  1. I wonder what M Linden did to upset Lellani I guess we'll never know because she 'stabbed him in the back' after the event' and I wonder where Lellani was when other people were complaining about the viewer 2 she disliked...any complaints with the hordes of others then Lellani....?? I wonder if Lellani was there criticising the many who couldnt stand that viewer ...
  2. Okay lindens here's what myself and my gf worked out....if we cancel our premium and rented from someone else you first of all loose two premium payments which we'd naturally cancel - we simply wouldnt need them....we however would save not only the premium payment but the vat which we wouldnt have to pay either.....youve never done anything about introducing a seperate tiers and charges for non USA members or done anything to cancel out the effect of fluctuating exchange rates either...... We like owning our own region but we feel so damn insulted...and we're sick of not getting anything back or anything to encourage us to pay to you. The new CEO has been a MASSIVE letdown.
  3. We're certainly now reviewing our premium membership...with a view to downgrading.......
  4. Oh what a farce its not even a discount on a FULL YEARS membership......................... these baubles you offer just indicate a company thats desperate AND cheap - although cheap is an adjective which could never be applied to the amount it charges it's customers. Id watch out in case your office develops a door knocker which looks like Jacob Marley....
  5. Ive been a member for four years and never had any 'freebies' from Lindens...the only thing Lindens ever did regards my premium was rapidly slap on v.a.t with less than a weeks warning to implementation... now new members are getting a fifty percent discount. Disgusting and a real slap in the face for loyal customers. WHERE'S MY DISCOUNT LL ???????? I have the feeling that we may as well screw the premium and go and rent from a third party who wouldnt charge v.a.t... I dont want a SOMEONE ELSE'S CHOICE OF HOUSE OR FURNITURE thrust at me. WHAT I DO WANT IS SOMETHING WHICH WOULD ENCOURAGE ME TO STAY A PREMIUM MEMBER - IN OTHER WORDS SOMETHING WORTH HAVING -- FOR EXAMPLE A) CHEAPER TIERS AND A BETTER LAND INCREMENT SYSTEM B) A HIGHER FREE LAND ALLOWANCE C) A MORE RELIABLE SERVICE D) BEING ABLE TO PAY IN MY OWN CURRENCY THROUGH PAYPAL WITHOUT GOING THROUGH SOME THIRD PARTY E) AN INWORLD BUILDING SYSTEM DEVELOPED FROM AND BASED ON THE BUILDING SYSTEM I KNOW. I cant believe people not only think these 'trinkets' proferred by Lindens are worth having but that some of them expect customers who feel genuinely annoyed that there is no reward for their loyalty and nothing to improve the lot of the long term premium member to remain uncritical....
  6. Increase the free land allowance to 2048......get some land selling......
  7. Kim youre being sarcastic aren't you ???
  8. Every person who praises these barmy ideas bangs another nail in the coffin of anything that might actually be useful to members... notice these ideas are cheap, cheap, cheap, they cost lindens nothing to lindens theyre getting their cash for trinkets......besides if they hoping that the recent mesh additions are effective all the newbies will simply make their own stuff....
  9. I cant wait to see what other wonderful gems we can expect in future exciting developments , free prim toilet rolls maybe, or how about lindens sick bags maybe for those occasions when the latest announcements have you heaving your innards out with peels of disbelieving laughter......
  10. Potosi by the way please dont you go asking for tier changes ...they might think you mean in an upward direction lol
  11. Potosi thanks very much...why didn't you try suggesting something actually useful which is what Ive been suggesting for ages... tier changes a greater land allowance for premium members members allowed to pay in their own currencies direct to ll without any middle men more inworld building tools tackling problems like boundary crashes and texture issues which have been going on for years... suggested on every questionaire and in every version of the forum for four years without result...but yay for you potosi you got me access to a sandbox...why dont you suggest each member be given something really useful - a free chocolate teapot comes to mind....
