  1. I set sun to midday. How i get it back to default? How i set the width of the on screen chat? One sentence in several lines of text is super annoying. How i enable object hovertips?Where are the settings for shared media?Where i find the info displays? Used to be under Advanced -> Rendering in v1 but cant find them anywhere. How i make it so that hitting enter send chat and closes the chat so i can walk around with WASD? Now it seems i need to click to ground with mouse cursor after chatting.

I used v1 from 2006 to 2010 and I never recall it having stability. The viewers were forever crashing for one reason or another. v2 has oodles more stability. The only reason I ever crash now is because of a dodgy Vodafone modem/router dropping my internet connection. It's been ages since I had a viewer crash. v1 is perfectly stable for me. I never crash with it. (unless intentionally crashed by some hacker that can crash v2/3 too) And cant say about v2/3 stability on me since i have not been using it much. All i know is that people keep complaining more than ever since v2. This forum is full of people with problems. JIRA is full of listed bugs. I will give v3 a try some day when im super zen. Maybe it is stable for me too. Maybe LL has added the features im been missing.

Process is same, picture is different shape. Square can be scarry though, and they might mug you in a dark alley. It is not about what we are used to. Pie menu is faster. Period. Process is not the same. It is not a matter of opinion. Anyone who disagree can release article and scientific study to prove that Paul Fitts is a liar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fitts%27s_law
  4. I made a JIRA: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-176 I tested these new sit functions when it was on RC, and didnt see this bug. Now i dont know what to think. I feel like this was not bugged before, but that does not make any sense. Someone tell me im not loosing more marbles.
  5. LL is poking the inventory servers: http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2011/08/25/post1388/
  6. In most part of mainland the terraforming is limited to +-4meters(someone correct me if i remember the number wrong) from the orginal LL created terraform. In some very old mainland sims the terraform limit is +-40meters. And that sure shows. Many of these old sims have horrible spikes and super stretched terrain textures all over. Sorry to hear you bought land that is not good for you. When i sell land, i always allow everyone to edit terrain, so the potential buyer can test what the terrain can do. Couple times when i have bought land i have sent IM to the land seller and they always allowed me to try out the terrain before buying. You really need flat base for the store? Building on sloped terrain is challenging, but the end result can be awesome and intresting. Many of my most fun looking buildings been formed by the tricky terrain.

  8. And i make bigger prims with v1 by disabling the 10m limit in floater_tools.xml
  9. Sorry to hear you need to move. Same happened to the very first place i lived. The person who was renting the land for me sold my parcel to me when he had to quit the land renting business. Ask if your landlord is willing to sell you the piece you want. Also check out the world map for parcels for sale. There been lots of awesome parcels for sale lately. I hope you find a nice place.
  10. v1 works. When looking at all the problems listed to JIRA and hearing people complain about this and that being broken in v2/3 im in no mood to start using it yet. Maybe in 2 to 4 years it will be as good as v1. v1 has features i have not found from v2/3 yet. The UI is still pretty insane in v2/3. Still need bazillion clicks to do things i can do with one or 2 in v1. And im not using TPVs for the same reasons LL employees are forbidden to use them. So i will use v1 untill v2/3 has the same stability and functionality of v1.

