  1. As some of you may be aware, we’ve been working on a new Second Life feature called Viewer Managed Marketplace (VMM), which will streamline the process for Merchants of managing items for sale by using the Viewer to perform most operations. This project was announced at a recent TPV meeting. In brief, VMM revolves around a new, specialized folder that contains the items the Merchant wants to sell. The main benefit of VMM is that it will allow Marketplace inventory to be managed and delivered to customers from the Merchant’s own inventory, which Merchants can manage directly from within the Viewer. Special commands on the items in that folder, such as “List on Marketplace,” will allow certain operations to be performed in the Viewer that must currently be performed from the Manage listings web page. We are planning to have VMM available for Merchants to try out on Aditi in November or December 2014. Note that, even if the feature is complete, we are not planning to require Merchants to use VMM until after Valentine’s Day 2015. Please keep an eye on this forum for more details.
  2. We're aware of Marketplace slowness and are working on several initiatives to address the issues and improve Marketplace performance. Some early fixes have already been implemented, but more improvements will be coming soon. Once we've completed the shorter-term fixes (which should be in the next couple of weeks) we have planned, we'll blog to share additional details.
  3. Thanks to all who let us know that some items were getting delivered and orders were reported as failed. We were able to quickly fix this on Monday, February 3, 2014. We have been monitoring since then and have seen no continued problems in this area. Please file a JIRA if you see this or other issues in the future.
  4. As of today, you will notice a small change in your Second Life transaction history for Marketplace purchases. We will be using Commerce Linden as the escrow account for all purchases on the Marketplace going forward. Prior to today, money was paid by purchasers into the Currency Linden account.
  5. Thank you for the question. We have updated the instructions.
  6. We have completed paying out the Merchant payments and distributions for the period from June 25, 2013, through July 15, 2013, at 11am PT. If it does not appear that we have processed your payment, please file a support ticket for assistance. Thank you for your patience with this process.
  7. Thanks for the feedback on the L$0 transactions not appearing in the transaction history. You are correct; these are not appearing. We will address this issue as quickly as we can.
  8. For those concerned about L$0 transactions not showing in the Second Life transaction history: these transactions have not been removed, and you will continue to see L$0 transactions in your history. Due to the nature of the payout issues we have been working to correct, there are some missing L$0 transactions from the history from June 25, 2013 through July 15, 2013. These transactions will not be recoverable in terms of your Second Life transaction history. You should see all L$0 transactions after July 15, 2013, 11 am PT. If you do not see L$0 transactions that should be logged in your Second Life transaction history after July 15, 2013, 11 am PT, please make sure you have checked the box “Include L$0 transactions?” If your L$0 transactions are still not showing up, please file a JIRA. We continue to work on paying out the remaining missed payments, but the majority of orders have been paid out at this point.
  9. As of Monday, July 15, 2013, 11am PT, you should no longer see any orders with failed payouts to Merchants or those receiving distributions. We have made great progress on the process to payout missed payments and distributions; this process will continue into next week. If you see a failed payment for an order completed after July 15, 2013, 11am PT, please file a JIRA.
  10. We want to update Merchants on the latest release. We are still seeing some issues on a small percentage of orders. We continue to investigate this and will provide updates as we have them. We've started the process to payout missed payments and distributions for the period from June 25, 2013, through July 9, 2013, Expect to see those payments appearing in your Second Life transaction history over the next week. In addition, we will be processing any payments that continue to be missed as needed. If you would like to track any missed payments with us, you are free to file a JIRA, but it is not necessary. We will automatically be refunding any missed payments or distributions.
  11. We have just released an update to the Marketplace to fix the bug with Merchant payments. Starting in the next couple of days, we will be processing the missed payments. We expect this process may take up to a week to complete, so we appreciate your patience. Going forward, all payments should be made to Merchants and customers assigned distributions. If you see any orders processed after noon PT today (July 9, 2013) which failed to complete all payments, please file a JIRA. We will update this thread once we are able to begin the payment process.
  12. We’d like to clarify that Merchants will receive their failed payments whether or not they file a JIRA for this issue. As always, we welcome your help in troubleshooting the root cause of this issue via the JIRA process.