  12. This CEO needs to change his rocket ship avatar for a pair of feet which are more firmly planted in reality.....
  13. This is a joke right ??? Premium membership new features ?A few baubles ?? Access to a sandbox when Im paying a tier for a full region to build in reduction in tier fee instead please.... When the CEO said he was improving the premium membership I expected greater land allowances tier changes... and what do we get dross, dross, baubles and dross. I cant believe long term members of Second life are supposed to take this seriously.
  14. Isnt it nice to pay 200 dollars tier plus the premium payment, get a nice new feature only to have it withdrawn and then be told - after the event - that youre a guinea pig for linden labs ?? Not the sort of customer service Id expect....nor to have 'non linden' forum users (for want of a better word) telling us what we should and shouldnt expect for our money....
  15. I think adding polygons to the build menu would add a new dimension to building, certainly on the sort of futuristic builds I like.... at the moment its ridiculous trying to create something as apparently simple as an equilateral triangle... trying to taper blocks to create polygons is pretty usless...trying to get the angles mathematically correct is hopeless because while the angles of triangles and polygons are fixed the tapering amounts dont seem to correlate to any set of angles...if they do I cant figure them out. If you do make a basic equilateral from a 50 m square as you know you dont get an equilateral with 50m sides - ridiculous... trying to get a set size equilateral witout complex maths is impossible. I find it immensley frustrating that it's impossible to change the slice and taper axes.....its a pity some linden brains arent diverted to this.... but future lindens plans never ever mention anything to do with inworld building updates, the system is basically static and little different to 4 years ago.... what annoys me is to hear the CEO talking about in world creation...yes if youre a technical whizz...surely the way forward is to add to the inworld system anyone who builds KNOWS how to use....
  16. I'm wondering if there are ever going to be any modifications, updates, improvements to the rather static inworld building system. Meshes may be fine and Im sure and it must be great for Linden labs to tell people to go off and find some random bit of software to create stuff to import ( also adding to the Lindens coffers) thus taking the onus away from them to provide the toolbox to create... But the question has never been answered what about those of us who simply want to build using an inworld system of menus, rather than work out of world over a piece of software not being able to see the ultimate result until the money is paid and the piece imported.... I'm sure it must be an easier option for lindens simply to enable the import of items created else where rather than improve the inworld building system...I for example would love an added menu which enabled the creation of polygonal prims - ever tried making an exact sized equilateral triangle in sl, you need a mathematical formula to get an exact size.... What about being able to taper and slice prims along ALL axes.... What about a menu which relays the sizes of a triangular prims sides ?? Is the ability to slice a prim between two points or curve a square edge prim beyond the bounds of acievability... I never seem to be able to get an answer from anyone at Lindens about whats happening to the inworld building system and normally Im flooded with a mass of esponses from 'mesh heads' who seem to think we should just be happy to be getting meshes rather than expecting linden labs to provide some up to day and continually improved tools working with an INWORLD system standard to all sl users and which all builders have learned to use.... Call me old fashioned but I think a tier of 200 dollars plus AND a considerable premium fee rather entitles me to expect linden labs to be providing a system of building in sl rather than expecting me to find further software and then pay more to import what I make.....
  17. I gathered up my build (Its a sim wide space station)....and on the advice of groups and forum contributors I rezzed it in sandbox 9 ...it appeared in sandbox 8, of course in my own region I can set up my build precisely using building tools I have... In sand box 8 pieces of my station were shooting off in all directions, disappearing, failing to resize not responding to 'control and z' to restore them to where they were.... not to mention the presence of 'ghost prims' Something tells me 64m prims wont be in force any time soon for while they seemed to be working okay a few days ago - their performance doesnt seem quite so satisfactory now. Basically I think Lindens should have stuck with working on - and improving the inworld building system but of course why bother when you can tell people go buy some complicated software and import your builds (at additional cost of course)... I thought the current ceo was trying to encourage creation in world....
