Caspervend etc does not go down often, they had a major problem the other week because they were getting a sustained ddos attack and had to take steps to stop it, that took some days and i do believe there was another problem the other day. If your using their products then do join the group and make sure you update the vendors / rental units etc as recommended.

1024 x 1024 textures used on not just mesh clothing but other items slows down sl in general, instead of using more materials a lot of mesh creators put one or two textures / materials using these large textures. I am lucky it does not effect me as such because i have a high spec pc and graphics but many people use older pc's and then there are laptops. I always try to use 512 textures or less on my builds.

I also suggest that you NEVER leave your login info on automatic login in your browser or viewer. That is most likely the biggest risk folks take. I would say the opposite, if you store them your never ever fall for the fake MP links you get pop up in group chat coz when your click the space for your login name it wont come up and alarm bells will ring for you to check that url is correct, I have so many logins and passwords I could never ever remember them all, so i would have to write them down in a lil black book or something.

As far as I know no SL account has ever been 'Hacked' ever, you mention ' phishing' and that is down to lets say people being less than vigilant when clicking links etc, so that is totally down to the user to make sure they don't do anything stupid!

We are waiting to be gifted anything though ^^ faster cashouts = more charges, was the last upgrade, but I had fast cashouts via a 3rd party before LL banned that! I always told my friends if i ever won the Euro lotto big time I would have the ultimate virtual world built, but now I think I would just go shopping!

You do realise the reason for this, more prims = more content = more sales on the MP for LL^^ Regions have always had lots of extra prims in reserve for Avs if a region had the max of 100 avs all with 1000 prims plus, I have a pair or nice retro Vampire boots that are over 600 prims thats all taken from the region, but regions often only have what 30 or 40 avs in a club maybe more for a special event so all those extra prim count is never used. Residential regions hardly ever get more than say 15 avs max at one time so all those 10's of thousands of reserve prims are never ever used.

I will be more likely to spend my money on a new grid that will be online some time in the future who knows!

I will reply to myself lol, but... Private estates pay like $100 a month more than mainland they also are able to restart the sim thats not a perk it takes workload off of LL staff so why the hell are Private estates more expensive when we that own them save LL labour costs?

I would not be surprised is Project Sansar it a total failure and becomes a big white elephant, it will not in any way shape or form compete with SL for a very long time if ever. Put it this way Microsoft did not buy Minecraft for a very large sum of money for its good graphics did they, they bought it because its popular in the form it is.

The MP colour scheme seems to have changed it looks damn awful, even the MP logo dose not match now! whats up is this a mistake? lol. Ohh never mind it seems to only effect Firefox i just checked on Internet Explorer and thats fine!

You can use them in the texture setting tab in edit in sl you just drag them in or search them like any other texture just make sure you put the right one in the right box. Its in the texture tab in edit see the drop down that says Texture (Diffuse) click it and your see the specular and normal maps they will be blank until you drop one in it.

One thing to note is make sure you do a clean driver install, you can use a program called Display Driver Uninstaller by guru3d its free and just about the best uninstaller out there and get it from their own website and no nasty things bundled with it! Its best to do it in safe mode!

Yes its expensive in the UK they have gone up in the last two weeks because of the mental exchange rate because of the UK referendum to leave the EU. Anyway I got the GTX 1070 today tested it with Singularity and an older version of Firestorm with the phoenix UI under windows 7 pro and their both working fine no crashes or strangeness, getting over 150 fps in some places with firestorm without advanced lighting, but about 70-90 fps in my store with lots of mesh and textures etc (thats on ultra with a 1080 monitor) once everything had downloaded. I will try it in our club tonight when its busy at a guess it will be about 35-45 fps if i am lucky lol. Edit to add, ive been testing the card in our club now more people are here I was getting about 40 plus fps with about 12 people there all in sight, once 20 people were there fps dropped to 30 - 37 even changing max aves up high and down low had no effect, MSI afterburner said the gpu was running at 40% this seems to be a common problem with sl that the graphics card does not boost up. though the fps was down lower everything remained fluid and not jerky no perceived lag as such. ( was using Singularity viewer) i will try it again with firestorm later when i have downloaded the new version.
