  1. Id be happy with 99% hollowing of prims, larger prims,  a new range of polygonal prims ( I think its barmy the maths you have to go through to get a correctly sized equilateral triangle) with a menu that correctly reflcts the sizes of the sides of the polygons and more ways of varying the angles.

I also think its quite ludicrous that tapering prims can only be achieved through a limited number of axes and a fixed set of angles. The torus can only be reduced to a cetain width if you look at its cross section and the supposed 95% hollowing of the tetrahedral prim is still nothing like 95% rendering it usless in the construction of  buildings especially in futuristic builds where a correctly hollowed tetrahedra would be a fantastic addition....

And when are we going to be able to add text to prims ?? I may not have the desire to become a whizz with the technology of mesh but I have the imagination to see new ideas and ways of making inworld building more interesting ...and that comes simply from the experience of inworld building and wanting to achieve more with a system whose basis I already know and understand and which I would be more useful to the majority of builders in sl...

  2. I have no argument with anyone who thinks building outside sl using a mass of complex software and then paying to import the stuff they made is a way of being 'drawn into' SL ...my problem with mesh has always been - and its quite obvious - that while Lindens have promoted mesh it took away the onus on them to provide building software - even the lindens 'tutorial' on mesh was nothing more than a warning about copyright breaches - no advice on the software to use or how to go about making mesh based items ! It also caused a total stasis in inworld building with nothing new ( bar the introduction of 64 m prims as standard - still not big enough !) when we could be getting new methods of shaping and cutting prims, newly shaped prims etc.

Lindens should be providing the tools to build with in view of the fees they charge and they should be adding new features to those building systems to keep the art of inworld building alive and vibrant.

The introduction of mesh basically stopped any development with the inworld building system at all. And as a result in world building is becoming dull and repetitive.....

Mesh takes away the pleasure of inworld building and turns building into labouring over complex software only to then pay to import something you dont even know is going to look good once it arrives in world.

  3. The thing that continues to astound me about this forum is the total lack of posts screaming for a better service , better value for money and better customer care.

Its clear from the CEOs recent posts that Linden Labs have that same old feeling that people should bow down and be grateful they can spend their dosh on a service giving diminshing returns... rather than doing all he can to boost customer confindence and giving more to the long term devotee of sl rather than throwing out crumbs to lure in newcomers....

  4. Just get sl working properly and screw all the tech smart asses please......We had em whining for mesh and with what effect ...virtually none... Meanwhile the lag worsens, the crashes on tp worsen, the building menu is stuck in stasis without anything new to please the inworld builder.

I want a bigger monitor to see sl on not something which harkens back to miniature screens of the 1950s tv set....

  5. And if people are so absolutely up in arms about censorship why havent there been a few more complaints about the mysterious deletions of posts from this forum... ????

Lindens is hardly blameless when it comes to the subject of censorship so would probably hardly be able to take the 'high ground' over any censorship issues....

  6. Im not misreprensenting anything the law is aimed to stop copyright theft... people here have been moaning about copyright theft to the point of going to court...now theres a law promising to stop that and people start bleating about censorship...

Could it be thata few people realise that maybe theyre not going to be able to download their free music , films etc anymore ??

The forums were full of moans about copyright theft etc...now someone is going to try and put a stop to it... Surely theyre giving the people on these forums what they wanted...or deserved....

  7. And the problem isn't that my posts are deja vu , but the people citing lag problems are...and why  - because lindens dont tackle the issue... it's up to non- lindens staff to try and do the job lindens should be doing  and if pointing out the generally lacking nature of  the company makes mr mister grumpy pants rather than a disatisfied paying customer Im sure that helps lindens off the hook again.

  8. Hello Mr Grumpy pants here again !!

So basically penny what youre saying is that the resources allocated by lindens aren't high enough or the script system they put in place is prone to use in such a way that it causes lag...

therefore the ones to blame are linden labs and really its up to them to tighten up on these issues and sort them out. So really people are on the basis of what youre saying right in blaming lindens because basically its their system which is prone to 'misuse'
