  1. Will Tilia be able in the future to work with the banks directly, or cash out to credit/debit cards, instead of Paypal? Because as was mentioned on another thread, being in the EU and using the Paypal is really a pain. I am keeping my fingers crossed this Tilia change might actually turn out great for us non-US citizens if LL decides later to give us more cashout alternatives.
  2. THIS!! Linden Lab, please use this Tilia opportunity for giving us non-US citizens alternative options of cashing out!!! I will welcome this Tilia change wholeheartedly IF this will mean avoiding dealing with PayPal altogether!! (I even have a suggestion on the implementation...) I am keeping my fingers crossed this Tilia change might actually turn out great for us non-US citizens if LL decides later to give us more cashout alternatives.
  3. I strongly suspect that this has not even been decided as of yet.
  4. Thanks a lot Whirly, this sheds some light on what is actually happening! Still, the questions remain: So everybody I ever blocked in the past is now unable to buy my products on Marketplace? Can a blocked person still gift my items to others?
  5. I only have one alt and she has editing rights and whatnot. I don't want to take any chances by breaking something. With SL you can never be sure something would not go glitchy, especially if this feature is still in some alpha/beta testing phase. It is important to me that the functionality between my alt and my main remains as it is. Maybe somebody who has many alts and who has no problem blocking one of them can help me out with answers. Or even better: maybe one of the Lindens can officially shed some light on this, as they should have done when they implemented this feature. I know there are people who have been waiting for this feature for many years, and who have no idea it has become available because they didn't happen to read this forum thread, as i did accidentally.
  6. I have been asking for this feature for many years. Apparently it has finally been implemented, but looks like there wasn't any official announcement, was there? How does this feature work exactly? Is there any documentation somewhere? So everybody I ever blocked in the past is now unable to buy my products on Marketplace? What happens exactly? Are my items automatically being filtered out of the blocked person's search results? What happens when the blocked person views my storefront? What happens when the blocked person views a particular listing of mine? Is the Buy button greyed out or something? Or is there some kind of pop-up or message telling them they can't buy? Can a blocked person still gift my items to others?
  7. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-10083 looks like it's been there since 2015...
  8. is this already in effect, or is it yet on their "to do list"?
  9. it doesn't matter what their RL expenses are like compared to western countries, it only matters what it is worth in SL, and in SL everybody uses L$. But to get the same amount of L$ (say 10 US$ worth of it) for you will mean a dinner at McDonalds worth, while for somebody from say Brazil (or something) it will be like a weeks salary worth. While you might easily part with a McDonalds dinner to fund your Second Life instead, somebody from Brazil will think twice before parting with their weeks worth salary. I mean if they already do that they might still keep doing that, but for that very same amount they will be able to buy less now, if/when SL merchants raise their prices to offset the cashout fee. While you, or anybody else from a western country, will not mind to get 15$ worth of lindens where you used to get only 10$ worth before, to keep maintaining the same spending habits you used to, most people from non-western countries will most likely not be able to afford that.
  10. mine are not "painted out". They show a full naked body. Back in the day i listed them as M but they were flagged and set to A. I left it at that, and any new skins i had released after i always listed as A myself, as i thought that was appropriate. But according to this wiki, skins should be ok for M so i just went and set all my old skins to M. Not that it matters much, as nobody buys standard ava skins anymore anyway 😏
  11. back in the day when i was selling skins they were flagged as Adult. apparently they don't have to be anymore? I wish i knew this when standard ava skins were still relevant... or maybe this has changed since then, i listed them 8 or more years ago...
  12. I have seen many people stating that they will not be able to afford the price increase merchants all over the place are planning to apply to offset the 5% cashout fee. People from well-to-do western countries don't understand, don't relate and don't care that for people from countries with other local currency than USD/EUR/GBP pennies here and there mean a lot. Surely US based SL residents form the major population of SL, but there are a lot of people from less well-to-do countries who will now either spend much less or stop spending altogether. This means, again - even less sales for the merchants, which is less cashout for LL to take their precious 5% off of.