  13. We are working on this. Please see this post for more information.
  14. Thanks for all the feedback. We’ve been following along and here’s where the noted issues stand: The “Revise Your Item” link on the product listing page has been fixed. Merchants should now see this on their listings. Non-payment of a confirmed delivery of a product (Merchants not seeing orders in their secondlife.com transaction history): we have been working on a fix for this issue and will be releasing it as soon as testing is completed. We’re working on a process to make payments to Merchants affected by this issue, which will happen once we have released the fix for this. If this has affected you, please file a JIRA and let us know which orders were impacted, and we will make sure you get your payments. Reports of slower payment processing: We’ve been tracking transaction duration and have already made one improvement. We’ll continue to monitor and make changes as needed. The purchase process may seem to take longer because delivery now occurs during the payment processing, whereas it used to take place after the order checkout was completed. Duplicate orders/deliveries/charges: we have only seen a couple of reports of this. If you are seeing this, please file a JIRA so we have more information to diagnose and address the issue. Need a way to exit out of the payment processing portion of the purchase: we are looking at the options here. Reports of delayed ANS records: please file a JIRA so we have more information to diagnose the issue. As always, your feedback has proven very helpful as we make adjustments and improvement, Please keep the suggestions and questions coming.
  15. We are currently working on a fix. We will get this out as soon as possible.
  16. Hello Merchants! With the launch of the new payment system on the Marketplace, we will be joining the conversation in the Merchant’s forum to help with questions as they come. We’ll be around for the next couple of weeks responding to questions on a regular basis. Please let us know if you have any and we’ll do our best to answer them! CommerceTeam Linden
  17. We have added an update to the first post in this thread.
  18. For those of you who have had an incorrect image appearing on your listings--or have seen your image on someone else’s listings, we have come up with a supported process to get these listings cleaned up. Someone Else’s Image on My Listing If you are seeing someone else’s image on your listing, you should be receiving an email with a link for you to go remove those images from your listings. These images will be returned to the listing we have identified as correct. Any listings not reviewed by May 15, 2013 will be unlisted until the Merchant has a chance to remove the image manually and reactivate the listing. We will provide a summarized list of these and notify all Merchants whose listings have been deactivated. My Image on Someone Else’s Listing If your image is appearing on another Merchant’s listing, the following will happen: The Merchant will be notified to review their listing and confirm that the image does not belong with their listing. The image will be returned to your listing. At this point, you will be able to review your updated listing here (link). This may occur after the review period for step 1 has already completed. If the listing your image is appearing on is not reviewed in step 1, the listing will be unlisted to prevent your image from appearing on the incorrect listing. We appreciate your help in getting this cleaned up. UPDATE May 15, 2013 The period for updating listings has ended.  To ensure that incorrect listings are not shown to customers, we have taken down listings that have not been reviewed. Merchants can view a list of items taken down, if any. (Note that this page will be empty if none of your listings were affected.) Please review and make any changes before reactivating. Some Merchants may have removed images from their listings, at which point we determined those images belong with another Merchant’s listing. You may check to see if any of your listings were affected, and review them for accuracy.  You may then manually update listings that need further corrections. Thank you for your help!
  19. April 16, 2013, has arrived, and we have entered the second phase of Magic Box Shutdown. As of today, Merchants are no longer able to list unlimited-quantity items, regardless of price, using Magic Boxes. By noon PT Friday, April 19, 2013, any active, unlimited-quantity listings of any price using Magic Boxes will be unlisted. For the time being, limited-quantity items can continue to use Magic Boxes and will not be affected. “Limited-quantity” refers to items that the Merchant does not have rights to copy (such as breedable animals that are “no copy” for the seller). For more information on Direct Delivery and migrating to Direct Delivery, please see the Knowledge Base. If you have questions or problems, please contact customer support for help.
  20. April 2, 2013 has arrived, and we have begun the first phase of Magic Box Shutdown. As of today, Merchants are no longer able to list unlimited-quantity items for L$10 or less using Magic Boxes. By noon PT tomorrow, April 3, 2013, any active, unlimited-quantity listings for L$10 or less using Magic Boxes will be unlisted. Note that the following will still be allowed: Magic Box listings priced at L$11 or higher. All Magic Box listings with limited quantity items, regardless of price. Note that the second deadline is fast approaching. On April 16th, 2013: Merchants will no longer be able to list unlimited-quantity items using Magic Boxes, regardless of price. Any remaining active, unlimited-quantity listings using Magic Boxes will be unlisted, regardless of price.
