  1. As I understand it, you can delete those items from inventory after uploading them through Merchant Outbox. Personally, I am keeping everything intact for a little while, just in case... ^^
  2. i think to use DD as a merchant you must have LL v3 or the latest Firestorm. LL V3 will have the Merchant Outbox under "Me," Firestorm will have it under "Avatar." Received Items folder will work for any viewer, but not Merchant Outbox
  3. I agree, this just may not be a good idea - they are taking in surveys now, if you look in the sticky thread about Direct Delivery launch. I am noting our concerns and linking to this thread and the JIRA I made.
  4. Lasher Oh mentioned in another thread that some people may need to fully log out and back into the marketplace website to get all items to clear. Thought i'd add that here too.
  5. Arwen, I agree with a lot of what you have said, but somehow LL thought this was awesome... so perhaps file a JIRA requesting that this "feature" be taken away. I would support it. I have been very comfortable using alts to test permissions and have done this for years... I see this as the only true way to check permissions. But as the feature is implemented currently, it certainly does not work as they say it does, but that is a different issue from you are getting at.
  6. check out starting at 3:56 TIP: "Test Delivery" permissions "Exactly how a customer would receive it"... not quite ^^
  7. Heya, no, they didn't mess up the perms, but in the Torley video, it touts that you can check next-owner permissions using Test Delivery (a new feature), but it doesn't actually work that way., it will ONLY work for items that are in a folder and are not objects containing objects/scripts/animations/etc inside the contents.
  8. Faye Feldragonne wrote: I don't care so much about "change," I care about the terrible communications from the lab. Everything is mysterious and causes lots of distress. Very well stated.
  9. Please watch/vote this JIRA, as the "Next Owner Permissions" for items for test delivery doesn't really work as advertised. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4554
  10. is it saying it is "empty" or saying "you need to create a store"?
  11. WolfBaginski Bearsfoot wrote: 2: Transactions are being reported as completed which have not been. I don't know yet if this is happening with Direct Delivery as well as Magic Box Yikes! That's not good... are customers contacting you saying the stuff is not delivered? >.<
  12. Zinia Quan wrote: OK, found it, just no 'me'. Heh.. it would really help if Firestorm would make their menus similar to the V3 version, since we know LL won't change theirs. If you get a "you need to create a store" in your outbox and can't upload things, try logging out and back into the marketplace website, then relogging SL.
  13. I hope this will help some of you having problems with deleting unassociated items: I had 11 magic boxes, so I converted them to DD one at a time (I am just putting the boxes in there for now). Because you cannot have more than 100 items in your Unassociated Items at any one time (one of the Torley videos points this out) (edited: apparently you can have any number of magic box unassociated items, but i still recommend doing this step by step), you really need to do it step by step, I did 1 magic box at a time following these steps: My experience: After uploading to the Merchant Outbox, I then had all those items in my unassociated items area (these are the old Magic Box items, the Direct Delivery items are reassociated automatically if you kept the same exact name of object/folder). I deleted the Magic Box from inworld and re-synced marketplace to Magic Boxes, but it seemed to take a long time and so.... - Click "Magic Box Status" under Inventory (on the website), which takes you to the old Xstreet site. - Cancel the popup that comes up, and scroll down until you see where your Magic Boxes are listed (ignore all the unassociated item listings, look to the middle to bottom left of the page for the Magic Box listings), - You will see an option to Force remove the boxes. You need to have already deleted your magic box inworld, then manually delete it on this page. - After you've deleted the magic box, go back to the Marketplace website and do the Resync again and refresh the page.. all the items should be gone. -- So you do not do ANY deleting from within the Marketplace website. - Once it syncs, it should see that you have force removed the box and just remove the unassociated items totally. In my experience, it seemed like it was taking WAY too long for the Marketplace to recognize the boxes were gone. So the force remove worked for me. I would not have thought to do it this way if not for reading of yesterday's frustration with unsuccessfully deleting unassociated items, so thanks to those who expressed their issues and frustrations (thanks, Marcus Hancroft and others). Seems that force deleting the Magic Boxes from the old Xstreet page after deleting them from inworld is the best way to go.
  14. Keli Kyrie wrote On another note... I bought something that is Full-Perm Mesh on the Marketplace and I am using it in my creation but the Marketplace interface won't let me mark it as mesh. I have never uploaded a mesh model maybe that has something to do with it? I am guessing you need to take the questionaire/tutorial thingie first, which is what everyone had to do when they wanted to upload mesh... go here and look for the "Mesh IP Tutorial" Link: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Uploading-a-mesh-model/ta-p/974185
  15. Completely agree that the Product Page is very user unfriendly and has been since the outset of Marketplace. Also, when you do the migrations to DD, it lists all the dates as whatever date you migrated them. So all my objects now say 3-22-2012. Not useful in any way at this present time.. Let's hope they will work on the Product Page more now that DD is implemented in the first stage. Although I have to say personally I prefer the Unassociated Items being at the top because that is where my new uploads will appear. I have a few JIRA requests to improve the Product Page.. if I remember I will post them here.
