  1. Slendie's dancing along to DJ Bela really. Look - hands in the air and everything!
  2. I'd love it to be something like 2-4 water regions from anything else in all directions - so you sail, and sail, and sail, and eventually you come across this mysterious new land.... Ooh. Wonder if on water sims, our lovely moles could do something like the entire continent being shrouded in fog, that you have to pass through to see it?
  3. Is there a way to sell the fish? Honest question.
  4. I think most folks would find that a little simplistic. We're not likely to get a EU regulation banning the (often quoted in this thread) gumball machines. It's a matter of gradation. A line will be drawn. We can pretty much guarantee that gumball machines and those toys in bubbles will be on one side of it, and Lootboxes and gacha will be on the other.
  5. What about this as posted above? https://www.abc.ca.gov/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Law-Enforcement-Advisory-Illegal-Gambling-Devices-1.pdf
  6. As I understand it, from a strictly legal point of view, there is no difference here. If you can't guarantee you know what you're getting for your money, then that's seen as gambling. Taking your example, that might be seen as being a bit stupid. And I wouldn’t disagree. But what we have here is a situation where legislators have come up with what could be easily argued as an over-big stick to clamp down on the problems caused by rare items being necessary to progress in a game (or to complete a collection, or be the only thing worth having). LL however must run its business inside the regulatory climate as it sees it. That’s just the way that is.
  7. Complain to your elected representatives. They set the rules. LL has to follow.
  8. Thing is, you knew exactly the figures you bought way back in the 90s. That makes it OK. With gachas you don't 100% know what you are paying for, That makes it not OK.
  9. I know. But at least the ban on Gachas has made it better.
  10. Might get. It's not guaranteed, therefore you're taking a chance. That's gambling.
  11. LL aren't making that excuse. LL are saying they need to follow the law in the territories in which they operate. You think that the law is wrong? Contact your representatives.
  12. The reason is that LL is likely to get sued or regulated out of existence. As for your list of things: LL has nothing to do with any of them so I dunno how they are relevant as comparisons. The best thing about SL burgers is that you can eat as many as you want and *never* get fat (except by your own choice!)
  13. Refinement I think: they are disallowed if someone who does not pay money into it has a different chance of winning than someone who does pay money into it.
  14. "It's the law in places we operate and we need to comply"?
  15. As I understand it, there are legal issues here, or coming very soon, in several large jurisdictions domestically and internationally in which SL operates. Their hand is basically forced here, don't blame them.
  16. For sale - my beachside plot on Quetzal. You won't get a better sunset view in Second Life: it faces westward over the protect beach and water sim of Hydro - your view can never be blocked. It's a peaceful sim, with long-term owners nearby. Plenty of space and prims to put up a good sized house with surrounding landscaping to your taste. Price: L$50,000. Find it here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Quetzal/12/104/28