  21. We have completed the category updates. We will be giving Merchants through May 1, 2013, to update existing listings to use the new categories before we begin enforcing the new category hierarchy. This will only affect listings which could now have a more specific category as an option. Please take a look at the category updates or the complete Marketplace category hierarchy to determine where best to place your listings. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback during this process. We hope these changes will make your Marketplace shopping experience even better.
  22. Due to delivery delays the weekend of March 9, 2013, some orders got stuck in a processing state. We are currently working to fail these orders and refund customers. If you believe you were impacted and do not see a refund from March 9, 2013 in your account by March 19, 2013, noon PT, please contact support.
  23. Q: I am getting told that I need to Create a Store, but I already am a Merchant. How do I get the Merchant Outbox to work? A: Use our Merchant Outbox Project Viewer to repair your Merchant Outbox. Here are the steps to follow with this project viewer: Download and log in to the project viewer. Select Me->Merchant Outbox. After the outbox has initialized, add a test item to the Merchant Outbox by dragging it to the Outbox. Click Send to Marketplace. If you you see the items removed from the Merchant Outbox and added to your unassociated inventory on the marketplace, your Merchant Outbox has been fixed. You may now go back to using your viewer of choice (as long as it supports the Merchant Outbox.) If you get a success message, but your items have stayed in your Merchant Outbox, do the following:Move the item from your Merchant Outbox to your main inventory. Find your Trash folder in your inventory, and right click to Empty Trash Move your test item back to the Merchant Outbox and click Send to Marketplace again. Your items should be removed from your Merchant Outbox and appear in Unassociated Inventory Items on the Marketplace. You may now go back to using your viewer of choice (as long as it supports the Merchant Outbox.) If none of the above work, please submit a support case.
  24. Q: When I try to send the items to the Marketplace I get an error message. A: Please check to see if you have rights to copy the item(s) you are trying to upload. Currently, items that you cannot copy will not be sent. If you do have rights to copy your items, please submit a support case with the error message information, and we will be able to assist you further. Q: I am unable to upload my Breedables through the Merchant Outbox. A: At this time, Limited Quantity items (items that the Merchant does not have rights to copy) are not supported through Direct Delivery. Q: What if i get an error message on the Xstreet SL site? A: The Xstreet site is likely experiencing high load. Please check the Second Life Grid Status. If all is well, just try again in 30 minutes. Q: I have a question or issue not covered here. A: Please submit your question through a support case so that we may assist you.
  25. Q: Are there step by step instructions on how to migrate? A: Yes, please see the Direct Delivery Migration Guide in the Second Life Knowledge Base. Videos are included to help simplify this process. Q: Will migrating to Direct Delivery affect my listings? A: No. Nothing will change except how the item is sent to the buyer and the process you use to update or add an inventory item. Q: Will my store disappear if I do not migrate? A: No. But your products will be unlisted and no one will be able to purchase your items until they are migrated. Note that Limited Quantity items will still be supported on Magic Boxes until those are fully supported by Direct Delivery. Q: I sell Limited Quantity Items, will my store disappear on 16 April? A: No. Limited Quantity Items may still use, and be listed with the Magic Box. Q: Do I have to unbox my items before I upload them? A: No. For the initial migration, it will be faster and simpler if you leave them boxed. Q: I have migrated my items, but I still see all of them in the Unassociated Inventory Items. Why are they still there? A: Those are the old Magic Box copies of the items and you may delete them. These will disappear when you remove your Magic Box from Xstreet: see the next answer for details on how to do this. Q: How do I remove all of the Magic Box items in my Unassociated Inventory Items? A: In order to permanently delete these items, you will need to remove your Magic Box(es) from Xstreet. You can do this by going to your Magic Box Status Page and removing all of the Magic Boxes that you see listed. After the old Magic Boxes are removed, sync the Marketplace to your Magic Boxes and the items will disappear. See the Migration Guide for step by step instructions. (If you just delete from the Marketplace, they will come back when your Magic Box(es) next sync.)
