The viewer encodes your password with the hardware ID of the machine the viewer is on. Even some Window updates can change the hardware ID so it's not just changing computers that will generate that message. It's a silly setup imo but has been relevant for years and many have complained about it so not likely they going to change how the viewer encodes the passwords.

    Thank you Arielle.

  2. So,

I got a brand new PC with Windows 10. I made all the needed system updates, yesterday.

Today I installed Firestorm (x64, 6.4.12.62831). I logged in with my username and password, after checking the "Remember" box.

I went inworld and checked how it was running, making little changes to my Preferences. I set Backup/Restore Settings path to an USB key folder where I had my settings saved. I asked Firestorm to restore my settings and it replied of course it had to be restarted. Ok. Then it restarted, and displayed this message:

"We were unable to decode the file storing your saved login credentials. At this point saving or deleting credentials will erase all those that were previously stored.

This may happen when you change network setup. Restarting the viewer with previous network configuration may help recovering your saved login credentials."

What should I do now?? Nothing was changed, nothing about Windows, nothing about network setup... it is the very first Firestorm installation on that brand new PC.

For it being LL's ISP, major SF area companies are experiencing major spikes in connection issues: https://downdetector.com/

    Hi Chaser,

where could I find that statistic?

    I used to follow https://e*****up.com/slstatistics/online-now-last-24hrs but it's gone from a long time. (e t i t s up dot com)

If you can't log in what message are you receiving?  It might not be something for the grid status and might just be you.

With my viewer I get the classic one:

    "Login failed.

Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong.

Please check https://secondlife-status.statuspage.io (oh, sure!) to see if there is a known problem with the service. If you continue to experience problems, please check your network and firewall setup."

I already checked, by another web site (https://www.speedtest.net/), that there aren't problems to reach Arizona servers from here. So the issue is not from here until there (thing that used to happen in the past).

I've also been having HUD troubles, particularly with the Maitreya Lara HUD. It might freeze, remain visible after it's detached, vanish will still attached, behave partially (some panes work, some don't), or work fine. This behavior seems region dependent, terrible in some places (like my new home) and fine in others (Ivory Tower or The Far Away). I suspect it's a matter of server loading/lag.

A relog or teleport usually clears things up for me.

Madelaine: I know that, here it is usually fixed by the menu option "Refresh attachments". The same for Catwa animations hud.

  6. Hi,

I am experiencing a very strange thing, never happened before in my SL.

In less than two days, four different HUDs, plus a mesh head, just stopped working, not changing no more, not responding to clicks. I can only attach or detach them.

The menu option "Refresh Attachments" doesn't help at all. Resetting scripts, when possible, doesn't help.

I had no crash; no other strange things happened. I don't wear more than 2-3 huds at the same time.

This way I lost (and I had to replace with copies) an AO hud; a Catwa hud; a Maitreya hud; a tracker hud; and a mesh head. Every object always worked well so far. They basically appear as "frozen", they can't be clicked no more.

    What is happening?

you post in general discussion... so you get all type of responses.

    I wasn't even off topic  :)

Alwin, I am sorry: please believe me, I was saying the truth, I was really happy about that. At least you really answered to my question.
