  1. I have the Ti version of the GTX650. I get very stable results with these graphics settings: Quality slider half way between Mid and High. Disabled Advance Lighting. Disabled Shadows. Water reflections minimal. Draw distance 128m. Disabled Avatar Cloth. I have the same OS as you, the same CPU except mine is 2nd gen (yours is newer 3rd gen), the same amount of RAM. I use the current default LL viewer and the current NVIDIA driver. The 650 is a relatively inexpensive card and my experience is that it runs SL well only at moderate graphic settings. For the price, I think it's pretty good.
  2. I think flexi is client-side and collision would need it to be server-side. maybe.
  3. I think the easiest way to do this is by using a pose ball with a walk animation. Sit on the pose ball and you can pan your camera around in the normal way to see how your outfit looks when you walk. If you want to use the walk from your favorite AO, first make sure the AO is copyable then rez the AO on the ground, look at its contents in the edit window and drag the walk anim to your inventory. Next rez a copyable pose ball, drag the walk anim from your inventory to the contents tab of the pose ball, then delete whatever anim was already in the pose ball. If the pose ball doesn't seem to work correctly when you sit on it then reset the script - edit / contents / double click the script to open it / click on the reset button. Remember to rename the pose ball so you can find it next time you go shopping. edit to add: This is what I do for a full size avie. I don't really know how a tiny works on pose balls, so this might be a waste of your time.
  4. I've had that problem recently and found something that works for me. When I remove all of my tattoo layers, then my clothing loads fine. And I can put the tats back on and everything works ok. The problem comes back after a while and I have to repeat the fix.
  5. An update on my post - A friend of mine just tried the same change to max bandwidth and said it made no difference at all. He's using Win XP with a single core pentium 4 and a Radeon HD 3650 AGP card. He's getting good frame rates but his cpu use stays at 100%. His graphics are set to the lowest levels and he disabled everything he could. And he said he's getting more packet loss with the higher bandwidth setting. His pc is pretty old, so maybe the change I made only helps with newer hardware.
  6. I was having issues until today when I changed my max bandwidth from 1500 to 4000kps. My issues were high CPU (4 cores all running around 60 to 80% or 3 out of 4 running very high), slow loads and reduced frame rate. I saw so much improvement after I changed bandwidth that I thought LL must have fixed something else at exactly the same time that I made the change. I even went looking on Grid Status and Forums to find out what they did. Didn't find anything. Currently when I've cached everything in view and I'm not moving or am moving around just a little I get 100 fps (compared to around 20 yesterday), CPU fluctuates on all 4 cores at around 20 to 30% (was 60-80) and my bandwidth is between 10 and 200 kps (compared to about 1000 yesterday). If I move around outside the area that's cached (my draw distance is 120M) everything loads quickly and smoothly and CPU use jumps 10 to 20 points but comes down quickly. I think I've only noticed CPU hit 80% today while the viewer was loading - for the past few days the viewer took 100% to load. Speedtest says I get dl speed 7Mbps Boston (near me), 5Mbps Dallas and 2Mbps SF. I get those results more or less whenever I check it. My conection is broadband cable, my nic is 10/100/1000 but I don't get 1000 from the modem or from the cable service I pay. Today I was at a big clothing store (4 floors wall to wall vendors) and it loaded quickly. I panned my camera around the store - something I couldn't do yesterday without pretty much freezing. I bought 1 outfit and got 2 free gifts. I don't know how this setting can make so much difference or if it was a problem unique to me, but give it a try if you're having issues with the current viewer.
