  1. The gnome jammies are priceless. And your husband is a brave man for wearing them.
  2. Nalates website has this link: http://insertfunnyname.wordpress.com/2013/05/07/linden-labs-new-tos-the-bank-secrecy-act-and-you/
  3. Anyone that denies Titanic is in denial. The list so far is really good. Wrath of Khan for trekkies is a tough movie to watch, no matter how many times you see it.
  4. I'm really sorry for your loss. Pets are like family members, and it leaves a hole in your life when they pass. Time will heal, and maybe another special critter can be adopted into your home. Lord knows dogs really feed on love and attention. I'm sure you have plenty to share
  5. Using the latest Firestorm release, I go into wireframe mode then back to normal and it gets everything rezzed for me. Control + Shift + R will take you into wireframe mode, do it again to get out of it. This is not a fix, nor a gaurantee to work, but is working for many until LL gets a fix in.
  6. Not what I meant, but read into it for yourself what you will Another idea would be to tick off a check box in the edit shape window on values you don't want changed, so when wearing a new shape, those values would remain the same. That would be simpler than a notecard with values.
  7. I'm not talking about the full shape. Is anyone reading what I'm posting or just replying at random? This is more of a power users option I'm talking about, not something I would ever expect new or casual residents to use.
  8. There are 12 slider values for the Torso, and 8 for Legs. If I buy a new shape but want to preserve my torso and legs values, Those 20 values could be on a formatted notecard which could be drag/dropped into the shape editor. Done. Easy.
  9. Maybe I didn't make myself clear... Instead of buying a modifiable shape and then having to change torso and legs the way you want, you could have those values stored on a notecard that you could just drag and drop to change those particular sliders. Or maybe a skin you buy has a styling notecard with values for the face/head, and you can drop that in and not have to mess with anything else. And you can save those values on a notecard through the edit shape window. Nothing you would have to manually type out. This isn't a system for everyone, but for those that like to change their skins/shapes a lot and like to try new things. This would give some flexibility along with saving features you don't want changed.
  10. Imagine a formatted notecard with slider values for any/all shape categories that could be drag/dropped into the edit shape window for instant changes. The notecard could be hand typed or created in the edit window. This notecard could be included with skins to allow buyers to get the look they want with the skin instantly, and the notecard could be edited to delete certain aspects you don't want changed, such as neck length or nose size or hip width. I thought of this a long time ago, but I bring it up now because I have the toughest time with values above the shoulders :) Would be nice to buy a skin and have a styling notecard with face values in it I could just drag/drop into my shape edit window and not effect torso or legs. Looking for thoughts on this.
  11. This was my first makeover.... After this it was touch and go.
  12. Lumiya rocks and is worth the money. Renders mesh well too. I love it on my droid phone.
  13. So as i was going through my pictures folder, I found this screenshot I took on the beta grid way back in June of 2007. I don't quite remember why I went there, but it was a very busy day there!
  14. Well since everything on your side seems infallible, I guess it certainly must be a SL problem. Solution found!
  15. I recently went to a store that would simply not rez textures. In fact, most of the sim was covered in gray. I went back yesterday and it rezzed fine. No clue what made the difference. LL is testing Server Side Baking, which may or may not help in a laggy situation with more than just a few avatars. But I'm crossing my fingers! Here's a link about it: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Tools-and-Technology/Project-Shining-to-Improve-Avatar-and-Object-Streaming-Speeds/ba-p/1583465
  16. If I'm reading this correctly, as a content creator you are no longer taking responsibility for your product Ann. It is now in LL's hands, as you say. It is up to residents to report on all your failing product all over Mainland. Fine. Let the AR's roll.
  17. LOL awesome pic! In Muslin sim they sometimes get trapped inside a Linden building and bounce around like a trapped animal. sigh
  18. I follow http://fashionfeedofsl.com quite a lot, and follow the slurls in the posts to items I see that interest me. I have found the most awesome stuff this way. Prepare to refresh the page a few times through the day, it's a constant stream of awesome photos.
  19. There's a photo contest I've seen listed in Events recently that does the same thing. Car salespeople invade second life as well.
  20. Well said. I was JUST sent a random IM inworld with a link to an ouside web address, that was NOT connected to Linden Labs or Second Life. It was meant for someone to click to check out a free item that appears to be on the Market Place. I was at a club in SL few months back with nice people sharing links to youtube videos and pics in general chat. How do you know for sure that these are legit and safe? My advice : don't take a chance to find out. I cannot stress enough to people online, do not click on anything until you feel secure it is legit. Even people you know can pass bad links without knowing it, so having knowledge of the person does not make it safe. Peace
  21. Gimp http://www.gimp.org/ is a free program, similiar to Photoshop. There are plenty of tutorials for it too.
  22. When I was first introduced to SL my friend told me to turn over my First Land 512 and rent a plot off mainland. I spent several years this way, mostly in Azure Islands before it was turned over to a new owner and most sims were separated. It took several tries but I eventually fell in love with mainland, and will not go back to private sims. I love the roads to travel on, and discovering new things. I bought a 512 roadside plot to put some cool free stuff out for people to find. And as mentioned before, I like the no covenent on my parcel, so I can use it for different things without worrying about commercial or other rules. Happy trails!
