  1. As someone who writes lots of code, I can tell you that games are not an easy thing to make. Tack that onto the fact this is a engine rpm 2001 or something, the fact that there are terabytes of data, dynamic connections, multiple web systems in multiple coding languages, and you got yourself a stew of troubles. LL puts lots of work into the keeping SL up and running, it's no easy task either. The only way there would be no issues would be if LL stopped working on SL entirely, but then something would break and we would have no new features, which they give to us for free(mostly). If anyone should be complaining it's LL having to actually find what's wrong then fix it.
  2. LL has a lot of ARs to go through, along with fixing bugs. As for them coming back, it's nearly impossible to stop them. LL has attempted to put measures in place(such as machine ID and mac address banning), but it doesn't stop users with malicious intent.
  3. I have seen a variety of these. Same person every time despite name change. The best thing to do is ban it from your group and report it to LL. Unfortunately it will take some time as LL has to weed out the junk ARs that they retrieve(I.E.: "said rude things" "bumped me" "being loud on voice" etc). I do advise against linking their current location, as some ill-manored(I think this is the correct word I am looking for? I don't feel it is) users will go there and take advantage of it despite the fact they are copybotted.
  4. I'm going to go ahead and disclose that I am indeed a furry, but there are various reasons for this: Some sims such as RP sims, furries just plain out do not fit in. Imagine seeing a anthromorphic fox walking around in a wild west area RP sim, or on a historical RP sim. It just wouldn't make sense and would ruin the immersion for some people. In adult areas, furries can be a turn off for some people. Sure, some people with human avatars are alright with doing it with furry avatars, BUT some people would see this as bestiality. Sometimes even the owner of the area. Some people just don't like it and just go ahead and ban it. Let's face it, furries are weird. We make unrealistic anatomy that is 10 meters big or do cringy RP(EG: "/me murry purrys ur furry part XXXDDDDDDD"). While not all of furries do it, there is no denying there is this part of the fandom. Blanket bans solve this problem. SL is a place of expressing yourself, EVEN IF it is the owner of the parcel/sim. They own the sim/parcel and get final say(Unless estate manager or LL steps in). Taking away their right to control how they want their sim is removal of their rights. It just wouldn't be fair. Now, one question for you is, why would you want to be in an area where you were not excepted, even if the owner was forced to allow you? Are you sure you would want to be in an area where the owner disliked or even hated, you for your avatar? I sure wouldn't. Best thing to do in this, is just find places where you can hang out and have fun while being accepted. There are a hand full of places that don't like furries or just outright ban them, while on the other hand there are plentiful of places that accept furries or just don't mind. Heck, I even know of one place that only allows furries and ban human avatars. Or places than ban males and accept females and visa versa. Not once have humans avatar users complained about this(at least, to my knowledge). As for someone complaining about furries in a public area(EG: Linden owned land, or Linden owned mainland) or on private land(Resident owned sims), they can have their opinion, but they cannot do anything about it. If they impede on this without the owner's permission, via means of griefing or something, report them to the owner of the land. If it happens on Linden owned land, report them to LL via abuse report and watch them get banned. :^)
  5. Hello, you and another person seems to be having this problem. Can you please post a list of your currently worn attachments so it we can narrow it down to what it might be? Thanks!

  7. I recommend not using the MP for obtaining the crux avatars, for two reasons: They are likely copybotted and as such do not have Malluch Cleaver's name to the objects. If they are copybotted, they are very likely missing scripts and will not give you a good experience. The vendor in-world for the crux avatars has unfortunately disappeared(Which was at Zoe (132, 84, 22) for anyone wondering), but fret not, apparently from my recent learnings, Malluch Cleaver(The creator of the Crux avatar) has released the crux avatar for anyone to get for free and is infact, distributed by a box, placed by Malluch himself. You can find it at Lavonia (156, 45, 25), or at least a rough estimation of the position I last recall the box being at. It may be a bit tricky to get, just make sure you right click the red text, not the box behind the red text. You cannot "Take copy", but you can "Buy" for L$0. You have to have an account that is eligable for entering adult regions however. If you are indeed of or greater than the age of 18, you may do this by going to the My Account page and choosing "Adult verification" from the sidebar(I think? It's been a long time since I did this). You no longer need SSN or weird things as last time I had to verify my alt/bot's account, it was simply just a check box.