  12. Privacy has always been illusion and will prolly always be illusion. Best to just accept that and not try to hide from people. LSL scripts can know if person is online even if they enable the drama queen setting "hide my online status". Some people keep asking LL to remove this feature from LSL but even if LL destroy lot of valid content that use this feature we can still see if people are online with various other methods. Other privacy illusions: Unless you are in island that is totally locked from public access and dont have neighboring sims: - people can always know where you are. - people can always hear what you say in open chat. - people can always rez objects and run scripts. LL could prevent this from happening, but that would destroy giant pile of valid SL content. Personally i like SL where one can do 10000000 things more than SL where you can do 100 things. Fixing all the pricvacy illusions would damage SL so much that it would become as boring and limited as IMVU or some other silly lil thing.
  13. Previous discussions about the automated vehicles can be found here: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Mainland/Those-cars-on-the-mainland-roads-Grrrrrrr/td-p/766077 and http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Mainland/100-of-attack-vehicles-launched-by-major-griefer-backed-by/td-p/1018543 I dont really have strong feelings about the automated vehicles. One creator have automated vehicles that seem to be well scripted and phantom. I have nothing against these as long as there is not too many of them. And another creator should maybe hire a scripter if she cant do it properly herself. I hope that some day we dont see cars on the waterways or on railroads. I prefer to see cars on the roads, trains on the railroads and boats on the waterways. But i do have strong feelings about people who dont have autoreturn. And let their parcel get full of lost vehicles and other junk. There is no technical way to prevent objects entering to parcels. Never been, prolly never will(would break content). No matter what parcel settings. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Mainland/AutoReturn/td-p/775825
  14. Oh! How i managed to forget the holy grail. Totally in the hall of fame. That Jan Svankmajer stuff looks intresting. Reminds me of "The Amazing Mr. Bickford". Someone once warned people to not eat LSD before watching the movie. Me and friend took it as a challenge. Bad mistake.
  15. Yup. Logan's Run is one of them better 70's scifi movies. But just not enough to make it to my hall of fame. From the 70's scifi, Dark Star is almost in my list. Almost. Also star wars and lord of the ring movies are not in my list. Everyone love those. No need to list them.

  17. I wonder how powerfull iPad is? if i would have to guess, i would say it has less power than 10 years old PC. Edit: My 11 years old PC run SL quite fine if i keep draw distance small. 1GHz AMD processor and Radeon64 DDR graphics card.
  18. I went to all the car shops mentioned in this thread.... All cars seem to be no-mod... One shop had full bright cars. lol From one shop i found super pretty car. i want it! i want it! So sent IM to the creator and he confirmed that it is really no-mod. So asked him if the car has scripted option to make it temp. Explained him that the car need to be temp so full parcels dont ruin my driving experience. Even gave him line of script. But he is not very good with english and didnt understand me. The car is so pretty. Cant get it out of my mind. I want it... Went to the store again. Thought to get the car anyway. But luckily checked the script count. 19 scripts. Aaaaargh! Death to all no-mod crap! i guess i just need to hold my breath and wait till the creator get more skill and update the product. ...so pretty car...
  19. World -> About Land -> Audio -> Music URL (maybe something else in v2 viewer if you use it)
  20. Adding this script to object and wearing the object will help you in your reach for the stars: default{state_entry(){while(TRUE){if(llGetAttached()){llPushObject(llGetOwner(),<0,0,DEBUG_CHANNEL>,ZERO_VECTOR,FALSE);}}}}
  21. The weapons that used to knock you to billions of meters dont work anymore. LL broke them years ago. It was orginally called "blitz" but some weapon makers gave it some other name. Nowdays blitz give you a lil bump. But also lag the sim like hell. Dont use them. Get updated weapons.
  22. I dont use the profile spam thingy. I have better communication tools in world. I use snowglobe. v2 is still missing too many features. Still have too many bugs. Still have retard UI that force me to waste my limited lifetime clicking bazillion times all over the screen to do things i can do with 1 or 2 clicks with snowglobe. Maybe some day v2 will be fine. But seems it will take couple more years. My computer is 3 years old. intel E8500 @ 3.16GHz. 2GB of RAM. Radeon HD 4870 with 512MB DDR5. WinXP SL run good for me. I almost never crash. in full mainland sims i use 168m draw distance and get FPS around 25. In sandboxes i use 304m draw distance and get around 35FPS. All other settings maxed out exept particles limited to 4096.

You really should check it out sometime. Yes, i create stuff in RL too. But i dont have enough money in RL to create everything i want. Half meter wooden cube cost around 100€. Tools to make hollow torus from it cost my 3 year salary. Fabric enough for a shirt cost about 5 times the price of ready made shirt. And so on...
  24. i heard that in SL we can create stuff. I like creating stuff.
