  1. Looking round inWorld and on MP for new outfits I get the impression that creators are delivering ranges for male residents without Slink versions. Is this a conscious decision on the part of designers? Am I going to find it increasingly difficult to access outfits for a body I have worked on over the years? Any thoughts? Ianto G
  2. Hi, I've found a great pair of western style ankle boots but I'm struggling to find a pair of jeans that fall naturally over the boot without the upper part showing through. Any suggestions or recommendations, please? IG
  3. Found a great pair of Western ankle boots but they show through all the jeans I currently own. Can anyone suggest a creator who has a Slink fit jean in their collection with that bit of flare at the bottom that will cover the boot top?
  4. Hi Orca, Thanks for your reply… 1. Mac drivers are automatically upgraded with system upgrades… there's no manual download/install 2. Only in SL (both Firestorm & default viewer) 3. It's the card that comes with this graphics intensive build 4. In conversation with Apple… hope they can help 5. Sorry, didn't mean to frighten you… since my avi decided he wanted to dress as a white face clown I've met a lot of people who suffer from Coulrophobia. Sometimes he scares me, too
  5. Thanks, Dana, Taken your advice and not running in full screen anymore. Have reduced window size too. So far we are behaving ourselves… fingers crossed :matte-motes-not-entertained: IG
  6. Since having my graphics card replaced I am experiencing loss of picture after being logged in for about 10/15 minutes. This presents as a couple of flashes and then a white screen. Sound is fine and I can see at the very top edege of the SL window that my cursor is moving on the desk top behind but I can't quit because I am not able to see the 'quit' dialogue box to select 'yes'! Also, because the SL window remains open and covering the screen I can't select 'Force Quit'. Using latest firestorm on an iMac OS X 10.9.4 3.4 GHz Intel Core i78 GB 1333 MHz DDR3AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB graphics Have reduced graphics to Medium (previously always run in High mode) and lowered draw distance but this doesn't seem to have made any difference. Advice on where to start looking to resolve this problem much appreciated… IG edited: for clarification and extra info
  7. …and what I want is to be is 22 years old with a 28" waist again… but I'm afraid that ain't going to happen, either. What you are asking for is going to cost a lot of US$. For a skilled artist to create the shape and a detailed skin would take many hours of work and then to build a one off, unique hair plus weapons and accessories! Days of work! Besides, before even starting on such a product there is the issue of copyright. This character has already been created elsewhere and is subject to intellectual property rights at the most basic level and, doubtless, has a registered copyright anyway. Save yourself a fortune. Learn to modify your own avatar shape then search the market place and in world shops for the closest skin match you can find and afford and have the satisfaction of creating your own avatar, similar to but not a copy of this character. Good luck
  8. It's Tuesday: rolling restarts throughout the grid, happens every week Tues/Weds. Always check here http://status.secondlifegrid.net Should be all back to normal now
  9. It's real life. Out with the Oscar, the dog, the other morning we wandered past a large, five bar style, tubular metal farm gate. Familiar gate, part of our usual route. Some piece of farm machinery had obviously caught the gate and it had twisted slightly with a big kink in the middle. My initial thought (muttered out loud) was, "Oh, that gate hasn't rezzed properly!". I didn't look but I could feel Oscar sigh and roll his eyes…
  10. Hi, Cyber, Save your money. Shop around in world or the MarketPlace for a skin that closely resembles the sort of look you want, wear your basic shape and then spend some time learning how to adjust the shape to create the avi you want in Edit Appearance. Playing with the sliders and seeing the effects they produce can be really absorbing and the results satisfying. Just remember to keep copies of the shapes you create, naming them, for your own reference. YouTube has some excellent tutorials on editing Avatar appearance. Find the creative you, have fun along the way and keep your hard earned cash in your pocket! A small outlay for a good skin with the right hair can produce fantastic results! Enjoy :matte-motes-big-grin:

    Help?

Hi Ragdoll… Firestorm has a help group. Search inworld for it and join. Ask for help with retrieving inventory, they have a lot of information available. Good luck
  12. Hi, Nastasia You can access a lot of help inworld if you join the relevent group/groups. Firestorm have an excellent support service, for instance. Hope you've sorted all your issues successfuly. IG
  13. What a great idea! As some previous posters have pointed out, there is the issue of time zones. I'm UK based and not particularly at my best at 3 in the morning but I'm sure there is a workaround here somewhere. I raise my hat to you
  14. Thanks Marianne… fab link which has taken me off in yet more interesting and fun directions. Don't you love it when SL does that to you. …waves to Marianne and returns to his flit…
  15. Thanks Drake… assumed that the whole thing (pose and rock) were worn and rezzed as a posed animation and might be available somewhere. Checked through MP without success. Will keep looking!
  16. Flitting around, as one does, I noticed a very attractive avi sitting astride a floating stone/pebble but before I could (politely) enquire where she found this pose or check her name, she'd poofed… So, if anyone recognises this animation, please share details …returns to fllitting…
  17. Since a recent Firestorm upgrade the sim, on which I have a parcel of land, appears to be several feet lower than the SL normal level. I do not have EM rights. This is, I believe, an old and known bug but is there a fix or workaround available?
  18. Since a recent FS update the sim, on which I have a parcel of land, appears to be several feet below sea level. The whole area has dropped. The sim owner and others who visit cannot see this, although some of my friends can. I waited for this week's roll outs to see if the issue would be fixed by the usual maintenance but the problem is still there.
  19. Hi Tristan, I'm running an iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 duo with 4GB 800Mz DDR2 SDRAM VidCard: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS Things were pretty good up to about V2.4 or 5 then it all started to snarl up… and now it's just totally broke for me!
  20. Well basically this 2.8 update has broken my SL! I can't move… the lag is beyond ridiculous. My graphics are set at mid and it's like wading through treacle (molasses). On the upside my garden has reappeared and I can count prims. :::sighs:::
  21. This is a known bug thrown up in the latest Viewer 2 upgrade… check the forums http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Viewer/Object-and-Prim-counts-broken-in-2-7-4/td-p/975243
  22. Saved clipped image as a .png file and imported… problem solved!
  23. Ahhh… thought it would probably be too simple. Will resave as tga file and try again. Thanks for all help Ianto
  24. A 'clipped' image, created in PS and imported as a texture appears with a white background where it should be transparent. How do I create a prim which has the image appearing on a transparent background. …I bet it's simple and I am just not seeing something I need to do :matte-motes-bashful:
  25. Hi Bedwyr… Simply open an IM with the person you wish to share the folder then drag the folder from your inventory to their IM window, like posting a letter! If they are with you, drag the folder onto their tag. Enjoy
