  1. I‘ve thought about it! The only other Fauve that I know of who does stuff is Fauve Beaumont and we are really easy to tell apart.
  2. Granted, they go 2x as fast now, hooray...but unfortunately productivity suffers and you are dealt a large pay cut as a result. I wish I did not catch cold so often.
  3. Butbutbut...what about the SooperSpiffySexSox I’ma make...surely you wouldn’t want to miss those right? What are you, some kind of prude? I bet you did not buy my vagoogoo mug or dirty talk French fries either...
  4. We had something similar. They were really great tests for showing me (and unfortunately my fam) what I ‘might be best suited for’ and they were correct, I was pretty good at those things...but those careers were really far from what my **heart wanted** to do and I feel like they actually put another stumbling block in my way trying to get there.
  5. it will still be helpful to me, because the Limited Edition or OOAK things I’ve purchased, I’ve known to search for specifically by name, and the time the release drops. I can’t remember a time when I’ve just accidentally ‘happened across’ a marvelous limited edition on MP, in a general search for something else...so checking ‘copy’ and checking ‘don’t show limited quantity’ should be effective for filtering out most Gacha for me. I’ve written a cut/paste string with ‘NOT’ modifiers to catch much of the d*e*m*o, _demo_, Dem0 kinds of things that I know are deliberately mis-named and then set my L$ range above L$1. I’m thinking the ‘don’t show demos’ checkbox still might not catch those quite so well.
  6. There is a separate category for them already so drilling down within the category you do want first and then adding “NOT gesture” (without the quotes) to your search term should eliminate most of the rest of the stragglers that are in the wrong category.
  7. I think at least some people signed up with little thought to their user name, then become invested in SL and will want to change it. I think many may just grow out of their name they chose 9+ years ago but don’t want to lose their inventory to start over. Someone named BananaFart Resident might find it a bit difficult to become a land baron or a university liaison or a CSR. I can’t really say the cost is ‘too high’ because I’m not privy to the business model, I guessed it would be $49.99, and possibly tied to premium only (not just one month to snag the change then revert to a free account, is that to beef up the ‘numbers of accounts with premium memberships’ statistic for 2020?). My fiancé predicted the name chance would be ~$20 so was surprised by the price being higher. Both of us would have probably paid it at either price to get a last name. Yes even from a list. We didn’t expect the last name lists to be done differently than they were done the first time. I’m not really sure why they stopped with that system and went to ‘Resident with display names’ with no ability to merge or combine accounts. I know some people with the last name ‘Resident’ have long been annoyed by it and are still irked. It’s not really clear at sign-up that you are getting a generic last name of ‘Resident’ while some people have a 2-word name. In IMVU, one of the most-asked things at first is how to get the generic name tag of ‘Guest’ off. Some people won’t pay to get the ‘Resident’ off, some will be quite glad to finally have the option. I came on the SL grid in February 2008, Fauve Aeon is my first SL account and I stuck with it, it’s not the best name, it’s (unfortunately) hard for people to pronounce in voice (Fauve rhymes with ‘stove’ and Aeon with ‘neon’) and it was chosen in haste...but I’ll stick with it, I’m used to it. I’m not considered an ’oldbie’ just because I have a last name, BTW...there are still quite a few people who will always go by your rez date, which is why we hear a certain amount of the ‘well this isn’t my first account’ business. I’m not even sure how old your account needs to be for ‘oldbie’ classification come to think of it, I’m always looking at your most recent project/interests over your ‘time on the grid’.
  8. Would oration reflect desire? Seldom, SADLY.
  9. I think these will vary so much from person to person, and some are easier to learn to be better skilled at through practice than others, from youth and school on out into first and second careers...but without good decision making and practicing the interpersonal a lot and honing true social skills, so much of all of them will remain untapped and unavailable, to self, team, others. Having X intelligence and being able to actually *apply* it in a practical and beneficial way can be very different. I have more natural facility in body-kinesthetic, visual-spatial, musical, linguistic (when I want to use it), adequate development in the others.
  10. Granted, what a good person to wish such a thing! They are now all yours to rehabilitate though and you must devote your entire life to caring for them all forever, an endeavor that leaves you NO free time. Also they all wish to sleep in bed with you. I wish I did not have sweets cravings ever again.
  11. Go to places you like, do the things you like and things you really want to maybe learn to do (or appreciate) in SL, choosing the more populated of areas for doing these activities of course...and you will likely start to meet people who like some of the things you like so that’s a good way to have a genuine start to a conversation. Also, learning some basic internet etiquette is another good start...like for instance, not necroposting on threads here as a first post?
  12. Granted...there was an X-files episode about that, 😉 your fate would probably be similar. I wish I was motivated to go to the gym today. I’m a slacker.
  13. I’d rather know than not know someone’s views, even though I do not discuss my politics much at all, I do try to make my values obvious inworld too, it makes for a more pleasant encounter since everyone does make judgements, no question...but I still think limiting and making containment areas for these topics on forums is best. I have to say that I prefer inworld boxing though.
  14. (it’s a game 😉...fortunately my materials project is a very personal thing just for me!) I can’t resist replying again on this one, you don’t really want this wish... Granted, but since people who forget their mistakes are doomed to repeat them....well, you know. I wish I could carve out one more hour of creative time per day.
  15. Granted, your account now has a magical 24 hour hold on impulse purchases and you lose your sense of fun and excitement connected to shopping completely. I wish I was already really good with materials textures, I’m itching to see my idea come to life!
  16. https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/UniK/128/128/3001 The new round of Unik opens tomorrow, I saw one there when I flew through.
  17. I’ll see if I have a 2010-2020 comparison but for now there’s this. Top photo by a long gone friend, taken not too long after I arrived in SL, the bottom one is a SLelfie from this past December.
  18. Get in, time to go shopping... Oh good, champagne is open! All ready to go?
  19. Time to put away the holiday mess. I had a lot of fun doing the community gift calendar for New Babbage though. I learned a little bit about scripting, mostly ‘that I don’t know very much’! 😺 wintery kimono...
