I am being stalked in Second Life. I try to file abuse reports, but they are never answered. I tried ___Linden account IMs, and no answer. I tried the 'abuse appeal' form, and someone sent me a standard cut and paste paragraph that said to block the person, but I have been on SL for six years, and I know how to block someone. I blocked this person years ago. This guy uses multiple accounts, and takes advantage of people. He's hurt a half dozen that I know of. ---And I mean months long relationships. And the people who suffer from them are deeply hurt. Again and again. And I can't get through the wall that Linden labs has built around itself so that it never has to hear anything from any account holder. It's impossible. Half the user help stuff Linden Labs puts out doesn't even work. I complained about him when he did this in the past, but Linden Labs did *nothing*, and this guy was able to carry on and hurt another three people. If I could chat with someone, IM, for a few minutes, I could give them lists of names that he's used, other people who've been stalked, but no.... not with the abuse report system. I'm watching a group of people being terrorized, and I am out of ideas. Replies to posters below : KarenMichelle Lane, In the first place, this has been going on since 2010, and it is a problem with the same person. I did not post about this in May of 2013, but 2011. That only proves how long this has been going on. (And how useless AR is.) Second, I blocked and banned this person back in 2010. But I can't keep track of what over a hundred other people make friends with. And it has sometimes taken months for their behavior to make it clear who they are. You don't seem to understand the situation. This is not some rude person showing up at parties. This is a person so psychologically disturbed, they roleplay a whole relationship, including marrying people. And they don't get tired and go away, because they're that disturbed. So don't dump this on me. And thanks for the attitude, I signed on tonight wondering where I was going to get a load of attitude. Oh, and why is it so impossible for someone at Linden Labs to chat with someone for a moment? What is it you're trying to say about them? I have found the technical people very helpful. The problem, which you seem to not understand is a) I have to deal with the chaos of hurt friends every few months, and more importantly, b) this person is conducting relationships with people who he knows want nothing to do with him. Apparently you can't imagine a situation where someone you don't like, and seek to avoid, comes back with an alt and befriends you under false pretenses, carries it on for months, and then you get the humiliation and degradation of finding out it was with someone you would never consent to be in a relationship with. It sounds to me like rape, but it apparently is fine for you. My point is, though, why did you post at all? Nothing you wrote was anything but a disdainful reply to me, which really doesn't count as help. I'm sure it's a natural response in you to attack me for reporting the failings of a system that you apparently believe in. However, your attacks are not especially helpful. Yes, my friends are predictable. We belong to the same group. I am trying to support that group. We also have a couple sims. You advice to me is to break up a hundred person group, abandon our properties and run and hide. That seems to be your approach to your own problems. I don't see why things should be like that. Does the member orentation for Second Life advise people that anything you make, anything you do, and friendships you have are subject to being stalked by people with admitted psychiatric problems who will stalk you out of the game? If so, I missed that. I have no idea how you have remained in Second Life with your attitude. And I'll pass on your advice, and thanks for the personal attacks.

Viewer 3 doesn't even let me login. Thank God for reliable Viewer 1.23.

Well, aside from the latest 2.X LL viewer, I don't want to get used to anything else, so the 1.23 is fine. They should always have a link to the last previous stable version, but if they do, I don't see it. I'll just have to stick with the old until another version comes out. Thanks so much for your help. Just knowing someone else is out there makes it easier. : )

I set it to clear inworld cache. I cleared my own cache. Both twice. I uninstalled the program. I rebooted. I reloaded. **Same damn black textures everywhere.** So I'll go to the older version, but that's viewer 1.13, right? What a dumb system. You think LL would want a view for it's own system. perhaps they can't design one?

Ah, you're wrong, but I caught it,---my app data is in my ThawSpace o:/ drive. I have tried it once, and it didn't work. I can tell something is NOT getting cleared, because when I reload and start Second Life, it still has my name already entered in the place where i would enter it, so something is not getting deleted.

First, ever trying to get help in Second Life is a painful and frustrating experience. It's insane. Nothing links to anything. For example, it's ludicrous that there are community help forum pages for anything but logging on, because you'd think SL would be a place for *inworld* social networking to solve SL problems. Second, my problem is all textures show as 100% black -except my skin and land. This started three days ago. But went away the next day. It also did not affect a second account I have. But the second day, it was a problem in both accounts. I changed computers. Both accounts were fine, but now my main account at computer has the problem. I searched help. I got an archived post which said to turn off all shaders, but did not say how to do that, and I spent an hour last night trying to do that, and gave up. A different archived post said, 'clear both online and offline caches'. And it provided a link to find out how to do that, and that link doesn't work. So I kept searching for how to clear caches, and I found one, and the information gives is wrong. I have a Windows 7 computer, and I do not have a place c:\users\<username>\... at all. So I'm f'ed. Any guesses how to stop this? Any guesses why SL is designed to do this?

Please explain more how you fixed this, I don't know how to 'turn off atmospheric shaders'. I am having the same problam.

There's an evolving problem involving numerous people, It involves RL stalking and possible criminal behavior, and some terrified people, can I chat with some Linden about this?
