  1. I am running on a machine that had no trouble with SL for a long time. I haven't opened it up to clean it or given it a cooling stand, however I did open it up to replace the memory with a 8 gig set that wasn't manufacturer approved for this model but which seems to have worked fine so far. Might that have something to do with it? I don't think the trouble started at the same time, but it may have, I wasn't logging on much at the time. Thanks for your help!
  2. It's not viewer 2, I misspoke, its just the latest SL viewer whatever it is. Same icon as viewer two. All of those technical specifications have worked fine for two+ years, and my network runs at 20+ megs down, 4 to 6 up, so thanks for your sniping but not exactly helpful.
  3. I am having the same problems, have run it out of the linux download I've unpacked and nothing happens. Any idea why?
  4. Hello, I have been a happy member of the SL community for a long time, and am an IT professional and am having a very strange problem for the last two months or so. Whenever I log into Second Life from my home computer (Mac Book Pro 2009) I find I have incredibly slow connection limiting me to between 2.5 FPS and 5 FPS no matter where I go. If I attempt to log in using Firestorm, which is my preferred viewer, the viewer takes forever to load and then before ever successfully logging in darkens out and tells me I've been logged out. When logged in with Viewer 2 I find my entire computer to be slow to the point of barely being useable and the stats on the SL stat viewer are terrible. From what I remember those stats are something around 2.5 to 5 Frames Per Second, the bandwidth is remarkably low, think double digits 59 or 79 (yes, I've upped bandwidth to over 3000), and the ping time is usually between 250 to 590 or 600. Given these stats I am led to believe it is one of two things: 1. My network is being throttled, specifically on SL traffic. I haven't been able to get SL running on any other machines in the house to test it. 2. My video card is struggling for some reason. I've been using this computer to access SL for years now with no problem. It is bizarre to me that I am running into this now for seemingly no reason. Any suggestions?
  5. I am actually having the same issue. I am a long time SL user of over 4 years and I am having a lot of trouble loading my inventory. I have over 10,000 objects but have never had this issue before. I log in and my inventory shows as loading for as long as I stay on to watch it. I feel like this is a bug, or perhaps a problem with SL servers, as I've never seen anything like this before. Something is going on here. Anything in a subfolder in my inventory is not accessible, regardless of the land. Please advise?