  8. There are tons of non-mesh furry avatars, or partial mesh(EG: mesh objects that are not rigged. For example, KZK Hyena is mesh, but none of it is rigged). As for fixing up RLV to not detach specific things, It's possible to do this. Most relays allow the ability to "lock" an attachment point, so you can just attach the body to "Avatar Center", if that it is the mesh body is entirely rigged mesh and linked together(you can usually link rigged mesh together without issue, if it is scripted properly), then choose to lock the "Avatar Center" attachment point. Other then that, I am not entirely sure if this will work, but it MIGHT work. I provide it under public domain and no warranty/support. I cannot be held liable for anything this script does: integer yourChannel = 1234;default{ attach(key id){ if(id) llResetScript(); } on_rez(integer i){ llResetScript(); } state_entry(){ llSetMemoryLimit(0x2000); llListen(yourChannel, "", llGetOwner(), ""); } listen(integer chan, string name, key id, string msg){ if(msg == "lockavatar") llOwnerSay("@detach=n"); else if(msg == "unlockavatar") llOwnerSay("@detach=y"); }} Change yourChannel to any channel you like. Place the script in any object you wish to lock from detachment by using "/channelnumber lockavatar", and unlock using "/channelnumber unlockavatar".

You can stop them from spamming you. Go to their place, cause problems and break their rules, get yourself banned from the sim(Estate banned, not parcel banned. Taunt them from outside the parcel if they parcel ban you). They will ban you from tramps but they will also remove you from the spam list. Yes it is a poor work-around since LL has refused to ban them for over 6+ months, but it works. I did that. Decided to accept the tp one time so that I could voice my complaint vividly, shouting. I got banned. The teleport offers continued. The only result is you get denied entry, but the tp spam continues. It really can be a hassle depending on the user and what they are doing. The new Firestorm preferences were the only way I found to stop them. Give it a day or two, maybe a week. Bots have to update their lists.
  10. Doing this will have the opposite of intended effect, also will get your bots banned, and risks termination of your main account and shutdown of your region. See https://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion-Forum/Daily-TP-spams-over-months-from-TRAMPS/m-p/3027354#M224966 for an example. Tramps Land has done the same thing and it has done nothing for them but make their place hated by all. Although I don't oppose muscular wolf/dog men..
  11. As of the webkit to CEF update to SL viewers, a special version of flash is required. 1. Go to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ 2. Select your operating system from the first field 3. CHOOSE PPAPI. This is important, even if you are using something like Firefox or Internet Explorer. SL requires the PPAPI version. This will not affect your other installs of flash(it will continue working on all browsers you have installed it for). 4. Uncheck the bloatware, you don't need these. 5. Close out of SL if it is running, then download and install. 6. Launch SL and it should work.
  12. I'm not entirely sure if this is what caused it, but you might have changed these two settings: These settings should be in the same location regardless of viewer(that being, any viewer based on the current release).
