I signed into my acount using the password but when I try to change my email address to my new one it tells me that the password I used is wrong? I am changig provider so I really need to change it soon plus I can't get at my present email account right now because some problems present provider's site is having. Help! All cookies and history was cleared out yesterday. That was also done and I used another browser with the same result, it still will not accept the password that I signed in with? The first browser was Google Chrome this time I used Firefox.. Edit: I use a lot of letters numbers and symbols, could the problem be that the web site accept some them when logging in but not for other uses? Edit 2: Ty I think that worked for me, at least it didn't refuse it but the old one i showing in the box so I guess that's just cookie grabbing. :)

it could be a slow internet connection, a friend of mine had this problem and it solved it's self but do try the other solutions Grace. Even another viewer might help such as Nirans.

At present it's school holidays on America and the UK so there is a big increase in users both of the internet and SL, make sure that you are hard wired first, reset your connection. Reduce draw distance to 96, particles down to as low as possible, zero is even better. if you are wired your bandwidth can't be over 500, wired 1000. Next go into your preferences find the tab with the link to your cache, open that, find the texture cache folder and delete the contents, your viewer soon rebuilds them. Texture back up on your computer makes it slow and slows SL also clear that and then if you still have problems do a male test, or character test depending on your viewer. Failing all that try clearing all cache and if you still have problems do a clean re install. I dislike 'resident' but one way would be to make a name like johnsmith then when you log in split that name up and give yourself John Smith as your chosen name. I did this for one of my alts and it looks far better.

We have a similar problem on our sim. We are able to pick up prims but 2 of my residents have false prim counts while mine is stable and shows true prim counts.

I've done all of that already Thinkerer. defrag; doesn't need it yet after reformatting, new router also and plugged in, I don't like wifi it's easily highjacked. Restet is more times than I care to recount over the last week and half and rang my SP people and given them headaches.etc etc...

Yes my fan does seem to be working hard when SL loads up, that's a good idea ty peggy I will do..

Thanks Shockwave, that sounds a lot more hopeful just depending on the price of RAM in the UK but adding more RAM is certainly a lot easier than sorting out a new Graphics card for my machine. The new one was a Christmas present from my son and I would hate to tell him that it was the wrong type

System specs after major upgrade and reformating inc new graphics card supposedly SL freindly: Windows7 Processor: intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00 GHz Installed memory (RAM) 1.5o GB System type 32 bit Operating system I manage to log in long enough to reply to three messages IF I am lucky mostly just one and I am making my replies short and sweet. I have done clean reinstalls in all Viewers I use, SL Viewer, Phoenx, didn't bother with Firestorm this time and I have since removed them and tried the beta viewer and nothing has improved. I have turned down my settings to the minimum I dare because i build, cleared all cache and computer history and cookies. My next step is to get my server to check my server speed but I don't hold out much hope that the speed is the problem as this area normally has a good server speed :(

Something isn't right and that's for sure. I am now blaming my Server because I have the same problems as his partner. Today I have a new modem installed because I haven't been able to access the internet for more than 2 or 3 hours a day for the last week. Tonight I have clean downloads of 2 viewers, the Lindens own and the last version of Phoenix before the new mesh enabled version and I can't stay in Second life longer than 3 minutes! This is getting to be really annoying and upsetting.

That has crossed my mind pussycat but I wanted a bit more reassurance after all the work I put into my sim. No I didn't break tos, the noob was being rude and spiteful when we were perfectly civil even helped them out the last time they were on the sim.

Thanks, and yes it was a typo, I booted her and banned her from my sim. I feel a lot better about it now, thanks everyone.

Thanks Amethist, that does help. I rent a full homestead and it's my first so I am still learning.

I am just worried that she sent in some made up offence such as sexual harrasment, I know of one person who got banned from SL because of 2 noobs doing that.
