  1. If you deleted that calling card, it's gone just like any other inventory item. if you remember the name or parts of it, search might help you out in finding that person. Or perhaps you remember a group you had in common, so you can check the member list. Or perhaps you're in the habit of saving your conversation logs for long, long times, then you might find a saved chat log with that person.
  2. And THEN you turn it into a report party with all your friends. Rumours are that reports from a big number of different avatars get more attention than multiple reports from the same reporter.
  3. It's actually not that much different from the old the old concept of a shape and a skin. A shape, here: the Bento mesh head (plus the system shape beneath it, but let's just ignore that bit for now), provides the basic outline of your facial structure. The applier puts on the skin. You just don't wear the system skin from your inventory, but hit a button on a HUD. Now, to add to your confusion ... AKERUKA also has Bento mesh heads for about 3000 L, the latest release seems to be Asian inspired. On the preview for the Tres Chic shopping event, I noticed a skin applier by Le Forme for that head, which might appeal to you:
  4. Maybe try logging in on Firestorm, then hit the Avatar menu, "Avatar Health" quite in the middle of the menu, then the subpoint "Recreate LSL Bridge". If that won't help, hit up the Firestorm Support group inworld or check the wiki on their page.
  5. In general: what Alwin said ... unless you'd be wiling to add that extra symbol on the underwear layer, which won't be as "skintight" as the tattoo layer.
  6. The laptop is actually far from crap, it's a very decent business version. Just not meant for anything graphical demanding with that low end AMD card. Is it still on 2 GB RAM and a 32bit OS? There should be a spare, easy to reach RAM slot to add up to 8 GB. You might actually find a good second-hand offer and then reinstall a 64bit Windows 10 version. Or Linux, if you're fine with that. Optionally, replace the HDD with a SSD, which you can keep using in a better machine. As an alternative viewer, perhaps try Henri Beauchamp's Cool Viewer.
  7. Does your landlord have anything in the profile picks that looks like a main office or any other place where there might be a land group inviter object?
  8. At least you're getting what you seem to be hoping for Kristen comes to the forums and points you to a ticket specifically created for you after all your textart whine ... that's like a completely unique act to witness in LL's way of communicating ... and you completely ignore that and keep whining in public that you have to whine in public. That's such absurdly fascinating entertainment.
  9. I got very found memories of those days when SLink feet were new on the market ... my hesistant self made the remark that it would be wonderful if you could switch from the flat feet to medium or high with just the click of a button, instead of manually detaching one option and attaching the other. Numerous creators leashed out and bitched how one could possibly make such a dumb idea of wasting resources and driving up script count and everything. I did chuckle when Maitreya came around with just that "click of a button" feature and nobody complained.
  10. For my liking, the SLink Physique body could be your best bet for a more fully figured male body. But your biggest problem will be matching mesh clothing. Even if it is fitted or "liquid" mesh, way too many pieces are rather slim tailored and ruin the illusion of a beefy body.
  11. I can't name any complete system that does this straight out of the box. But it shouldn't be too complicated to come up with a pretty easy workaround - easy if you have matching animations, at the very least. Hit the stores for nice flight and hover animations and compose your own AO set using those anims for your regular walks and stands. Maybe play around with your avatar's hover height for an even better effect. That shouldn't actually look too shabby.
  12. Intentionally attempting to derail from the original concern: In various group chats, I keep reading statements like "my TP HUD took like 100 attempts in the past few minutes to get me into that crowded sim". As I understand, those HUDs keep sending teleport attempts over and over again. Isn't that effectively DDOS-ing the sim / the server it runs on?
  13. Like Whirly stated above, that statement shows a s MotD when you log in ... unless you have disabled the login screen. If you are afraid of any scam links, then go to your SL Dashboard, Account menu and sub-menu "Change Email Address".
  14. The hardware is old, fullstop. You might actually be better off with Win10, since there is lots of positive feedback on how well it suits older hardware. Try to find a good offer for a valid key ... not one of those shady 10 bucks "hey, I fell of a truck" copies ... and you can get the Windows install ISO straight from Microsoft, so you can either burn it to a disc on your own or configure a boot stick. The Windows Media Creation tool will assist you with either option. You should still be able to upgrade a Win7 key to a Win10 one, if you reguster your key and link it to your Microsoft account.