  13. I suspect you mean this icon . This is the invalid inventory icon. This can happen if the asset/simulator server done goof'd, packet transfer failure, or if LL deprecates a inventory type. You can find out what this is by abusing the fact that inventory is cached. Navigate to your cache directory(On windows, press the windows logo key + r, type "%LOCALAPPDATA%" and press enter, open the folder named which ever viewer you are using(EG: secondlife, firestorm, firestorm_x64)), and you will be greeted with a bunch of files. Look for or use search to find a file named f70df855-0149-4928-81a4-b887e3ed146b.inv.gz. You will need to unpack this file, you can do this using 7-zip or gunzip command line if you have it installed. You can get 7-zip here if you don't have it installed: http://www.7-zip.org/ Using a non-built-in editor known as notepad(I recommend notepad++ https://notepad-plus-plus.org/ for editing of text documents of all types), press ctrl+f or what ever the search function is and search for the inventory's name, you should see this: inv_item 0{ item_id 00000000-d8d0-1ef0-2027-fab2813a9225 parent_id 00000000-fbf8-492c-73a0-b387dded10b5permissions 0{ base_mask 7fffffff owner_mask 7fffffff group_mask 00000000 everyone_mask 00000000 next_owner_mask 0008e000 creator_id 796b1537-70d8-497d-934e-0abcc2a60050 owner_id 796b1537-70d8-497d-934e-0abcc2a60050 last_owner_id 796b1537-70d8-497d-934e-0abcc2a60050 group_id 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} asset_id 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 type object inv_type object flags 00000000sale_info 0{ sale_type not sale_price 10} name Single sided plane| desc (No Description)| creation_date 1438171201} You will want to get the above values of type and inv_type, in this case the above values would be "object" and "object".

  15. By the time I get my Vive, if no one has started working on a viewer that supports it, I'll write a viewer that does support the vive. So there will be a viewer that supports it. In fact, it's one of the very reasons that I filed this suggestion https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-11851 Of course with SL's framerate issues, there are some optimizations that will be required, I already have a few in mind(these cannot be added into regular viewers due to removal of stuff people use).
  16. Kelli is correct, only the copyright owner may file a DCMA complaint. You can however notify the copyright owner of this so they may make such a complaint. Firstly, make sure it is indeed a U.S. government agency logo and not a parody or one that looks similar to but not exactly. Anyone can have a Eagle holding two items, for example: If you have confirmed it is indeed not a parody or similar looking logo, you should proceed to notify USA.gov via their contact page. They will be able to forward the issue to the proper division which manages the copyrights. Unrelated, but interesting: Government works have a special copyright which makes them usable by many different people, see here: https://www.usa.gov/government-works
  17. It's not the avatar you play that matters, but the person behind the avatar that you are. I treat everyone, Resident last name or not equally, as long as they are nice.
  18. This might actually be what those spinbots are for, in which case, they do indeed violate user privacy and should be reported. I shall investigate and return with my findings. --Edit-- This should have replied to the main post not the last post and not a reply to the mainpost. :v --Edit 2-- This is pure speculation, as such do not take anything this says for truth as it might not be the truth at all. Only people who can make it certain is German Land Holding or Linden Lab themself. I looked at the Community Guidelines and there does not appear to be any rule against mentioning names based on findings which are avaliable to the general public, if this is not true please shoot me a IM/PM/Reply and I'll remove it. According to my findings, the terminal script is created by xxWOLLOWxx.Resident (This is publicly obtainable information, just inspect the terminal at FYF's main store), they also are the "Technician of German Land Holding". From what I am guessing, Technician meaning the webmaster and scripter of GLH. This may mean those objects they have on their estates that spam profiles with "Thank you for your interest in german land holding" also log the location of agents as they visit and depart. Again this is pure speculation and might not be true.
  19. From Listing Guidelines > disallowed-actions: Disallowed Actions The following actions are disallowed. Note that these actions are disallowed by the Second Life Terms of Service, and are restated here for clarification. ... • Anti-Competitive or Abusive Behavior. Examples include, but are not limited to: inflating prices on the SL Marketplace, in comparison to in-world or other e-commerce sites, posting hostile or false reviews or comments on a competing merchant's items, posting reviews that encourage users to buy competitor products, or visit in world locations, posting item listings that are abusive or disparaging with respect to another merchant or their products. using alternate or related accounts to purchase or rate your own items, rewarding buyers for reviews unless both positive and negative reviews are rewarded. So as long as the person whom is offering compensation for reviews gives compensation for ALL, including those that do not do the product good, it is permitted. Feel free to report those only offering compensation for 5 star/good reviews only under "Disallowed listing practices". :v

Ah, I see you too are a fan of rezzing one too many beach balls.
