give props to Stardew 🙂
  2. Thank you! I did do a clean install ... hoping that helps a lot. I lost several items from my inventory and all my settings were erased... so weird. I've never had issues in the past. I have a fairly new high end computer, but I will certainly take your advice and give it some checking! Thank you!
  3. The latest Firestorm has been nothing but trouble for me! Same computer, so.... Freeze, kicks, lose all my settings! I get kicked out, come back and my clothes are different colors, etc. Very frustrating!
  4. I miss the friends I had when I first came to Second Life. We came over from another chat program and had so much fun exploring and learning. It was a laugh a minute back then!!
  5. I do believe they can care about getting new customers AND care about existing customers at the same time. I agree, we need an influx of new to keep going and to grow. Cable companies are the best example of my peeve with the way a lot (not all) companies do business - I say these days, because customer service is at an all time low - at least in the USA. They spend ALL their efforts on getting new customers, do NOT take care of current customers, but if you leave they spend a lot of money trying to get you back! I don't think LL / SL is as bad as cable companies and cell phone companies (two of the worst @ customer service) .... but they do (based on all the posts I've read) seem to keep their distance, which makes some residents feel abandoned / forgotten / unheard.
  6. Typical of most businesses these days, all they care about it getting *new* customers and increasing the bottom line. They figure most of us will stick around as long as things don't get too bad.
  7. I’m a simple person. I can play games that allow me to be creative and all I have to spend is the initial purchase price of the game and maybe a bit more for DLC now and then. It’s infinitely less “complicated” and less expensive than my efforts (to be creative) have been in Second Life. Second Life is not a game, it’s a virtual world [ I understand that ] – but you still need to have things to do for it to be fun. Exploring other people’s creative efforts is fun, but not endlessly so…. SL tends to attract what I call Engineer types. Intelligent and talented folks who understand how to build and create in SL – (what programs they use along with SL is beside the point for me) and then there are the rest of us…. I was suggesting that, if we want to attract and retain people – it would be helpful if creating was simplified. If everything about SL was simplified and less expensive (to be honest). No you don’t have to pay for premium or spend a lot of houses and clothes … but that brings us back to … you still need to have things to do for fun…. being creative is fun for me, and I wish I was better at it in SL is really all I was alluding to.
  8. Congratulations!! I've seen a lot of change in my years - but not as much as you have! Glad to see you are still here. Happy belated Rez Day !
  9. I've tried Genus, Catwa & Lelutka -- I like Lelutka best. I like the looks of it and the ease of use / the hud. You just missed a freebie for Christmas - they seem to give away a free head every year. I missed it the first couple times, so I really kept an ear out for it this year. I think Genus has a free head all the time .... but I could be wrong. I still ask for help too !! Good luck, hope you find something you really like.
  10. Clothing, for one, has become a great deal more complicated with mesh. I'm not an expert in any of this, so I'm not sure what other choices (besides Blender) there are - but everything I've looked at is a bit more complicated that paint shop. Building has always been more complicated in Second Life than it is in any game I've ever played - such as Sims. I do realize that if anyone could do it - everyone would do it - and no one would be able to sell their builds. I do, however, think - it would help retain folks in SL if the process were less complicated. Just my humble 2 cents.
  11. I have a long list of items I have de-rendered permanently - but I've never blocked anyone (avatar / person)....
  12. As the years have passed, creating in SL has become infinitely more complicated. It would be absolutely wonderful if it was easier to create and build - for those of us, who are not friends with Blender, etc. 😉

  14. I'm sorry for the error above. I can't edit this post. DJ's should be DJs...... Thanks, Maureen.
