  1. Well mesh heads cannot emote. They can blink, and maybe smile... about it. Mesh avatars are frozen in time. Changing shape or skin doesn't happen. What you see is what you get, and that's about it
  2. It needs to be said, that when it comes to matters of advice when dealing with financial matters, and sticky businesses like Paypal, you really need to check into it all yourself. Don't take someone's word as if they represent LL or Paypal or any other business. You need to find this info out for yourself. Noone here in these forums is a paid and trained representative of ANY business. What they say may be true, but you can't know that. Do your own homework on this people.
  3. I wouldn't spend extra money to be able to upgrade a laptop. My biggest concern with a laptop is it's reliablitity over the long term compared to desktops. I don't know how much this has improved recently. [Gazes into crystal ball...] In 2 years, my concern would be the ability to buy an upgraded video card for that machine. Technology changes so rapidly that it will most likely be outmoded, and buying a new laptop would most likely provide better performance for the money. My opinion is both look like great laptops and will handle SL just fine, as long as the viewer you use recognizes it and plays nicely.
  4. This thread is mind rape. Can't believe it's still going lol
  5. You can delete your account, but not put it on standby. One thing I wanted to mention was if you decide to just let your account sit without deleting it, remove payment info if you have it, in case your account is compromised while your away. You may lose inventory, but you won't have to worry about charges to any RL account that is connected. I recently did this with alts that I don't use anymore.
  6. Starheart McMasters wrote: Seems like most of the new clothing coming out is mesh now, and I really hate it. I'm not going to alter my shape just to fit one of five predetermined shapes for mesh! It falls right in to the media hype that says if we don't look a certain way we're not ok, which I think is abominable. And while there are some great styles in mesh, none of them fit right and look boxy and make me look really fat! I would never choose to wear stuff like that in real life, so why would I do it in Second Life? And forget the lovely movement of clothing when you dance. just does not happen. I just got a beautiful dress that shows my nipples. It came with directions to change--not the dress, but my body. Not going to happen. For this reason I will NEVER buy a mesh outfit unless there's great improvement, and the freebies I get will for the most part wind up in the trash. I have literally hundreds of outfits in my inventory so if I never get another new one, oh, well. Mesh standard sizing has NOTHING to do with looking a certain way or you're not ok. It has EVERYTHING to do with creating a standard for the failed implementation of mesh, so creators can offer clothes that will fit. Creators don't have the time to make 50 different size offerings per outfit. And wearing shorts with a prim between my legs to make it "look" like a miniskirt is crap. Mesh fixed that at least. Some mesh outfits don't look that great. Some are incredible. Shoes look great in mesh as well. Depends on the creator though. And there are a lot of talented creators out there. Seems you missed quite a few of them.
  7. "The U.S. Treasury Department's anti-money laundering unit, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), issued guidance in March that labeled digital currency firms as money transmitters, thereby obliging them to put in place anti-money laundering programs and register with FinCEN." Is that what LL had to do?
  8. Thank you for those links, those are REALLY nice aves! I've been needing a new fur ave since most of mine are very outmoded
  9. I live right across from this place. It's very cool to check out if you haven't been here. I wonder, was LL going to have carriage rides out of here, and abandoned the idea? http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Muslin/161/61/122 I also notice this part of the forum is flush with event notices. Is there a gray area between favorite destinations and events??
  10. It's actually a good post. It raises awareness of all the different things about SL, and how we perceive it.
  11. I don't know about the nose part. I would be the type to throw that out there if it was too big
  12. Could be their monitor displayed it differently when blending. Lighting could have been a factor. I know there are appliers for skins now to help match, but I've not used those, so can't speak from experience. Maybe they couldn't use appliers with their product.
  13. I ran into this a few weeks ago... here are my specifics: I own the land, it is mainland parcel, and it is NOT deeded to group. I have build for everyone turned off most times, but when I got the error message as you did, I turned it on temporarily until I was done. This worked for me.
  14. It's in Pavonia Sim here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Pavonia/185/239/119
  15. Thank you for saying something. I usually have a small store to play with in-world. I want to do things right, and this was a good reminder about item information. I'm updating my vendor signs now
  16. I am neither an HP fan, nor an AMD fan. Find something with an I7 processor.
  17. That depends on the sellers. I've seen some with redelivery terminals at their stores, but I'm not sure how long you have to do this after initial purchase. Your inventory window has a Recent tab, check there. There is a search box at the top of your Inventory window to use as well. If you are sure you unpacked them correctly and didn't receive them, clear your cache and relog.
  18. What did you unpack? Can you go to the place you purchased it and get a redelivery? If it's copy you should have another in inventory...
  19. In my eyes, AnnMarie is nothing more than a griefer and a troll now.

[12] Michael Linden: If a train looks like a potato with twelve noses and "eat at joes" written on it, that's fine with us (TOS-ly speaking). [13] Try clapping with two hands Yevad.
  21. AnnMarie Otoole wrote: Awww pity party, nowhere in the TOS does it say anything has to be realistic. Why don't you write your own self navigating script and walk an inch in my shoes. No one else has been able to do it. True it isn't perfect but it is the best there is. If my vehicles spin, jump, roll, spew smoke, park, fly, who are YOU to tell me what I can and can't do in SL? You conveniently skipped the part where it ran into a building off the road. You have been ignoring this fact over and over. Instead you look to derail the conversation about us complaining about appearance, when it's their behaviour we are justified in discussing.
