  1. Maybe there is data missing from your mesh, and it's not uploadable. How long did it take you to determine that it's Linden Labs' fault? Try reviewing the requirements for mesh uploads, and checking for those in your model. Also, try uploading a simple cube with no complex information like materials on it, but with a UV map. If this doesn't work, then you have a problem, but I doubt it won't since I have had plenty of success uploading complicated meshes with materials, UV maps, over 2000 faces, 4 LOD's from files, and even edge splits. Try not to insult the creators of a game (world) you enjoy. If you enjoy it, you should be glad they made it, and willing to accept what changes they make to their creation, because they have every right to do with it what they will.
  2. Listen up. I have noticed 'bugs' with uploading as well. This isn't a cause to start running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Perhaps there are some more variables to consider that safeguard or refine the process, so maybe you should all try something before you start shouting and waving picket signs at the creators of Second Life. The issue I have had is that my calculate button is grayed out despite green checks across the board. I tried restarting the upload window without making any changes to my files (all LOD's were loaded from files), and this didn't work. The failure occured after loading LOD1 (second from lowest), which made it clear to me that recent changes I made to LOD3 and LOD2 were responsible. The changes were edge splits to correct the shading on my model. Apparently, I have reduced the problem to one of two things: either the edge splits were changing the recognized properties of the mesh and causing inconsistencies that the uploader doesn't like (for good reason), or the uploader has a problem combining files which were saved at dates or times too far apart (seems unlikely). So here's my two cents: either -The uploader has tightened its restrictions on differences in meshes between levels of detail or -The uploader has problems loading files with dissimilar times of creation by a certain margin Check your mesh! Make sure there is the same number of texturable faces (both materials and UV layout sections or "islands" in your 3D program,). If this doesn't work, find out when the uploader fails and determine what changed at that point. Post it here or report what you have discovered to help resolve the problem for everyone. Whatever you do, don't make yoru first action screaming and complaining to the creators of the game. If you treat them like idiots, maybe they'll just take it all down and leave you completely screwed.
