The departure might be related to Blueberry accepting $6 million in investors funding: https://venturebeat.com/games/house-of-blueberry-raises-6m-for-digital-fashion-in-the-metavese/

It's possible the investors decided to focus entirely on Roblox.

It's interesting that none of the names of (RL) people quoted as being from the "House of Blueberry" were the name of the real-life person behind the SL Blueberry brand.

I've already stated that it's fine if others want to relate in a stereotypical manner -- it's a free world.

With #2 it sounds like you're meaning griefing behavior where giving attention to bad behavior is satisifying to  the griefer and so increases it?  I don't consider relationship dynamics between others as any kind of griefing though, so don't see your point.

What's your definition of "relationship dynamics between others?" Because your post about ignoring things or saying "no" being bad advice seemed to be more of a blanket statement. A lot of times when those suggestions are made the behavior is griefing. Some time ago we had a venue owner who was being constantly griefed by one specific person and  the owner put up Youtube videos about how hawribble the griefer was.

Surprisingly enough, the griefing didn't stop.

Sensitivity training starts at home and would be best if started by the child's mother as she/he is the one most likely to be aware and impacted by it. So again the onus is on the female of the species to learn and teach reading of the room and how to be sensitive to an appropriate approach.

Theresa Tennyson looks up at Zalificent's post.

Yeah I'll never understand this mindset -- the emphasis on advising a person to just block another or say 'no' if bothered by another person's behavior.  On the forum many times a person who is bothered by another is even described as 'weak' for letting the situation get to them.

Being unwilling to discuss the behavior we don't like in others is tantamount to accepting that behavior. And much of that behavior should not be accepted and by doing so it gives license to its continuation.

Oh I get it in that sometimes that's all we can do (say 'no') as it's impossible or too difficult to change another, and so it's a quick way to control the situation.  But we need to focus as well on the other party -- the one usually causing the problem in the first place.

    Now how about these cases:

    1) The behavior is unacceptable to you, but others find it completely acceptable.

    2) The behavior is generally unacceptable but is being done specifically to cause a reaction, meaning that the reaction is encouraging the unacceptable behavior.

I would like advice how to play SL. I notice that this game is hard.

    * hard to start : hard to have decent avatar. The learning curve is very steep and noboy to help.

    * hard to be social. How to get friends or playing with other. Impression that all player want to play alone

    * In secondlife you don't have a second chance. That part is the hardest. Maybe this is the reason why many people start with a new avatar.

My question : what advice you can give me to have fun and play with pleasure ? I try hard to have a nice avatar and make friends and even play games. But I do many mistakes and people don't accept my mistake. I have to be perfect from the first time. I try try try but I think it is like I do 10 try and the 9th is ok. But many times the 1st fails is definitive.

Do I play too seriously ? SL is supposted to be a game. This game affect my mood. When I loose That affect me and My value of myself diminushed or digreas.  I have the right word. My selfconfidence go down each time I do a mistake of I fail.

How to have less fails : I want to have 8 fails and then I success instead of 9. How to learn how to play? What is the correct way to play. Specialy socialy. Technicaly it is hard but I can learn it but socialy is the hardest part. Is it really a social game?

What is your advice? Stoping playing ? (if I ask that question it is because I want to play) - Making break I already did it ? Read documentation ? change my mindeset. I try to be happy and optimistic but when I fail how to be optimistic.

I notice also that very often I am lost in the game. I am somewhere and I don't know how to do how to play. It is like that I am lost.

I've noticed that you have a few quotes from "The Little Prince" in your profile, especially the chapter where the Prince meets the Fox.

    Don't forget this paragraph:

“What must I do, to tame you?” asked the little prince.

“You must be very patient,” replied the fox. “First you will sit down at a little distance from me — like that — in the grass. I shall look at you out of the corner of my eye, and you will say nothing. Words are the source of misunderstandings. But you will sit a little closer to me, every day…”

Just reading what you've been writing, you seem like you come on very strong and people who you start to be friends with end up avoiding you. People who talk a lot and want a lot of attention, especially when they've just met someone, can be exhausting for a lot of people. Few people come to Second Life to be exhausted.

No, it infers why do some people grow up and others don't. Some learn to deal with life on life's terms and others choose to remain a snowflake, ready to melt at the slightest hint of a challenge.

Theresa Tennyson considers a new SL business where she sells nice rounded rocks about the size of a fist and sheets of window glazing.

I'm not sure what to make of the arrows.

Perhaps there were no actual arrows involved, and the arrows are merely symbolic.

There were arrows involved, but they should be where the "+" between England and Scotland are. By the time Ireland was in play, they probably were mostly using firearms.

As an amateur vexillologist myself, the Flag Institute is quite correct about the Union Flag's status and usage.

