I've always been a proponent of mainland. Its better to rent. One can find many attractive locations with very low fees, and add on to that no Linden premium fees required. Financially it makes sense. If you purchase land on mainland, its priced like RL, the better the location the more it costs. Just rent from a land speculator who already paid that expensive price. Plus; a) nothing is guaranteed to remain "attractive" on mainland, b) things move faster here than RL, one gets bored with decorating/landscaping their parcel fairly fast. When either a or b occurs, if you bought you must try to sell to get your purchase price back, if you rent, la di da bye bye ..on to your next adventure free and clear

Nice area, used to own a large parcel on the Northeast corner of Awa back in 2009. Always hoping the neighbor to my west would take off full bright, glow on their building and lower the giant structure floating in the air.
