  1. Well no, I certainly don't expect those who've been banned to step forward, nor do I really want to talk to them. But everyone has friends of friends, etc, and I was just wondering if it's possible if some people who have experienced harrassment, griefing, etc have ever found out what happened to the perpetrators.
  2. Anyone can read TOS (assuming they're literate) and buy a HUD. Do you think it takes a great degree of intelligence to use someone else's scripts and programming?
  3. Oh no need to apologize Knowl! lol One a certain level, I think LL views SL as a social experiment, and they prefer the the natives to devour their own and carry out the natural order of things. But it bothers me to see people try to throw their "weight" around and threaten and imtimidate people. It's frustrating when seemingly little is done to stop them.
  4. Knowl Paine wrote: Yes, multiple Reports from verified unique users will result in action. Undoubtedly. Egregious behavior that is Outstandingly bad; shocking. Conspicuously bad or offensive. Actions that are Reprehensible and deserving censure or condemnation. Activities which are immorally perverse and depraved. Any type of Fraud. Most everything else is just drama. It is unlikely that LL will get involved. Mute, resume Second Life. People like drama; it's dramatic. Yes, in this case since they have harrassed, made threats (used the word kill in those threats), used scripted objects to grief, and have crashed SIMS, that qualifies as more than simple drama.
  5. HI Perrie, oh yes, I've read the Support page all the way through, I'm all too familiar with filling out abuse reports (unfortunately). I should clarify, I am interested in hearing about the anecdotal, or anyone's direct personal experiences.
  6. What I'm asking is this. Does anyone know if filing multiple ARs with LL has ever resulted in someone being permanently banned from SL. And if so, to what degree of grievance must be committed in order for someone to be banned permanently? In this particular case I'm interested in, this individual is the "leader" of a biker clan and is guilty of inciting his members to grief, harass, and crash SIMS. This person has made multiple direct threats as well, and has been reported to LL for that. I have been told the only way a person could really get a permanent ban would be to crash a server. I doubt this person is capable of that, because all they do now is use scripts and HUDs they bought off Marketplace. This is not an intelligent individual, he and his cohorts simply have nothing better to do. One other thing, this person has told others (we both have him banned & muted) that my husband is on his "Kill list". If my friend has saved the conversation and sent it to LL, how would they interpret that threat?
  7. Sonya, my husband has been a long-time avid Phoenix fan, but he recently switched to the new Firestorm 4.0 with the new V1 skin, and he loves it. Here's a tutorial video that walks you through the new features: The Firestorm also offers different in-world classes. These are very helpful, and the instructors are very friendly and helpful and will try to answer any questions you have at the end of the class. Here's a link to their monthly schedule: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/firestorm_classes
  8. I'm surprised no one has come up with breedable/growable sex parts. You grow a whole crop and holy shiznit you got a blue tiger striped one and sell it to some poor sucker for 250,000 linden, whoop!. Hey...don't anyone go stealin my idea!
  9. I've known about SL for years, and had always wanted to try it, but I had a really old computer.I finally got a new computer and tried a few different virtual worlds for a while before I finally tried SL. At first, it was frustrating, because it's much more complex than other worlds. But, there were a lot of friendly, helpful people and a very extensive wiki and you tube video tutorials to help get the hang of things. It didn't take long before I was hooked. I sort of miss those early days of discovery in SL when everything is so NEW and exciting. You can make your avatar look ANY way you want, and SHOPPING...yeah I admit it, I LOVE to shop in SL lol. The best part was the people I met. I met my RL boyfriend in SL, we've been together for about a year and a half have a dog and a cat. I've made great friends...and I've lost friends. Now my boyfriend doesn't play SL much, so I only sign on a few times a week. I mostly just will chat with a couple of friends (the ones I have left) shop, or change stuff around our land. Sometimes, I'm not even sure why we still have land. Right now, I'm trying to find a new purpose in SL.
  10. Oh yes, also I have a few pairs of pumps by Juicy that are great too (no prim feet). I concur with Ariel Pixel Mode and Maitreya are fantastic. I'll post some landmarks later, or feel free to IM me in-world and I'll send you a notecard with links
  11. G-field has LOVELY shoes with an Alpha layer, and most of their shoes are only 200 L or less. If you don't mind spending between 500-700 linden for a pair of shoes, give N-Core a try. They have have styling cards that give you the RGB numbers to match your skin tone if you have a skin tone by LAQ, Belleza, Curio, Redgrave, etc. If your skin is a smaller brand, they will help you match. If you get tired of shoes, there's always BOOTS! BAX boots are pricey (900 L a pair) but they custom fit them for you right in the store, or even remotely. Pretty awesome, and well worth the price. If you want more casual boots, I like Mon Tissu riding boots. They look great with jeans, or a short summery dress.
