  3. For me Flickr is one of the best place to discover new things quickly and follow stores
  4. Someone's trash is other's treasure. Look at those cars! Just a little bit duct tape on the side and it's good to go!
  5. You can fix any mismatching seams easily in most 3D softwares by texture painting tools. (You paint around the 3D object's seams and it get's projected to the flat 2D textures). The SL classic avatar's 3D files can be downloaded freely. http://lecs-opensource.secondlife.com/fittedmesh/SecondLifeAvatarSkeleton.zip
  6. Best approach would be to use the same mesh, for the bodies, but fitted and aligned to each body by pushing the verticles around, this way you keep the same UVs, same maps. Whenever possible, I do this.
  7. I'm already using for some of my projects, and honestly can say, 2.8 is the best Blender so far. Even it's still beta, seems pretty stable too!
  8. No one can criticize my candy consumption habits! ....yea, I smoke more than I should, you're right on that.
  9. After cooking the next batch of... well, cotton candy. Yes, just cotton candy in all the boxes.
  10. Very-very useful feature, looking forward to try it!

  12. Older every day, don't even bother washing the clothes
  13. Buying various mesh from different sources won't make the work coherent. Different modelling styles, textures, shading. One of the most important thing of content creation is to stay consistent, which stock models will just blow. Plus as said above, they are mostly not optimized for SL.
  14. To increase the chance finding a partner for you, give more info. Imagine yourself as a CEO of a corporation. If you would like to attract the attention of potential partners, you need to describe your brand, your vision, the direction you want to go along. Since you are looking for someone with similiar ideas and taste, first you need to describe yours.
  15. Situation is the same on the other side. Difficult for a proper mesher with experience to find reliable clients with enough funds. Above a level, a good mesher only works for real wage and it is out of the budget for the casual user. Most commonly only store owners can afford to hire an extra mesher for themselves.
  16. Pick up Blender for 3D instead of Gimp. Blender is the most supported free 3D application, and many use it for SL content creation.
  17. Hi, I am having troubles uploading quality textures (official viewer). Back in the past I had no troubles at all with smooth textures, but for some reason I get pixellated textures at any resolution now, even on 1024. It is especially looks terrible on normal maps. Below the picture shows the result of an 1024 normal map, which looks perfect and smooth in Blender. I guess there is a compression issue while uploading. Anyone have an idea how to solve this?
