  1. I think you misunderstood me. We don't -take- any money. We -gift- money, in contests (boards/trivia etc) My comment about tier was pure frustration because it doesn't matter how long you've lined their pockets, you still get treated like dirt unless you're one of the "names". 5k per game if you have 20+? What about normal everyday sims that have maybe 3 games, a contest board and a trivia ball? Yes, thats sims like ours. Sim's created for fun, not profit, who are going to suddenly have to pay for the privilege of...giving away gifts because it may skirt the line of chance/skill to determine the outcome of the winner? Yes, great idea Linden Lab, I can see they thought this through really well for non-profit entities. Can ya see where I'm going? Little people screwed over for the rich ones, as always. Winning.
  2. Hi Innula, What I meant by "paid into" is that most contest boards for example, allow anyone to add to the prize. That's not pay to play, that's simply more people adding to the pot as a gift. Our events are never set pay to play, people just get generous and throw in. It should be seen and determined to be a gift. This is what I mean, it's all grey areas and no info. I find it even more ridiculous if you CAN set such items NOT to accept other peoples money, why that is not sufficient on a single sim with 1 game/contest board etc. LOL It's just... absolutely stupid for the little guys. I don't expect LL to answer "me", I DO expect them to answer in more detail the ridiculous changes they are inflicting on the grid as a whole. Considering we pay a fair slap of money every month for very little help and even less options, I don't think it's much to expect. They stopped bothering to respond at all pages ago.
  3. I don't particularly care if giant "casino" and "gaming" sims are slapped with extra fee's and the need for licenses to be honest, they fleece enough people everyday and make a giant profit to be able to afford it. I can understand why these places may need legitimate licenses. What I care about and can't understand is the absolute disregard LL has shown for the average person, yet again, who run games, contests, trivia and other random events for FUN that "oh no" sometimes includes linden prizes. These prizes (at my venue at least) are -gifts- from myself (or my staff) to our VIP's. It's a simple fun random thing to do every now and then. My community is non-profit, and has fed LL's grid with a steady stream of traffic for nearly 6 years. 6 years of tiers and you expect more, from countless non-profit entities that simply exist for the pleasure of others. I cannot afford to run a non-profit community, and pay for a "gaming" sim + license + application fee + solicitors fees purely so I can GIVE AWAY small amounts of L$ as gifts occassionally, using random things like trivia balls (skill) or contest boards (chance mostly), and I find this, "Second Life residents will need to make this determination on a case by case basis" to be a complete cop-out in regards to simply leaving us all open for a hard slap we don't deserve. Do us a favour and actually answer someones question about THIS. Non-profit gifted PRIZES and CONTESTS. And don't sling out the same response about items being able to be paid into either, thats ridiculous and answers nothing. We're all aware these items can be "paid into", but it doesn't fall into the same category as a giant "gaming sim", nor should it. You need to ammend this change to include SOMETHING for normal users so as not to screw over the majority of the grid, which is exactly what you're about to do. Money-grab much?

I'm sure you can understand our concern not to force potentially broken updates onto the grid just to hit a deadline. __Oskar My main club sim has somehow ended up on this server, with no warning and no request if I mind and thus no permission to do so considering it isn't what I pay for nor what I want to pay for. I've put a ticket in to have it moved back to the main grid server and have been told "it can't be". So what happens now? I have to accept being moved back onto RC Servers without being asked? I'm meant to accept that we will have to apologize to live musicians, dj's and guests about the sims abysmal performance that I can't get changed, "because it can't be"? It's the busiest fur sim in second life consistantly and needs a stable server. Not RC, period. You helped me rid our sims of RC servers before because of the issues they cause my particular guests and live acts but this time around tickets seem to be going nowhere. Seriously, Linden Labs needs a "never put these sims on RC" list, because after last time specifcally asking never to be placed on them again, I am more than slightly miffed and seemingly have absolutely nowhere to turn now. So what do I do to get off this thing that IS broken, 'cause I have no idea anymore.
  6. Thing is, I need a premium account to keep the sims my community use. This option is just another way idiots and griefers can clone successful rule abiding citizens names and cause all amount of unnecessary drama. I get locked out because of an idiot? That inconveniences me and my community. I guess I am just silly enough to have expected the premium members get a say in whether or not "our paid for" names are public fodder or not.
  7. I'm still struggling to understand why a unique username I pay for can just suddenly be available to whoever wants it. We pay out the butt for tiers, uploads, membership.. for what? So our identity can be used by others who can't pick a suitable name for themselves? We may as well have freebie accounts, obviously paying for something unique means nothing anymore.
