  2. Below is the updated set of outstanding issues with Direct Delivery and the Marketplace. Direct Delivery The following Direct Delivery issues have been verified, but have not yet been addressed: WEB-4600 (Merchant Outbox failures): We have been working on this issue and will not shut down Magic Boxes until this is addressed. In some cases, logging out and in from the Marketplace and then the viewer may resolve this problem. WEB-4554 (Test delivery permissions incorrect): This is currently under investigation. Limited Quantity Support (Merchant does not have rights to copy the items for sale): This is currently being worked on. Magic Box migration will not be required until this is supported. (Note that Merchants can sell items that have next owner rights set to “No Copy”. Please see the Knowledge Base article on Object permissions for more details on how permissions work.) Overall Marketplace There are also several issues that occurred around the time of the Direct Delivery launch that we are still working to address, but are not issues with Direct Delivery. WEB-4587 (Listings with the wrong images): This is currently under test. WEB-4441 (Orders stuck in “Being Delivered” state): We have been able decrease the number of orders getting stuck and continue to work on preventing all orders from getting stuck. WEB-4567 (Bulk delete fails for some merchants): We will evaluate the priority of this once we have completed the above Direct Delivery fixes and features. WEB-4592 (Orders marked as “Delivery Partially Failed” on success): This is currently under investigation. WEB-4696 (Deleted listings appearing in search results): We continue to investigate this issue. WEB-2974 (Listing enhancement stuck in “Charging, cannot edit right now” state): We are investigating this issue. WEB-4138 (Confirmation emails failing to deliver): We are currently investigating this issue. In addition to the above issues, there have been reports of Direct Delivery purchases silently being delivered and the Merchant not getting paid (the order is marked as “Failed”). We have not been able to confirm this report and would like to investigate further, so please file a support ticket with details if you see this.
  3. We have updated the post and categories to respond to comments on Meeroos as a category. Please see the first post.
  4. As of this morning, we have added several new categories to the Marketplace. Many have been requested by Merchants, and some have been added to split up very large existing categories. We’ve also created a category to support the next banner promotion. Next Banner Promotion The next banner promotion is for the theme “Masquerade”, which could be the following: Costumes/masks for avatars Avatars that may be considered “dress up” avatars Decorations to support a Masquerade themed event Other items related to a Masquerade themed event If you would like to add listings to this promotion, please move them to the Celebrations/Masquerade category. We plan to launch the banner the week of May 21.   5. Today, Linden Lab launched Automatic Notification System (ANS). ANS allows those Merchants that used Xstreet with the Magic Box Delivery System to confirm that a delivery has completed and send order details in a consistent format to a specified URL. In order to support ANS with Direct Delivery purchases, we have made ANS available in Merchant Admin under Store setup on the Marketplace web site. Note that the Marketplace version will only support sending data URLs; it will NOT support sending data to inworld objects. For more details on how this system will work, please see this user created content on the wiki. Before we can retire Magic Boxes, we will need to complete support for limited quantity items (or items that are “no copy” for the merchant). The Commerce Team

  7. We have posted an update to our earlier forum thread. Here is the updated text: While we work to address current Marketplace issues, we will not require any Merchants to migrate listings away from Magic Boxes to Direct Delivery before June 1, 2012.
  8. Since we kicked off the migration process about a week ago, a number of issues have come up. While they affect only a limited number of Merchants, know we are collecting additional data from affected Merchants while we investigate these issues further. WEB-4587: incorrect images are being displayed on Marketplace listings. WEB-4601: related listings from other Merchants’ stores are appearing on some listings. WEB-4580/WEB-4596: orders with and without unicode characters in the product names are stuck in the “Being Delivered” state. We have pushed many of these orders through and will continue to do so until this issue has been fixed. The following are additional issues we are aware of and investigating further: WEB-4592:orders are marked as “Delivery Partially Failed” when all items were successfully delivered. WEB-4598: Direct Delivery redelivers products. Note that No Copy items cannot currently be sold using Direct Delivery. WEB-4574: Direct Delivery sends redelivery to the purchaser, not the recipient. VWR-28629: Merchant Outbox does not work on Linux. VWR-28630/VWR-28631: Merchant Outbox failures reported on Mac/PC. We have posted work-arounds here. WEB-4554: test delivery permissions incorrect. WEB-4567: bulk delete fails for some Merchants. Merchants can delete unassociated inventory items one at a time. WEB-4412: Merchant outbox failing silently. Also know that we will be extending migration dates. Please stay tuned for more details. Thank you to all of you who have taken the time to bring issues to our attention. We will continue to monitor JIRA and Forum threads for any additional questions, and will update each of these issues as we can. Update (March 31, 2012): While we work to address current Marketplace issues, we will not require any Merchants to migrate listings away from Magic Boxes to Direct Delivery before June 1, 2012. [UPDATE: April 5, 2012] We’ve identified two issues contributing to WEB-4587. The first issue concerns mismatched data appearing on Marketplace listings. This impacts a very limited number of Merchants and has been occurring since the original migration from Xstreet to the Second Life Marketplace in September 2010. We continue to actively work on a resolution. The second issue concerns incorrect listings appearing in search results. We have identified the issue and are actively working on a fix. The information provided by Merchants on the forum and directly to the Marketplace development team helped greatly in identifying the root cause of these issues. Thanks to those who provided information. We will continue to provide updates as we work through the issues.   [UPDATE: April 11, 2012] Today we updated Marketplace to address two of the top three outstanding issues: WEB-4580: purchases are now delivered to recipients with the inventory name (which does not allow unicode characters). This will prevent future orders from getting stuck in the Being Delivered state due to this issue. In addition, all orders affected by this problem have been pushed through. WEB-4587:  updates have been made to support updating store search results, which we will process over the next week; we continue to work on the issue related to mismatched data on listings. We do know that this issue has existed since September 2010 (during the migration from Xstreet to the Second Life Marketplace). We continue to work on the other Marketplace JIRAs and will provide additional updates as soon as possible.

