  1. I have a blog that's focused on Live Music Events. i would like to be able to have a link for people to be able to check events from it. Can that be done? Many thanks!
  2. Thank you! I uninstalled Chrome (as per Whirly's suggestion), turned off the VBO and I'm always in low graphic settings. I am so used to SL in low graphics on my PC that I dont know what it looks like in High or Ultra (I will put Ultra on to take pics, but i dont expect to move anywhere). I did try to solve this on my own a year ago and gave up in frustration. That's why I took it into a tech guy and spent the money to make sure it wasn't a hardware issue and had it rebuilt. The artefact rendering would happen on start up, so I wouldn't think heat was a factor. Thanks for your kindness. lei
  3. If you read my reply to the other poster, myself and my tech guy tried an older driver ..just to see if that would fix the issue. I had the newest driver installed when i took it into the shop to be rebuilt. It still didn't work. I have reinstalled the newest driver and the newest SL viewer...it still had artefact rendering issues. Here's the info from the SL Viewer / Help / About SL: Second Life 3.7.10 (291134) Jun 17 2014 19:46:37 (Second Life Release) Release Notes CPU: Intel® Core i7 CPU Q 740 @ 1.73GHz (1729.12 MHz) Memory: 8117 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 460M/PCI/SSE2 Windows Graphics Driver Version: 8.17.0012.5912 OpenGL Version: 4.0.0 libcurl Version: libcurl/7.24.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8q zlib/1.2.5 J2C Decoder Version: KDU v7.0 Audio Driver Version: FMOD Ex 4.44.31 Qt Webkit Version: 4.7.1 (version number hard-coded) Voice Server Version: Not Connected Built with MSVC version 1600
  4. yes you do sound rather smug. I had the most recent driver installed when I had the Asus rebuilt to the tune of $75 and then I paid another $60 for the tech guys time trying to fix this issue i've tried unsuccessfully to fix for almost 2 years. He did have the most recent driver installed, and we tried going back to a driver that did work prior to 2012. So unless you don't know the whole story, maybe don't ASSume you know everything. I've tried everything EXCEPT posting to the forums and the JIRA for just that reason. Why not help vs being critical. If you read AND understood my post you would have realized i've been with this issue for a long time. AND if yoiu bothered looking at the names of the OLD post, you would realize that I wasn't the OP. I have an ASUS and heat is NOT an issue...never has been. kick ass cooling system. have a great day.
  5. I'm pretty lucky. I have two issues, Open GL errors, AND artefacts not rendering (see pic below). I've had both for awhile...since 2012. I have an Asus G73JW series and it worked like a charm for the first year and a half...2011 and part of 2012. Luckily I have a pc, so I've just been using it for SL, but now i've moved to a smaller place for the summer, and would like to be able to use my laptop. So I"m trying yet again to fix these issues! I just spent $135 bucks getting my system restored along with the Tech guy trying to fix the issue. He played with the settings, increased the TDR, installed old card drivers from 2011 (prior to when I started getting these issues) I can't say how much of my own time I have spent trying to fix them. I've done a clean install of graphic drivers, played with the settings, hired someone, increased TDR, tried 3 different viewers, researched, installed ASUS Gamer OSD and uninstalled it, system restored the laptop, prayed, cursed and almost threw the laptop against the wall! (that's still an option) If anyone has any ideas on how to fix these issues, let me know. I have an Asus G73JW Grid: Second Life Built with MSVC version 1600 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 740 @ 1.73GHz (1729.05 MHz) Memory: 8117 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 460M/PCI/SSE2 Windows Graphics Driver Version: 8.17.0012.5912 OpenGL Version: 4.0.0 Viewer SSE Version: SSE2 libcurl Version: libcurl/7.21.1 OpenSSL/1.0.0g zlib/1.2.5 c-ares/1.7.1 J2C Decoder Version: OpenJPEG: 1.5.2 Audio Driver Version: (none) Qt Webkit Version: 4.7.1 (version number hard-coded) I finally submitted a bug issue, but i"m not holding my breath. This is what I see when I"m logged in...it doesn't matter the viewer or the graphic setting. I can change the graphic setting and this will disappear for a bit, then start again. Or zoom out and it will fix it. And it's not a hardware issue. It only happens in SL and all the pop up windows in SL look fine. My desktop looks fine, it's just contained within SL.

  7. In the last few days, my avatar is getting what looks like a black square "encoder" looking stamp randomly over the shape. The first time it happened it was when I had put a new skin on it. I'm not sure if that has any bearing at all. I did a "Character Test" today, and went back to noob...rebuilt the avi, no stamps on it. Now in the last hour, the stamps are appearing again, several of them. It seems worse than before...yay me! :) Any ideas why? Should I submit a ticket to LL?
