Ah Dilbert is just mad because during the whole RedZone fiasco he was constantly saying he wasn't using it and never would. Then one day somebody cammed down at the TP point at his place and low and behold there was a redzone unit clicking away. He had the sensors turned off so it could only scan things near it (which is why it was at the TP point) and it couldn't be detected by the GreenZone hud at that time.

Not to mention it has the potential to kill most streaming media in SL.

Good point Dilbert, I was just focusing on the 'controling the avi' part I guess. I haven't had any first hand experience with it either so I'm not sure if it's there either.

Well it certainly sounds like most conversations that I've heard in Second Life. Maybe we are all chatbot stuck in here and just don't realize it. ... are you a robot?

Wow. Well I've just been calling it the SL Thingy all this time. Always heard SLumming in reference to residents that don't have a home and live out of sandboxes and abandoned building on abandoned land that had the rez left on.

Well I would like to add that the Lindens aren't mind readers. They don't know what everybody wants, so setting back complaining isn't really doing anything. Take a step forward with a polite manner and make a suggestions. That's what I did myself on Rodviks online profile feed. I had an idea, sandboxes set for premium users only, and I made my idea known to him. Rodvik replied that the thought it was a good idea. Then a few weeks later here they are. So instead of everybody complaining about what they should have done why don't a few of you get together, hash out some ideas that wouldn't be deal breakers and then suggest them.

At the very least they should have a cafepress shop set up. It would be a zero cost (except paying their guy who is already on staff to load up the pictures and set up the store) form of advertising. Those who buy them would be the best people to bring others into the world, the very residents who make it up. Plus it would gauge the interest out there for what direction to go next for marketing. If shirts are selling then expand there, if mousepads and coffee cups are flying out the door then that's where you go. But, alas, I don't see it happening.

It wouldn't suprise me at all to see something like this going on. Copybotters will do just about anything to get copies of the latest fashions to rip and sell as their own. However I see it more likely that they may try to start up a legit club and run their copybot system hidden there. If they are avi based then they would simply put them behind the walls or under the floors so they wouldn't be seen. An active club of real people would draw in more of the money spending folks (who will have the latest fashions) and keep them there. Because those who do spend their lindens inworld (like myself) expect to be entertained when they go someplace and tip. Bots just aren't that entertaining... except when they are malfunctioning.

Also I believe your login name will be viewable on your profile. This is done to help stop people from pretending to be another resident just by changing their display name to match theirs.

I'll admit my first job in SL was as a stripper in a very adult venue. The money wasn't always good but at times I did very well. Now be warned though, if you go this route you will get some...ahem... 'job offers' of a much seedier nature via IMs from customers.

I was having problems similiar to that with V2/Firestorm. Finally one day I switched the hairbase I had always worn before with a different hairbase (both were bald since the hair I use covers my head) and suddenly no more problems.

I was having a similiar problem although my screen wouldn't go just white. Usually it had a slight color tint to it. Finally figured out that it was my graphics card overheating (using a laptop with a cooling pad). Finally had to rig up a few ways to keep it cooled off. So I assume most graphic card issues may have a similiar result. I've also noticed that it overheated faster when using a V2 viewer, Firestorm to be exact, than it did with any V1 viewer. Not sure if your problem may be related or not.

Soft Linden is my favorite. Because his avi is a big huggable bunny! He's cute!

I would like to add also be wary if you've logged onto the RZ site isellsl.ath.cx that is where the harvesting of passwords comes from I believe. Well according to the video on the herald that's where it's done at.

75 percent of people use them? Source of that information please as I have a really hard time believing it at all. Most of the time I hear about people using paypal more than anything else.

I like Woodrow Darkfold aka Dro the Last. Although lately he's had to scale the number of his sl performances way back since his rl performance schedule got busy. He does all original song with a very interesting slant on hip hop. Quite unique. If you get the chance to hear him at least give him a listen.

Sigh... one of these days I'm going to make myself a nice home. Currently I just have a Linden one as my personal home and share My Mistresses home with her. I have to give you two thumbs up though, your home looks very nice.

I can build things in SL while in RL I can't even drive a nail. Socialize with people, in RL I have quite a bit of social anxiety in SL it's a lot easier to walk up and say hello. I've also accomplished skydiving off of just about anything I can get up on. So I suddenly show up on top of your skybox don't worry I probably just landed on it after jumping off the one above you, I'll be leaping off of yours in short order. If you see me landing with my chute on feel free to ask how many things I hit on the way down. Edited for bad spelling....

I'll just chime in to say that the ranks will probably never really bother me. I can see some of the points against it but I can also see some of the points for it. I guess it will be something that will have to be watched over time and adjusted. Like say if someone who suddenly gets youtube rights starts flooding the threads with them. Personally the amount of videos that popped up over on the old style became a large hassle sometimes and added very little to the thread at large. Anyways I spend more time in world than I do on here. So the amount it will affect me is very little.
