  1. lol... Keep that freaking thing away from me or I might deflate ^^ I wanna end this day on a good note!
  2. Very welcome! ^^ hopefully the marketplace will have better performance as the rush to migrate dies down (although I actually suspect the opposite) and they work more on optimizing it. we can hope though
  3. You can update an existing listing, you need to go to the old listing and click the dropdown to Edit, and then ReAssociate the Item to the new one you just uploaded (when you click to reassociate it will pull up all the unassociated items). Unfortunately even with the same named folders, you have to manually associate the items. The automatic association appears to only happen on the initial migration of products You can also check out this link to a doc that Darrius Gothly wrote up a couple days ago: http://www.dgp4sl.com/Updating_a_Direct_Delivery_Product_on_the_SL_Marketplace.pdf
  4. Lee, that was seriously unexpected and very appreciated. Thank you for the mood lift!
  5. Thank you, Pamela. I hope you, too, can soon experience the joy of Direct Delivery conversion... heh
  6. Since the unicode bug has been clearly reproduced, I don't see why it should be an issue for LL to push through payments on all recently fubared transactions where the buyer was charged and received the item but merchant was never paid. This should be a matter of course. And in older cases where the item was clearly received by the buyer and the merchant never got paid, whichever Customer Support Rep made the official decisions to not push through payment to the Merchant needs to be reprimanded and the money needs to be credited, finally. Even in ambiguous cases, if the money was never refunded to the buyer, the merchant should be credited as a gesture of good customer service. Sadly, LL Customer Service in general is sorely lacking. Ever since "Scouts" were brought in, I have lost most of my confidence in LL's general customer service. Personally I think the problem lies with giving these CSRs too much power to make decisions without escalating issues to an experienced Linden. Every time I am in contact with an actual Linden, the result is usually more than satisfactory. The fact is, sometimes you have to do more work than you should to get things right, since you are closer to your own interests than the company is.
  7. This is an interesting point, because when the listing is edited, the past orders show the now corrected listing name, not the old name it was delivered as. But Lindens can surely check to see that the customer was charged, not refunded, and so it should not be a stretch to get these payments pushed through to the merchant. It is disappointing that there is no "Item was delivered to Such Andsuch" in chat for the merchant to save in their chat logs for further evidence that items were delivered, for cases like this. Is there a feature request for this yet?

  9. Ela Talaj wrote: There are separate issues here and sadly appears too many of them. I don't think the page load dial-up speed is caused by the alleged unicode bug. In fact I don't even think it is caused by the direct delivery upgrade. The marketplace was somewhat slow as compared to other websites loading time weeks before March 21. My personal feeling is that the database is not indexed correctly and the traffic increase (mostly by merchants) after the upgrade aggravated the problem but the upgrade itself is not the root of it. Agreed, loading was slow before the Direct Delivery release, so I hope that when the migrations are complete we can enjoy a smoother Marketplace than ever. Please! note - The unicode bug isn't causing slowdowns, it's causing items to be delivered, money taken from buyer, but merchant not getting paid sorry if this was already pointed out below and i'm only repeating.
  10. Hi, try logging out and back into both the Marketplace website and the viewer. This should work. If you didn't get the free bear already, do that also so you will have a 'received items' folder in your inventory
  11. I'll be blunt. You're running around trying to take credit for every issues solved. It's so obvious, it makes me want to barf. If that's your joy in SL so be it, I do understand that it is Darrius' joy. But it is sickening to watch. If you want to peddle it as some kind of customer service propaganda campaign that's fine. It's a wee bit too obvious, though. Sigh. I'm not going to take this personally. It is an unnecessary, nasty jab from an angry, unhappy person. Anyone who has been reading the commerce forums regularly for the last few days can make their own decisions about my motivations, just as you have just done.
  12. Well.... I'm more on the side of letting LL know what the problems are, for my customers' interests and my own, getting over the fact that it's always an imperfect process, and making sure they know what's wrong so they can FIX it as quickly as possible. I am operating from a progressive, unemotional viewpoint, so maybe that is where we differ. I don't care where the blame lies, I'm way more interested in moving forward, finding the problems, and getting them fixed.
  13. Darrius, what the H is wrong with your browser.... LOL

  15. Magnet Homewood wrote: I am going to leave the definition of what happened to me to the people interested in being lawyers, and just explain it. This happened to me the day before DD rolled out, the 20th March. I got 3 notifications by email that my magic box had delivered items worth in total $4500L, but on my merchant's page, those items were marked as being "Delivery Failed". I contacted the three buyers and confirmed that they had paid, and that they had recieved the item, so I sent a ticket about it to LL. I was told that they could not credit me for those sales because the status was 'Failed' and that I should switch to Direct Delivery as soon as possible. This may not be the kind of situation Josh means when he says robbed, but I am still sore because that money would have gone along way towards tier this month. So, buyers received the item, LL got paid the money, but you didn't get any payment for the product you sold, and this is an official decision? Very, very wrong. I hope you are still trying to get the money credited to you, because this is just plain bad customer service on top of bad functionality. Not Good At All.
  16. Hopefully they will get this character set problem fixed ASAP so that others who don't realize this is a problem will not have to manually change all their listings - if they do it fast enough then maybe you won't have to change all yours. It is most definitely the problem, I tested several items with various Unicode characters last night and they are all still waiting to be paid to merchant, stuck in "Being Delivered," yet have been delivered and buyer has paid. When the item delivers, I have noticed that the viewer removes the characters so it is essentially a differently named product. Instead of paying some attention to your special case that you filed a JIRA for, unfortunately the Lindens lumped it in with other issues of non payment, when it was not at all the same. And yes, thanks to Gavin for noticing what the real issue was in this case!
  17. Nod, it appears to 'clean' them for delivery, the character is gone from the Folder Name in my Received Items folder. Just doesn't clean it good enough for payment, I guess >.<
  18. I noticed on the JIRA one of Super String's products has a "►" in it...
  19. I was able to duplicate this with one of the characters you supplied. Item was delivered, money was taken, but no payment to Merchant. Now it's hanging in limbo. (yeah yeah, I should have used a $1 item. it's late and I was curious)
  20. I was able to get the gifting to work finally, but it's sporadic. I'm guessing it's yet another problem to blame on server traffic/heavy load. yay.
  21. I have a very fast connection and a powerful computer. The marketplace is slow as honey for me. I don't think this is an issue for just "some" users - it is across the board. Again, looking forward to improved performance... someday. ^^ eta - not really a reply TO Marcus, just to the thread in general
  22. shrug, I filed a ticket as well, and since I have not seen any Lindens mentioning the fact that this isn't working, I have filed a JIRA as well.