  13. and if you think that piling up circumstances that make people leave SL on top of each other for years and years will have no noticeable negative impact on SL, and that on top of the fact that SL is long passed its heyday, looks outdated compared to other modern games, has a steep learning curve for newbies, and now has lost its most important incentive to want to be a new creator here, then you are being ignorant and hiding your head in the sand. We will see.
  14. that's why we have store groups and subscribos, facebook pages and flickr groups: you send a notification out to your store group that there has been an update for a certain item and that the customers who have previously bought it can get a redelivery from their Order History on MP. What you want is a very useful feature that i personally would very much like to have, too, but it's waaaaaaaay too advanced for the likes of LL's Marketplace. Even if it has officially been requested in a JIRA, I wouldn't hold my breath they implement it any time soon, if at all.
  15. thank you for the petition link! I signed. Maybe you should post it in a separate thread and on General forum too. It is heartwarming to see that nearly 3000 people have signed it already. Merchants who read this forum only might feel very disheartened by the response of the LL Cheerleading Team, now they will see that they are not alone.
  16. the rush has started soon after they announced these news. I've been selling at 250L for many months, my last filled order was at 250L on May 23, i had to cancel my other orders and move them to 251L 2 days ago. I see now that they will probably not clear in time before the doomsday so i will have to move them to 252, too. I suspect it will get even worse. Now on top of the fee increase we will also get the exchange rate increase. Thanks
  17. if JIRA also works for such things as requesting new cashout options, then i will sure try!
  18. TransferWise Borderless Account provides you with US bank account details. It is shown as Community Federal Savings bank. If LL chose this bank as an option to cashout to, people all over the world could sign up for a TransferWise Borderless account and have that one linked to their SL account, and could transfer their US$ without having to pay draconian fees to Paypal/Skrill.
  19. Are you saying that PayPal and Skrill are the only options possible out there?? It's hard to believe there isn't anything better, and more modern. How about an option to transfer to a US bank account directly?
  20. oh but it is. You all forget (or maybe you were not there yet), that in truth one of the very first steps in the line of events that caused the decrease in the net amounts of money that can be taken out of SL, was LL eliminating all third party exchanges. Prior to that, people elsewhere in the world could cash out their L$ in their own currency, and have them go straight to their bank accounts. It was LL who made us all switch to PP. Absolutely unnecessary and highly costly. If it wasn't for LL i would have never ever dealt with PayPal. So, the least LL could do for us people who cash out from SL in return for this 100% increase in the cashout fees is to offer us a good option to cashout to, like bank transfer, or card withdrawal. Not to mention all those poor souls from the countries where PP or Skril is not available at all. They cannot even start a business in SL at all, and i am sure those countries have enough talented people SL could use, too.
  21. and why not? because you are annoyed by it? Then don't participate in these threads, i am sure you can waste your valuable time doing much more exciting things than listening to the whinings of upset creators/artists. If enough of us shout shrill enough about it, maybe - just maybe! - somebody at LL will wake up and listen and do something about it. You just wintessed yourself that it worked for the groups!! Why are you still trying to shut us up?
  22. OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!!!! unbelievable!!!! So..... This one goes to all who called us whiners and wanted to shut us up...
  23. exactly!! I have always considered myself extremely lucky to have gotten this chance thanks to LL! And i have always known the luck will end sooner than later, and i am genuinely surprised that my SL shop has lasted for almost 12 years. It is certainly not what i could have even dreamed of starting out back in 2007!! I have always been saying this and i will be eternally thankful to LL for this unbelievable opportunity. But everything comes to an end, and starting from now sadly i can say that the end is in sight. Not the end of SL as a whole but the end of times that you could live off your income from SL. I, as many others, were able to do that for 12 years now. It's starting to look like not possible any longer. And what you are saying here is again proving my point: Since it is not possible to make a living out of SL any longer it is no longer attractive for talented 3D artist to waste their time on SL. They are now better off elsewhere. Which will mean that the quality of new content in SL will go down. The old rumour has been out there in the internets about how you can make loads in SL, and that's why new 3D artist came to see if they can make it work. It will very soon be replaced with the new rumour of massive SL fees, and they will no longer be interested. This also applies to the 3D artists from third world countries, because even there people still want to make more money, and they can make more elsewhere with their talent.
