Use megaprims where needed. Your customers would just be annoyed if they would need to edit your product and replace pile of regular prims with megaprims. There is absolutely no reason to avoid megaprims. (Exept maybe those 4 people who still believe that megaprims cause more lag than smaller prims. They have not heard that the bug was fixed 2007)

Actually, in SL you can smoke a joint only in Adult area. I refuse to obey that stupid new rule.

Blog post "On the Road to Local Payments" Previous forum thread about the rocky road to local payments. Thread been locked and archieved. Blog post with a solution to put people back to old payment system. My case: I found out that i was not able to buy L$ trough the client, and then realised LL has not taken my tier either. Found the new payment system and tried to re-enter my credit card info again but the system was not working. Phoned to my bank to make sure everything is fine on their end. First i tried support ticket to billing. But they told me that they refuse to take care of billing issues and that i should try live help instead. Live help was not working. And when i told this to the billing support people they asked me to DL and install Opera web prowser but with that Live help also failed to work. So as my last resort i sent e-mail to billing. First couple times they just asked me to re-enter my card details to the new payment system. I got banned for not paying my tier. Then they finally agreed that the new payment system is not working, and that im not an idiot who fail to fill a simple form. They promised to take care of the problem in 72 hours. Then i went to the limbo of sending mail to the billing and telling them that it has been a week and still nothing has happened. Always got the same reply. Wait another 72 hours. Over and over again. So the magical monday came and i got mail from LL telling that i been put back to the old payment system and 2 clicks later i had my account back. Roamed the grid a lil with my unbanned account and then went to RL bed. Woke up to find out that im been banned again for not paying my tier. Now it seems LL want me to pay my tier for the time im been banned. Not funny. What is your story? Would you pay for nothing? Am i alone with this problem or are there again hundreds of people with same problem?

Not good idea from LL to hide the Resident last names. If it would be visible everywhere, it would be lot less confusing to new people. Edit: There are no single name accounts in SL. It is technically impossible. There has always been and always will be only 2 name accounts. Hiding your head in the sand does not make the world disappear.

The difference you ask. Here is the difference it makes: The sqatter is taking sim resources from the people who pay to use the resources. When you live in a sim you care how much resources you use. But squatters don't care. The ugly mall is also eyesore. Ugly lag might be positive to you, but the OP and i disagree with you. Offtopic: No one want the freebie mall's. If someone accidentally buy something from such mall. The person will just regret buying it week later when the person realise it is that crappy free crap that you get for free from every freebie hell.

Yes, just like what Qie said. When people stop paying tier. Most of the time LL do nothing to the land, and it just sit there causing trouble to neighbors for years and years and years. Rez sculpt mountain to cover the mall. Apply matching terrain texture. Cover it with pretty trees and bushes. Fill the entire prim quota of the land to prevent more junk from littering the land. If the sqatter still make trouble some way: Make ALT and can rez a freebie house to the land so that the root prim is on the problem parcel, and that the house poke on your land. Then AR the house once a day untill LL arrive. Usually when LL come to clean the parcel, they see that the land been unpaid for years. And LL will finally claim the land back to governor, and wipe all objects from it.

Im not very happy with the new layout. Goguen and Cordova were the very first sandboxes in SL. They have historical value in SL. The very first places where our creativity was set loose. Not funny that LL changed these so much. Sandbox islands were created because residents asked to have a sandbox where we safely test creations without fear of them accidentally spreading to mainland. I like having the new waterway. But i think it should been done like Marianne planned. She actually went trough all the trouble to talk with the users of the sandboxes to get a design that would please the users. Some of the users of these boxes been there since the beginning of SL. Also, these boxes get a daily dose of disposable griefers and their self replicating gray goo poo. Nowdays LL dont respond to abuse reports like they used to. It appears that LL dont have even one person online after SLT midnight. So even a griefer attack that creates hundreds of abuse reports dont get taken care of before 8 hours later when LL wakes up and start to read the AR's again. So users of the sandboxes have created gadgets to push the griefer goo off-world. With the new layout, some boxes are more difficult to clean with such gadgets as some of them dont have off-world on one border anymore. Edit: Also, Make the sandboxes no-entry. They orginally were no entry so that the lil safe zone parcels with the sign works. When we take annoying follower to the sign parcel with no-script and fast autoreturn time. The follower cant escape the sign parcel cause the sandbox parcel were no-entry.

Having the Snack sims is a great idea. And i think we should keep them in the future too. It is lot more comfy to do testing of future server versions on the main grid.
