If you are limited to low graphic settings you can adjust your scene gamma, it eliminates the need for facelight. V3: World menu-->Environment editor-->Sky presets-->new preset-->lighting-->turn your scane gamma to 2.5 or higher and you wont have those ugly face shadows anymore.

I don't care how others see me. I dress for my own eyes. I wont skip mesh goodies just to look good to a few luddites out there. Really, i am ok untill someone starts bitching about mesh. Each to their own.There are people who still use pre alpha viewers, so if you happen to wear shoes with an alpha layer your pixel perfect feet will appear borked to them.It's pretty imposible to adjust your looks to a level where everyone sees you perfectly fine.

Hi. Ahern/Morris, Waterhead, Violet,Orientation island public, Help island public are some of the worst welcome areas you can possibly go to.I used to pop in there once a while, but it took me less than 10 minutes before i got annoyed and left. Now i avoid these places like a plague. Seeing how oldbies poke fun at newbies literally make my blood boil.People tend to forget that newbies are SL's future. Todays newbie could be tomorrows land baron, business man, your favorite fashion creator and so on. NCI is the only help/welcome area i go to. Yes, it still gets hit by griefers, but usually theres 1-2 land officers around. I joined SL back in 2007. My first home was Bear infohub. People there seemed quite welcoming. I dont remember a single case where i got bullied as a new user. Instead i met some fabulous people who helped me all the way. Guess i was lucky.Nowadays you would get your butt kicked at the very least.:matte-motes-frown:

Hi Pertilia. Welcome to SL. You could try NCI, the Shelter,White tiger mentor island. Althought these places are friendly and being monitored by land officers occasionally you would still meet someone rude. But don't let that scare you off.