  11. Merchants, We are aware of the issues reported in WEB-4587, where an incorrect image is associated with a Marketplace listing or other listing information is inaccurate. We are working on this issue and will provide an update as soon as possible. In the meantime, merchants experiencing this may do the following: Delete any image(s) that do not belong to the listing. Upload any image(s) you’d like to associate with the listing. Remove any Related Items that should not be associated with the listing. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience. The Commerce Team

We are reaching out to you directly to help you with this issue and are already working to make sure that everyone in support is aware that we will continue to support Magic Boxes until they are officially retired.   13. As part of Linden Lab's ongoing commitment to improve the Marketplace web site for all users, the web site will be undergoing maintenance today, Wednesday 28 March 2012. We anticipate that the web site will be unavailable for approximately 1 hour starting at 9am PDT. This has also been posted to the Second Life Grid Status Report page.   UPDATE: The mainentance has been completed and the web site is back up once again.
  14. The Commerce Team is aware of ongoing issues that are affecting the Marketplace web site. Review Counts were temporarily removed from display for search results.  Review data is preserved and the review counts are visible on the actual product listing.  The Review Counts on search returns will be re-enabled after further optimization is done to improve page load times that are still affecting many users. We are also aware of an issue with some orders stuck in the Being Delivered state and are actively working to verify the cause and resolve the issue. We are also monitoring the Jira system for other issues not included here and will be researching those reports as well.
  15. Greetings! Orders stuck in the Being Delivered state is a known issue that first manifested itself when using Magic Boxes. Now with sellers migrating to Direct Delivery the issue is still occurring. This does not mean that the issue is caused by different reasons, as Being Delivered Orders are still stuck irrregarless of which delivery system is being used. Since a Jira Ticket does exist for orders stuck in the Being Delivered state, please use the existing Jira Ticket to add comments regarding the problem.
  16. Greetings! Linden Lab is aware of some users having communication issues when trying to upload products to the Marketplace using the Merchant Outbox. The Viewer Team is actively working on trying to resolve these issues. Please ensure that you add your comments to the appropriate Jira Ticket to assist the Viewer Team further with their research on this trouble.   17. Greetings! We are aware that some users are still experiencing slow loading pages on the Marketplace after the web site was optimized over the weekend. We are continuing to investigate the issues and make changes to the Marketplace to try to optimize the web site as best as possible.

If you are trying to remove the old Magic Box products from your Unassociated Inventory section please see the Second Life Wiki page, located here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/DD_Launch_Questions If you are trying to delete products from your Unassociated Inventory Section that are Direct Delivery products, it is a known issue that the Bulk Delete option is not working if there is an existing Product Listing for the product. You should be able to delete the products using the Actions - Delete option for each entry. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4567

If your product was previously unlisted from the Marketplace for a violation of the Marketplace Listing Guidelines and a new violation is found regarding the product, the product will be blocked and you will receive the messages in the image. Please contact Customer Support through the Support Portal under Marketplace - Marketplace Listing Issues and a member of Customer Support will be happy to assist you further with understanding why your products were blocked, if necessary, and unblocking the products so that you can correct the issues.
  20. We have been working on improving the performance on Marketplace as quickly as possible. We have made some changes in search behavior which only Merchants will notice, which we have detailed on the wiki. We still have some work to do to continue improving performance, and we will do so as a top priority. We will be monitoring performance throughout the weekend.   23. Greetings! The old Xstreet SL web site is set up to remember that you have a Magic Box in world. If you pick up your Magic Box the web site will see that it has lost communication with the box and will send out an email to you to let you know. This can be resolved by going to your Magic Box Status Page and clicking the Remove Link located on the Magic Box entries in the Registered Columns Section of the page. Once you have removed the Magic Boxes from that page, you can also click the Sync Marketplace to Magic Box button on your Manage Listings page and all of the Magic Box products that are showing in your Unassociated Inventory Section on that page will clear.
