But they're not necessary though. They're just a feature. And honestly, do you really think others are interested in what you're reading? 😂 If anyone is tracking what forum you're in, they'd have to be in there too, or on your profile, and they must have a very futile life.

Who said it was needed? Of course it's not a necessity. It's no more necessary than the need of a profile picture on these forums or space for a profound quote under it. But it can help fulfil the curiosity of those who may be interested in comparing if a thread is popular more by those reading or engaging, I suppose. Either way, I neither care, nor will pay much attention to it. But time marches on and things change. If you're going to choose to let it bother you so, then that's on you lol

You're over-thinking this. If you truly don't want people to know where you are on the forum, then you might as well stop posting in threads. That literally tells us more information about you in your post than a bar at the top which just tells us you're present.

No. You pretty much have that feature on many other online forums. It's not as if it's offering your rl personal information or any identifying features to any one.

Some of the cafe's in SL are social and have voice opened. I'd bounce around them to see which ones are your favourite. Keep in mind though, different cafe's are ore active at certain times of the day, so I'd make regular visits. I'd suggest the Rainy four seasons cafe to start, as it has voice activated there.

The cafe scene seems to be the new upcoming thing in sl. They can be very sociable places when there're a few people chilling there. My 2 personal favourites are the Out of the Rain Cafe and the Rainy Four Seasons. Some sound people and some uh... interesting oddities attend them too lol

My two biggest gripes would be the instant IM's as soon as you log on (I don't get that now anyways lol) and people tapped in the head being OTT weird/creepy. The random TP requests doesn't phase me much. I just ignore and move on.

These days I like to socialise, chat, etc. Any RPing days for me are gone due to time commitments irl with work and social activities here. I'm keen exploring new places now, just not sure where to start there. All my old favourite places have gone lol