  15. That laptop uses an APU, which means that the CPU also includes an integrated graphics chip instead of a dedicated graphic card. It should be able to cope with basic requirements, if your expectations aren't high and you can't find anything better. Maybe check if the harddrive can be replaced by a SSD to speed up the whole system.
  16. Perhaps take another look at your old body HUD, especially on the mask mode buttons for the various layer options. It's not unlikely that at least one layer had an active mask mode, something which wasn't automatically enabled in the update.
  17. Besides the issues already brought up, how about adding Omega appliers to your outfits? The basic dev kit, which will cater to numerous bodies currently on the market, is actually free to grab. You can easily give it a try with your existing texture uploads.
  18. LinuxGod4u wrote: A- AMD graphics do not work well with SL; especially loading (rezzing) mesh I'm tempted to remark that the quoted prejudice is rather fiction than fact. Both AMD and NVidia can have their own set of problems when new drivers are released and both screwed up on pretty equal terms. However, at the moment, neither are known to have any gamebreaking issues with their software. The problem here is quite simple: a weak CPU and its theoretically advanded integrated graphic unit aren't up to the demands of the SL environment. Back to the original topic: It's probably not a bad idea to run the same viewer as your room mate to quickly get help and hints. The menu structure and the user interface differ quite a lot.
  19. Quite likely that the OP has moved one after 3 weeks without reply, but well... LinuxGod4u wrote: I have yet to try Nvidia's GTX 1050 2GB DDR5 cards, but all benchmarks/reviews are great. I have certain doubts about the "all" part, because there are plenty stating that the non-Ti version isn't worth any purchase at all. Since you're open-minded about AMD, why not look at the RX 460 instead for your tests? With 4 GB, that is... Plus, 120 GB SSDs are a bad buy considering that you pay almost twice as much per GB compared to 240+ GB ones.
  20. Twice the VRAM for just $10 more: https://www.amazon.com/STRIX-Radeon-Gaming-Graphics-STRIX-RX460-O4G-GAMING/dp/B01K1JVQI4/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1480430570&sr=1-1&keywords=AMD+460+4GB
  21. What's the available budget for now? And what what kind of monitor do you use, what connection options does it have (HDMI / DVI or old VGA)? For current generation parts, look for: CPU: i5-6500 or, if on a tight budget, an i3-6300. Mainboard: mostly make sure that it has all the connections you need, like enough USB slots and such. RAM: 8 GB DDR4 at least, preferably 16 GB. There are different speeds, like DDR4 2133GHz or 2400 GHz. Anything above is only interesting for overclocked systems. Graphics: A GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB VRAM or RX 470 4 GB (entry level). A GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 480 8 GB OR Sapphire RX 470 8 GB for middle class. GTX 1070 for high class. A 240 GB or more SSD as the main drive for the OS and most common programs, plus 1 TB or more HDD for storing data. Optionally, an optical drive. Powered by a 400 to 500w quality brand power supply, rather 400 than 500. Corsair RMx would be highly recommended or Seasonic or EVGA... please never ever any blow-up ware like "800w for 20 bucks!!111" crap if you value your machine, your home and your safety. If you can wait just a few more weeks till January, we'll see both AMD's Zen and Intel's Kaby Lake CPU generations getting released.
  22. That machine still has the original power supply, right? According to the stats, the one the model ships with merely provides 180w. Plus, it's an out of the norm format factor, so replacing it might be tricky. That aside: there is no point in buying a new card of an outdated generation, if the current gen is only $10 more. It would only be worth to consider as used second-hand part. As extra short single slot versions of the Nvidia GTX 1050 ti with 4 GB, there are Zotac and EVGA. Faster performance and twice as much VRAM, which comes in handy for texture-intense SL.
  23. What's your total budget to spend? I wouldn't trust in that thing of a cheapskirt PSU at all, not even to put out those 350w. Especially if it is a couple of years old. A 400w good quality brand power supply will be absolutely fine for a standard current gen gaming machine. 600w (of a good quality brand power supply) will only be needed if you know that your components do demand lots of power.