  18. I had a word with oskar linden and got the same 'lecture'....in effect dont take any new feature for granted... when I spoke to oskar prior to the system being operated in le tigre there was no mention at all that it may be a short term measure .. I assumed naturally that once in force that would be the end of story. I was told Id need a new viewer but I was already prepared for that. I had no idea I was on a release channel, I simply asked for our home sim (mainland) to be made mesh enabled and it was. No one said anything about testing, release channels nor was it suggested that a new feature which i was extremely excited about was possibly only a temporary measure. I asked for our region to be moved to magnum yesterday I got the feeling that oskar wasn't entirely confident it could be done.....nor when he would be able to do it - only that requests would be taken in order. Of course some notification the 64 metre was to be taken away might have been helpful along with an explanation as to why...but no. The first I noticed was when pieces of my build started to snap back to 10 metres... I only found out by enquiring within a group.
  19. so whats the problem ? is the system unsustainable ?...if there is no problem why remove the facility and disrupt the builds/meshes of sl users ? Im not quite in the same position as the person with the mesh buids -Im using the 64 m prim feature and was enjoying a new burst of interest in what a become a static inworld building system ( but here is not the place for arguments about what those of us who pay a massive tier expect) However I was working hard on a space station of which I can no longer edit the majority of pieces...its all very well saying I was using - and relying - on a system that was being tested - no one actually pointed out that the 64 m prim limit would be introduced only to be removed a very short while later. After enjoying the first new feature to an otherwise static and unchanging INWORLD building system Im extremely disappointed that after only few days it seems Linden labs is either unable to maintain or support this feature.
  20. I couldnt give a stuff about meshes - while Im sure theyre all very well for the techs who can use the vastly complex techniques involved great... but for the rest of us who want to be building in world Lindens should be providing an ever improving and evolving INWORLD building system using tools and menus provided for lindens as part ofthe massive premium and tier fees we pay.... the one improvement that I saw coming out of this was 64 m prims has now been taken away from my region almost as soon as it became available...And I hate to contradict Charles Liden but I see this as a massive backward step and as far as this builder's concerned a massive inconvenience....
  21. From what I can gather making meshes involves a lot of creation using software you then import the result (at cost ) presumably that means if something needs 500 pieces as I understood lillith to mean its going to cost 5000 lindens... which Im sure has the top dogs at Lindens drooling like crazy... of course if you can rez a prim in world and then cut shape and mould it and see the results instantly that extra income doesnt exist.... And if you didnt make a piece for your build correctly you simply start again restting the figures on your menu - if youre an inworld builder no need even to learn new software youre simply building on what you know....
  22. Quote me the bit where I said I dont want mesh ..... Meshes and what Id like to see happen with In world building ( as far as Im aware you cant build inworld with meshes you have to import them..) are two different things all together I just see meshes as being used instead of further developing in world building....
  23. I think we should be able to add fonts to prims by now too And add our own text to anything we build.
  24. I said it ages ago.. Mesh for those who want them...Me I want more in world building options... the ability to have a decent range of triangular prims would be a good start and why are features like tapering and slicing arranged so that you can only apply them to one set of axes ?? Would being able to slice a prim anywhere between two points be so difficult to achieve ? And what about being able to round the corners on prims... ?? Mesh simply takes the onus away from Lindens to provide more in world building options.... I can think of many new building features but you ccant even get near the boys with the technical knowledge to find out if theyre feasible. And we dont seem to hear anything at all about whats going to happened to inworld building which appears to be trapped in a static bubble with very little new since I joined 4 years ago... Mesh also take the fun of building inworld away you dont do the building in world (something I thought lindens would have wanted to promote) and you dont see your constructs take shape until you paid to import the pieces...
  25. At least the ticket submitted about our region was dealt with quickly . This TJ lINDEN guy seems to know what's what. Thanks