The Union Flag (as it is correctly called) was originally created purely as a Royal Navy flag to identify King Charles I (1600-1649) ship's at sea, by including the patron saint crosses of his kingdoms of England and Scotland.  The Union Flag was originally designed to be flown to identify Royal Navy ships and not as a national flag, which is a much more recent idea.

The rules about the Union Flag are quite clear and strict, the flag is NOT an official national flag, as the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland is NOT a country and NOT a nation, it is a Sovereign State.  No act or law has been passed through the UK's Parliament or been given Royal Assent to make the Union Flag an official "national flag".

From it's use in the Royal Navy, it is the other countries of the world who have seen this flag on British ships over the centuries who have incorrectly assumed that the Union Flag means "the British flag".  It does not. The Union Flag is still a Royal Navy flag, which is correctly flown from the jack staff at the bow of a vessel, but only when the vessel is in port or alongside.

It is forbidden for civilian or commercial sea vessels to fly the standard Union Jack at sea, or while berthed in a port.  Alternative flags are used instead, the Red Ensign for civilian vessels and the Blue Ensign for government owned vessels (excluding Royal Navy vessels).

On land, the Union Jack is treated as a regimental war banner and used by the British Army. The army's variant has a narrower shape than the usual Union Flag.

The British monarchy grants permission for national organisations the rights and usage of the Royal Navy's Union Flag to represent the UK in a world where most countries have their own official national flags.  But the Union Flag is still a Royal Flag, not a national flag, as the UK is neither a nation or a country.

Theresa Tennyson attempts to track down her right eye, which just eyerolled so hard and fast that it literally popped out. Now she has to try and find it with no depth perception. Thanks. Thanks a lot...

^ This right here was my first thought. I now have to go through hundreds of mesh items, rez them on world, compare the LI to the listing and if (changed), change the listings, LI counts and sales pictures because I as well, put the LI in the main pic. I guess I'll stop that practice, that made things easier on the shoppers, since it will now cause me a whole lot of extra work.

If the download weight is the deciding factor for land impact it would have changed if the object was resized anyway.

I was talking about this to a friend last night, who saw the change a week ago, ( owns an RC channel region ).

The reasoning for the "free gift" is, to me, more newsworthy than the actuaal noticable change.

We give you 15 % lower LI on some mesh because...

"The need to waste additional LI on extra lights and PBR probes to stop our busted-ass PBR-fail making your house build interior too damn dark, will eat all the extra LI we gave you for free."

Yeah, I heard someone was going to send Linden Lab an angry letter about it but they broke their neck falling downstairs because they were walking around their house with the lights off.

Oh man, I'm such a happy camper. Now I can rez all my stuff on the marketplace one by one and see how the LI has changed and than alter that on the MP.
Have to redo each and every texture for my shop vendor, because they state the LI.
Man, hours of extra work for no extra sales.
Thanks LL. Just got to love this.
    :(

Because your customers will try to rip your head off if they find out your items have less land impact than the sign says...

I'm not sure I understand your need to control the thread. In other threads people have made proposals where the discussion went on ad nauseam.  Why is this thread different or in need of your control?

Since the thread only began today we haven't even had the chance for creators to weigh in. They're probably off somewhere creating and don't live on the forum as the forum regulars do.

Who are you and what have you done with the person who runs a two-region landscaping business?

(I mean, some of us might not be upset by whatever you did, but it's an interesting question.)

And 'hobby' is subjective -- what's a 'hobby' to you can be a real job for another.

If a consumer has a choice between something that's made by someone who's doing it as a real job and something made by a person who's doing it as a hobby, and the products are equivalent in quality but the "hobby" item is less expensive, which should the consumer choose, and why?

1000 TREES with a 2 year shelf life? That's L$199000 ! A whopping US$796 for a weeks work, of which you get to keep 60% after Linden fees and income tax. US$477 total spread over two years.

You're complaining about being paid hundreds of dollars to make imaginary trees that nobody asked you to make.

Onyx, sometimes situations occur in any society where people are treated unfairly.

It's unfair for somebody to be paid badly for something that nobody asked them to do at all? Squeegie guys at stop lights must love you.

I'm suggesting that the L$ presents a high apparent value, and that this exerts a downward pressure on the entire economy.

But if the L$ represented a low apparent value, why would people buy them?

Current protocol: "Ooo, 2000 Lindens for one $10.00 clicky? I'll do that..."

Revised protocol gets means significantly fewer Lindens or a significantly bigger clicky. Either one might mean no clicky at all, and even if clickys continue as each Linden becomes more preshuss it increases the friction of spending them.

You'd pay more for 'that one tree', true, but the creator would have gotten a decent wage for its creation.  How would it be an advantage for a creator to spend the extra time making 2 trees for you so that you get a deal?  How would that affect the overall economy except via giving the creator a higher wage for their efforts?

If someone was told, or even asked, to make that tree you'd have a point.

But how about someone who just wakes up in the morning and says to themselves, "I feel like making happy little trees"?