  12. I've had this happen. Usually I would rez in with a grey face and body. I don't have as much problems in Firestorm, but occasionally it will still happen. I just take the tatoo layer off and then put it back on again, it usually fixes it.
  13. Thanks for all the comments . Yes, I think my friend is just going to have to hang in there and continue to just report them. Amethyst, you described this group to a "T". Hopefully karma will come around and they'll all get back what they've dished out.
  14. I had an encounter a few months back with this group (which I would gladly name, however I suspect it's againts forum rules to do so here). This is a biker group, a particular one whose members have watched too many episodes of 'Sons of Anarchy' and genuinely fancy themselves to be a real bunch of biker thugs *insert eyeroll*. Their purpose is to go around, threaten, harrass SL residents. They had a a grievance with myself and my husband for some reason or another (it's of minor significance). The whole lot of them came onto our land and proceeded to use attack huds, scripts etc. They attempted to crash the sim, but we had ejected and banned them before they could succeed. They were promptly banned from the land and muted, and that was our last encounter with these idiots. Now I have a friend who is being constantly harrassed by these bullies. Yes, that's exactly what they are – bullies. They come on alts and harrass her and attempt to grief her land every day. They threaten the club she works at, and the owner there. My friend has banned the known culprits, and has filed Abuse reports, but the harrassment continues because they still have alt accounts. Here is what I'd like to know. It seems like reporting them does little if any good. Maybe one or two might get a suspended account. But if this group is known to cause problems, is it possible for Linden Labs to take a heavier hand to get involved? Would they even bother? I know right now *ban*eject*mute* is probably the best way right now to deal with them, but I just don't think it's right that this group can go around threatening and harrassing people.
  15. I like Pixel Mode and Ricelli shoes. Lots of colors, and they look great. Shiny also has nice shoes without prim feet. If you ever feel like giving prim feet shoes another go, I reccomend N-Core shoes. They're reasonably easy to color match to a lot of the more popular skin brands, but I do believe their customer service will help you match your skin. They cost between 599-799 linden, well worth the price. The quality is far superior to some other shoe brands which sell for 1500 L.
  16. I love playing Greedy. I have a Monopoly table too. At first, people are enthusiastic to play Monopoly in SL, but after a while people get bored of it. I think Greedy is popular because it doesn't take much concentration (once you learn how to play) and you can focus on a conversation topic.
  17. How many "vampire experts" does LL have? They've overtaken the entire vampire discussion. It's good info for noobs (I think??) , but for everyone else, some of those posts sound really obnoxious and pretentious. Does LL have a new vampiric agenda?
  18. I don't know, my SL brother is gay, but he dresses really terrible sometimes. He loves to wear these jeans that hang half-way off his butt and show off his pubic hair. I love him, but i wish he'd wear his pants...just a tad higher LOL.
  19. Well you always see the big, barrel-chested guys going around shirtless with leather pants and boots. That gets a little tiresome. But really, as long as they put some effort into how they look...good for them. Whatever style they like, go for it. Most men are just as - f not more - particular about their looks in SL as women are. My boyfriend loves his biker/goth clothes. He likes very 'masculine' looking clothes. He likes jeans and leather jackets mostly. He's also my RL boyfriend, so I've noticed when I've gone shopping with him, he's very particular about the kind of shirts and pants he wears. He's a leather jacket N' jeans guy in RL too. That's the type I'm attracted to, I've never cared for the metrosexual/hipster look. I like men who look more masculine.

  23. In my opinion, I don't think your RL has to like everything you like, but she should at least be supportive of you because it's something you enjoy doing. Obviously I don't know your whole situation with your RL, but it doesn't sound like your terribly happy. Tell her how you feel. Tell her it's something you enjoy doing it and she should just trust you and let you enjoy.
  24. I've only ran into griefers one time, and they were terribly stupid. It started off with verbal threats. These individuals were part of a "biker gang", and had taken issue with the way one of their members was treated in my club. They're the types who advertise in their profiles, "Mess with one of us, we'll ALL come after you" and other such nonesense. They weren't even GOOD at griefing. For one thing, they came on my own land lol. Um...eject...band, and .002 seconds later they were bobbing up in the air, and I was laughing at them. So, if you want to "profile" these types, well here's my take on them. You have some groups formed in SL and they always claim their group, pack, clan is a force to be reckoned with, and they will come after you. Really? How so? Can they pixel slap you? No. Are these types hackers? Generally no, because typically hackers don't overtly advertise their "muscle". They buy huds on Marketplace and use them on their intended victims. No different than a pixel gun.