  16. WolfBaginski Bearsfoot wrote: Unfortunately, the sample messages showing the extra information in order history, do not yet match what is shown. Neither do the emails I have received concerning transactions. I know Direct Delivery is working, because that Sample Bear arrived in my Received folder, It looks as though the supporting infrastructure is not yet working. Yeah, I have noticed this too It would help if the information they are leading us to were actually accurate... heh
  17. KellyM Watkins wrote: Thank you Sera, I will give that a go. Its weird though. On my listings some say 'Direct' and some say 'Magic Box' but according to my Merchant Outbox inworld, there is nothing in there. :smileyfrustrated: That is because the outbox empties itself each time you upload stuff. I don't know where the items are being stored, but instead of storing it in our inventories or magic boxes, there is now some.. 'other place' where things are kept. Take a look at the Torley videos, they might help, they certainly helped me!
  18. KellyM Watkins wrote: What a royal PITA this is! Thought oh hey this looks easy, just take the boxes out my magicboxes, plonk them in the Merchants Outbox which was showed in the quick migration instructions, so I do that, do a test buy and I read on my listing "Use It Now This item will be delivered directly to you or a friend in Second Life, unpacked and ready to use. No land or sandbox required." What??? So I DO have to unpack all boxes and put them in tas folders :matte-motes-angry: Not only that, I now have Unassociated inventory items, that won't blooming delete and even with removing boxes from the magic boxes and syncing them ot the marketplace, they're still there. Some items have now got confused and are saying unavailiable and still say they are in the magic box and not direct delivery. Think to save loss of custom from items all over the place, I will continue to use my trusty magic box until such time that I will be forced to use this rickety Outbox thing. What I have done for now is to bulk edit my items to change the "Usage Requirements" to "Unpacking" - it's a new choice in the Edit Items field - Usage Requirements: None Unpacking Land Wearable Also, I had to manually delete my Magic Boxes from the old Xstreet website (you can get there by going to MagicBox status in the Marketplace website. Then all the unassociated items disappeared. Not sure what to say about those 'unavailable' items though.. Good luck, I agree the directions/implementation could be way better and the "Use it Now" is misleading, I dunno why they decided to make that the default when switching items from Magic Box to DD. Some of the migration information is incorrect/still based on the Beta grid, so it makes it pretty confusing.
  19. Marcus Hancroft wrote This is exactly what I did, Miss Sera. Uploaded everything so I could deal with them all as I have the time and hours. If I had been more on the ball, I would have unpacked everything, changed my landmarks and notecards and made sure everything was up to date, and then put everything in a folder called; "#To Upload For Direct Delivery" That way...everything would be changed and ready. But I didn't. So now I'll go through them one by one and make the necessary changes. As *I* have time. Not by Linden Lab's time. Yep, I have decided to go this route, otherwise it would take me days to make all the changes I want to. I am on box 4 of about 8. ^^ I am finding that manually deleting my Magic Boxes from the Xstreet page is working faster than waiting for the Marketplace to figure out I have deleted them from inworld. Since I want to change many of the box/folder names too, I figured I might as well go ahead and migrate to DD.
  20. Good mornin, Miss Dora. I went to hell and back yesterday with this also. Bulk deleting CERTAINLY didn't work. In the end, the solution is to remove the item(s) from the magic box(es) and resync with Marketplace. Once the system sees that they are no longer in the magic box, it deletes them automatically. Thank you for going to hell and back, it's going to save me (and lots of others) a lot of time...
  21. Inara Pey wrote: Ah well. I suppose it encourages version-numbering releases.... But then it does make you wonder why there is a "version number" field in the listing, eh? hehe ^^
  22. I've updated and reassociated an item today and can confirm it will indeed take much time. Sadly I have several boxes/folders with the name including "for Xstreet" which I'd like to change, which means manually reassociating. Since one has to manually look up each item in the Product Page each time, and it takes clicking through several pages, and waiting for those pages to update, this will be cumulatively many hours for those with large marketplace inventories. This makes the initial deadlines way too stringent, if one wants to "do it right the first time." I am now considering just dragging all my boxes into the Merchant Outbox and dealing with everything later, since it appears it will take a loooong time to make associations when I make any changes, even when the item or folder name is the same. Well as Torley says in his video... short term pain, long term gain? I am enjoying the right-click "send to merchant outbox" feature in V3. I just wish the Marketplace website's Product Page were more user friendly.
  23. Blah, yeah this sounds like a lot of extra work that should be done automatically, if the folder name is the same
  24. Super String wrote: it works!!! :matte-motes-agape: Thank you Lok!!!:matte-motes-big-grin: woo hoo! yay!
  25. So after waiting all freaking day for a working Merchant Outbox, restarting SL viewer many times... finally I thought to log out from the Marketplace WEBSITE and then back in. Then relog into SL. It worked. If your outbox is still not recognizing your store and you definitely have a store, try this. Cheers!
