  1. I search the community for help before calling LL, there was no need to be rude. It is happening to people.
  2. I just got that error message about having a 30. limit and I am not a new avie. I did just sign up for premium earlier this month. What is going on?? I've always bought around 80 USD each time I buy lindens and now i cant? will downgrading back to free fix it? Talk about sl being totally screwed up these days.
  3. mrsss, I agree they do need to be protected from someone luring them to skype, etc. The problem with expecting LL, facebook, etc to do that is that it just doesn't work. There will always be a way around the technological 'barricades' if a teen is determined enough. That's where the parent comes in. There is only so much LL can do, and that was my point. Just look at all the news stories involving craigs list. I usually don't bother, but I've got a slow morning so I'll address the idiocy. This isn't about guns. This is about teenagers, who are 2 yrs from being legal adults, seeing naughty bits. That is what I posted in reference to. Someone wigging out that a teenager will cam to a mature sim. Newsflash.. teens have naughty bits on their own bodies. And they likely function better than most of the populace of SL anyway As for being lured away or into adult situations, no website can prevent that. Only an involved parent can. That may strike a nerve with parents who are on SL, but that's the simple truth. There are too many news stories involving children getting around technology, even net-nanny, etc. As a parent myself, I just cant imagine an attitude of wanting to sit back and hope technology can keep my kid safe. And, she's in college now.
  4. No, Ciaran, there are people complaining too that a 16-17 year old might cam to a neighboring sim and see their naked avatar. That's the sort of thing I was referring to in my post that I found to be ridiculous, and gave my reasons why.
  5. This is too funny. The people who want to prevent the teens from going around LL rules by camming on to another sim are ridiculous. Newsflash, LL is abiding by the law by doing this. If a teen chooses to find a way around it, there is not a lot anyone can do except a person called Mom. I dont get why the supposed solution to problems like this these days are more restrictions, limitations on adults when it is the responsibility of the teen's mother or guardian to be the one to control what the kid sees. They provide the computer and internet access after all. Secondly, you've got to be pretty ridiculous if you think a kid who really wants to see sex, is going to log onto secondlife to do it. The porno websites cover their "assets" by having a button you click to say yes, I'm 18+. If a teenager wants to see sex, they're going there to watch humans, not avatars. Even so, worst case scenario: Mom is too busy on her own secondlife to notice little johnny is on there too, and camming to mature sims. He sees OMGGGGGGGGGGG naked avatars!!! What is the difference between taht and stripping down barbie and ken dolls? Not a hell of a lot. The ones who are obsessing about this worry me. "We see the world as we are, not as it is". What are your kids doing while you're on SL? Besides the fact that this is teenagers who are one to two years from being "legal" in America. Get a grip. Anyone who wants to break the law badly enough can.Putting people like that in charge would wind up with complete prohibition on all alcohol because johnny breaks into his parents liquor cabinet, no more condoms allowed to be manufactured because johnny stole one out of his dad's wallet. get a grip. this is a great solution. if a teen wants so desperately to see a naked friggin avatar taht he's willing to break a rule to do it, well he deserves to see it. That isnt going to turn him into a sex fiend. Geez
