  1. zombie michelle with a bottle of jamesons full of pureed brains? I do so miss those "corrupt a wish" threads that were all the rage once.
  2. maybe, maybe not... but I find it amusing that the name is considered by a great many to be fouler than it's definition
  3. keyword hilighting in the editor window for scripts is dependent on the viewer... you can add it yourself to one of the text files, but eventually a viewer update will add it in.
  4. Reference: Santorum (who is still having a google crisis, and had to add a paid ad as the only way to put his website on top)
  5. no arguments here.... used to be it was quite easy to get quick simple fix, from someone that knew what you were referring to. now it's all automated cut and paste with no understanding of what you are saying, and seeming little effort to try. I'm actually old enough here to remember when you could just click a button inworld, and get a linden that was actually online. PS hope you didn't think that my FFS was directed towards you... it's aimed squarely at some of the misguided (and absurd) replies you received though
  6. be careful what you wish for.... or at least more specific (as there are so many things that could make it a horror rather than a delight). might be useful to pursue a course that gets you nearer that possibility too, but that might require forgoing football =D
  7. I never saw martydom as selfless... merely as contributing without actually having to do anything else. All motives can be reduced to selfish ones with little effort, we just define selflessness as benefiting others more.
  8. actually, no, although I agree that the coppenhagen interpretation is valid from a localized perspective. I just can't conscious the idea of a qualified observer... I prefer an intersectional interpretation allowing for both local and non-local affinity groups as well as generalized recombination and separation. but even at that, given a set of all possibilities only the locally possible should occur, enforcing a quasi deterministic state locally, and likely a global boundary line of expansion. for those playing at home, that boils down to "everything that can happen, does... just not all here or now, and many things can overlap" @Carole: I did cheat a bit... not all things can be easily and accurately reduced to concept models, if I say "infinity" the only thing you really know is that it keeps going, but not what it is, so I stole from math for an easy example. and to be fair, the concept isn't the thing, any more than the idea of pink polkadotted elephants in my room makes them actually appear.
  9. as Orfeu pointed out, conceptualizing anything in finite language reduces all infinities. Mathematically, you reduce infinities by placing them in a set, thereby reducing them to one.
  10. as an addendum, Live chat is apparently not allowed to push the reset buttun during rollouts.
  11. Wouldn't it be wiser not to tempt fate That seems like a reasonable assumption Make do with what's available It isn't the only choice of course Good bye is another For some it may be the only option You have to make that choice yourself
  12. yes, naming yourself after an account that has be repeatedly banned for skirting bans (which is itself a bannable offense) probably isn't your best bet.
  13. oh FFS, it's a bug, one that's been known forever... ejecting an av from a group doesn't remove them from group chat, because it doesn't reinitialize the chat handle which is already being held on the persons viewer... as long as they have the active handle, they can message the group (in effect this last till they log out). this should be solved by chat moderation controls for groups, which should be available from the chat participants list for group members with moderation powers. use them before ejection. as to the OP's actual question, Live help should have mentioned the above, at least the part about moderation, but generally I've only found live help to be useful for quickly getting a region reboot, or cleanups of griefer trash after they've been booted from a public area. They don't appear to have any any access to AR reports nor ability to act on them.
  14. Talitha Midal wrote: What is compiler access? in this case she meant being inworld where saving the script would have caught the error in what she posted.... saving a script compiles it, so it acts like a spellchecker for scripting. @Ela: we all do it don't sweat it.... it's why it's good to have a community to catch the little errors when we're trying to quickly help.
  15. heck, why go with variations.... any name would do... can you imagine the chaos of everyone showing up with the exact same name? it's already been used as a griefing tool, and pointed out... in fact it was pretty much the first thing pointed out when DN's came up
  16. Eloise Baily wrote: [...] You may not like my opinion, but then, I may not like yours. I voice mine rarely these days. you should though... it's not about changing the mind of the person you are talking to (that rarely happens) but it does give them something to consider, and everyone reading gets multiple perspectives to make up their mind with. assuming of course it's a debate topic rather than just an informational one =) as for the rest of your post... I've been accused of most of that (heck you may have even had me in mind for all I know =D), so allow me to present a flip side to that.... certain people have a tendency to take disagreement and constructive criticism as a personal attack, no matter how gently you peddle it... a few other even take advantage of people willing to soft sell their disagreement to try and up their social status. the only sane response is not to bother with the soft sell for those people, because they're only interested in playing victim for sympathy so the big bad meanies will be forced by everyone to agree with them (no matter how wrong they may be). I don't really see any joy to be had in that kind of exchange, but maybe I'm not the proper sort of troll
  17. thanks for that though... if I'd realized at the time someone was doing that... :: scowls :: lets just say I have an extremely low opinion of people playing retcon and fantasy facts games.
  18. I realize, I just thought I'd clue in any readers who didn't know where that was coming from... sadly I wouldn't be too surprised if you end up being right on that... after all, they already stripped classified (which were half useful in helping tell the legit businesses from the content thieves) ETA@ Arkady: think Primary School... ~10-15yo (lower than that is considered "elementry", and beyond is considered "high" until the end of compulsory school)
  19. no need for a resident to be profane... just disingenuous... if they insert whatever negative comment they want, it'll still be a mess. AC isn't the first UG to post transcripts with display names though, and you'd have thought they'd learned from the others that have done it... no one can tell who is who, and in many cases you couldn't even tell who the lindens where =/
