Take a look at http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/PhotoshopTuts/PhotoTutPages/CS4-3D-1_Open.html , wherein all secrets are revealed. Robin even shows exactly how to align a tattoo across the waistline. What could be nicer? :smileyhappy: OMG i just finished looking at the video tutorial and i can't wait to try it lol...it looks sooooo damn simple, thankyou so much Rolig and of course Robin Woods for the tutorial your both Ace *hugs you both* Debbi x Just to add...its not so easy to wrap a vine around the leg going down...lol...that still seems to have to be done the old way...but i have just made my first dual layer tattoo and it worked perfectly :smileyvery-happy:
  2. /me smiles " thanks again, i will make sure to watch the videos on Robins site tomorrow when i get a spare minute lol...i hate doing it the old 2d way my eyes go all wiggly lol Debbi x

He has seam matching guides on his head, upper, and lower templates. In the case of the neck, the head's neck seam is N1, N2, N3, N4, and N5. It's going to be a struggle in some areas because of the elongation of the UV map in the neck. It will also be a struggle because if you cross the head to body seam, the resolution changes radically. You have more pixels on the head template at the neckline than you do on the body template. thanks Govindira, yeah i have Chip Midnight's and Robin Woods templates, I'm still after a long time of designing tattoo's trying to figure out who's templates i prefer guess you could say spoilt for choice lol I'll have a look and see how i can get on with Chip Midnight's templates for the neck area then. thankyou once again Debbi x
  5. Hi all you luverly peoples, A curious question here...i have been looking over the templates for the shapes/skin/clothing etc but im stuck..where would you work on something say a tattoo or a birth mark on the neck...i cannot seem to work out where the neck would start or end on the head and body templates :( Any advice would be awesome Thanks Debbi x
  6. is there any other quick quirks to matching the seams...surely there must be something simple..lol..ive not had chance to try Robins 3D painting straight onto the body yet...just curious if there is any other options...not tried Multi chan hax as it didn't seem to clear if it would do what i actually wanted to do as its a tattoo so not sure how well that would work for me... thanks Debbi x
  7. Awesome thankyou sooo much Rolig i look forward to checking that out tomorow :-D your awesome Rolig and so is Robin Woods. :-D thanks so much *hugs* Debbi x
  8. Rolig Loon wrote: Or use Photoshop CS4 or CS5, both of which allow you to work on your design in 3D, so that you can paint directly on the avatar body. That will let you see exactly where the seams fall and make it easy to align and adjust patterns across them. If you don't have that capability, you'll have to do a lot of uploading temporary textures to SL (they are free if you use Phoenix or Imprudence, or if you upload to the Aditi grid), trying them on, photographing seams, and then adjusting. It can be slow work, but doable. I have to ask, its been bugging me for a long time now....how do you load the avatar body/shape into photoshop, im guessing there is some really simple easy way but im lost if i can find it lol, also was there not a template floating around once that lined up the different body lines...i want to make a tattoo that covers the lower jacket layer and the upper around the back...but can't line it up any help would be greatly appreciated thankyou Debbi x
  9. I tweet...but i prefer facebook so very rarely use tweeter...i mean twitter these days...i think have FB and twitter set to exchange posts anyway...so what i post in twitter posts in facebook and vice versa
  10. Well Miss Anneli i myself have a severe disability affecting my bones so i would consider myself as one of those counted in the 20% although my condition is rare affecting around 50,000 in the uk alone but those numbers are unconfirmed, i use sl as a getaway from the constant pain im in and able to do things in SL i cannot do in RL such as being a sub in SL which i cannot do in RL due to mobility constraints SL is more than just a game to me it is a world without physical pain, myself and my Mistress were going to look into the non profit organisation side of sl to set up a virtual area for promoting the charity we are both members of for my condition in the uk, alas with the land pricing changes this has now had to put on the back burner as we would be funding this personally with the charities consent...i fear this will cause alot of non profit and educational providers to leave SL and leave those that depend on their help and assitance in the dark, SL is basically flaunting the disability laws that are in place in RL by goverments by forcing certain organisations to fall in line with every other business i am sure this would not happen in RL cause the general public would be up in arms about it. Just my two pence worth on the subject of disabled peeps in sl I think i've waffled on far to much now *smiles* so im going to poof now Debbi
  11. I have very little to say except that its the worst idea i have ever heard, the whole idea of discounting for education and charitie/non profit organisations is for the benefit of the users not the companies that are getting the discount, i fear this is going to harm the end user and not LL in the long run and it will ultimately as mentioned earlier see alot of these sort of companies leaving very quick as they cannot afford the full rates that LL expect them to pay...poor business move on LL behalf thats for sure I never thought i would say it but it feels like SL is going down the pan quicker than a ....well i won't use the term here use your imagination Debbi