  21. Answer: nope, not possible. Reason: it's a children's game, they can't cut into second life's multi million dick and "sex sells" market. In fact, I've tried it before for the lulz, they don't compare anywhere near second life, it's more like Garry's mod with micro transactions than second life as it has many servers instead of a unified grid. There even is a few obvious under ager's on there who state they play second life and even give out their user name. Now any grown adult would know it's not a good idea to recruit children to an adult game. Unfortunately they don't explicitly stated that they are under the age of 18 or 16, and there is no in world linking to that so LL can't do anything about it. But it just goes to show, even children who play roblox find SL more interesting and free.
  22. 38 is more than enough, if you need more than that then you are doing something wrong. If you purchased modifiable rigged mesh, you can link those together and it will work as it you never linked them together. Eg: I had a pair of pants which came as three attachments, the belt, upper part, and lower part. I linked them together and they are rigged the same as they were before, but this time using 2 less attachment points. Another reason why modifiable objects triumph over non modifiable objects.
  23. I play as a hyena and other species, as well as other genders, when ever I choose. Many people do it, and there's nothing wrong with it. 15peter20 wrote: Recently, after 8 months of 'virtual dating', this man became moody and insisted on hearing my voice. I turned on my mic and admitted I was a r/l man. Although I do not know the full story, this MIGHT be deceptive. If you explicitly implied you were female, then yes this is deceptive and you are in the wrong. If you fabricated evidence, then yes you were seriously in the wrong and should appologize. If you never said anything about your RL gender either in text or in your 1st life profile, then general rule of the thumb is to "assume anyone can behind that avatar" and you were not in the wrong. 15peter20 wrote: He is now claiming he will report me to LL and get me banned for life for 'deception'. So I'm wondering - does he have any basis for this? Or is he just ranting because he feels stupid at not asking me to verify r/l details earlier? Regardless of any of the things listed above, deception or not, no. If LL went around banning people for every little thing everyone reports(specifically those not against the ToS) then there'd be no users left.(This is a reason why ARs take so long, LL has to weed out the BS). If you need references http://www.lindenlab.com/tos https://secondlife.com/corporate/cs.php http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Terms_of_Service_FAQ But IMO, the fact they have to go "IM REPORTING YOU" makes me think they are just whiney.
  24. Indeed, there is. I use it and so do quite a bit of other people use it, but it requires a bit of coding to get it working. You can read the documentation here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Direct_Delivery_and_Automatic_Notification_System The useage of this is pretty much limitless. You can have it send messages to something such as Growl, Update a database with new information for deliveries, etc. For your desired purpose however, it would require a bit of setup. Here is the basic design of what you'd need to do: Aquire a server(or set up your own and use a dynamic dns such as https://freedns.afraid.org/ ) Write some php/python/perl/etc code to do the following: Accept LSL llRequestURL() addresses and store them On ANS requests, dispatch data to stored LSL http address Optionally(and preferrably), store the data locally so you can do redeliveries LSL will accept a POST messages that will send you a IM. However, if you can aquire a http server, since most services support php(I don't really like php because of reasons, but I'll write it anyway), you can use the following code: Here is the PHP script, it's well documented on what stuff does: https://gist.github.com/FelixWolf/b3179469e0b6aa112fda And here is the LSL script, also documented: https://gist.github.com/FelixWolf/233c3508a1a1f0c4c0f9 If you need a place to host the php script, theres free hosts out there such as 000webhost(No endorsed or sponsered by them, just a name I know off the top of my head) and what not. If you need any help with this OR my untested code fails, let me know and I'll see what I can do! :3

Too much of a profit loss and it's their flagship/greatest achievement so far. Sansar has probably about 50 servers dedicated to it, no more. It's not that populated yet as it is in private beta. LL has even stated they will not be shutting off SL.
